49 Our debut

January 31st 2014:

The day is finally here! Our debut. Today is the day that our music and M/Vs are released, and tomorrow is the day of the concert. We are all gathered in our new dorm on the couch waiting for the clock to hit 12:00 pm for the M/Vs and music to drop. Very soon the clock reaches 12 and the music is dropped. We instantly head to Youtube to watch the M/Vs.

The first M/V is Raise the Standard. The M/V tells the story of our group coming together. The song starts by showing Hyun-Shik sitting on his throne in an empty room, he's looking bored as he is splayed out over it. Suddenly a servant runs in and says something to him. He gets up off of his throne and gives an order. The video then cuts to me watching Hyun-Shik through a crystal ball. I smirk and click my figures creating multiple crystals. I then click my figures again and the crystals teleport away. I then look into the crystal ball again as the scene inside changes. the video then cuts to Hayashi all dressed up in military-style uniform inspecting his soldiers. The music starts as a crystal appears on the ground in front of him. He picks it up and looks at it. It shows him the image of a flame in a brazier. He looks away into the distance and the camera follows. The scene then cuts to DongBang hammering away on an anvil. He stops hammering and turns away to grab his holders so he can dip the sword in water. he turns back to find the sword replaced with a crystal. The same thing continues with the other members including Hyun-Shik who finds it sat on his throne when he turns back around. The video continues, showing the members all going on adventures. It also shows me smiling and watching them through the crystal ball while playing chess. I look out the window and at the sky which has been dark and gloomy this whole time. The scene then changes to show the world flat with its edges crumbling away fast. It then shows me clicking my figures again, teleporting maps into each of the other member's hands. The members follow their maps to different locations. Each place has a temple with a lit brazier inside. The members climb the stairs. As they do the crystals change form into unlit torches. The members all light their torches. The video then shows each of them returning to their homes where they gather up everyone. As they do the world is crumbling faster and the darkness is closing in. The light from the torches pushes the darkness away and creates a path over the void that is left after the world crumbles. The scene changes back to me as I leave my door and walk into the void. I stand in the middle of the emptiness. I put my hands together as two glowing spheres appear. I slowly create a portal. The other members are slowly leading their people through the void and darkness. They all spot the portal appearing and head towards it. They all walk through it with the people they are leading. Once they are through they end up running into each other. They look at each other and see the torches. Suddenly I appear in front of them with my arms folded. I look up at them, smirk and click my figures. Suddenly their outfits all change, they are now all wearing white and gold uniforms with different insignia on them. Hyun-Shik has a crown, Hayashi has a sword, DongBang has a hammer and anvil, Younjae has a quill and book, Akira has a lightbulb, Kyu-Bong has a bow and shield, and I in a gold and white robe have two hands open with a globe in the middle as my symbol. I then materialise a torch in my hand and we all lift them as the camera pans to show a fresh world, full of life and colour that expands endlessly. The video cuts off.

The reactions to the video are amazing too. We reached over 2o million views in under an hour and almost 19M likes. It was insane. We broke records after records.

The other M/Vs all followed suit as they were released at intervals, but all on the same day. Spotify also saw a big influx in streams, as our music was played.

We were so happy about the reception and from reading the comments we could tell that the reception was a majority positive as there we only a couple of negative comments. mostly about JYPE rather than our group as well.

Following the crazy 'debut' we all decided to rest a little longer as the next day was our debut concert. Then we had performances on MCountdown, Music Bank and Inkigayo to attend.

February 1st 2014:

Today is the day. Performance time. We woke up early that morning and were taken to the venue. there we had 4 hours to rehearse and prepare. We were going to be performing three of our debut songs. 2PM and Got7 would come later to rehearse as they were older groups and were only performing one song each as they were only singles. very soon we had to head in and get changed and styled for our performances. We had been dressed in white and gold military uniforms, each of us had the symbol from the Raise the Standard M/V on our back. Then all we had to wait until after Got7 and 2PM performed.

Very soon it was our turn to perform. JYP got up on stage and spoke to the audience.

"OK, everyone. I know that you all paid for tickets to see 2PM and Got7 perform. We now have a little surprise for you all. Hailing fresh from JYP's latest survival show, the new Boy Group will break the rules and lead us into a new future of Kpop. Please welcome VANGUARD!"

The crowd burst into cheers and applause. The back screens of the stage open as music starts. We all step out onto the stage.
