11 Chapter 11

"Are you the ones who saved me?" the little girl asked respectfully, which surprised Arthur and August.

"Y-yes," it took August a few moments to answer.

"I thank you for saving my life, my name is Joan," she introduced herself.

"Y-yeah…ummm… My name is August and this is Arthur," August said, he was really bad at talking with this kind of person, and from the way she talks, she either came from a noble or Royal family, August scratched the back of his head.

"So..umm.. where is your family?" August asked.

"T-they have been killed by… the rebellion army, please don't give me to them I beg you," she said with a scared tone.

"Oh, those psychopaths are on it again? Don't worry, I don't like those guys, they would even kill young children who are innocent," August said with a disgusted tone.

"I-I thank you very much," she bowed towards them.

"Ehm.. don't worry, so…umm.. Where do you want to go now? I could bring you there safely," August said.

Joan bit her lips then bowed towards him again, "Please, let me live here, I can do chores or anything you want, just please provide me shelter," she said, she doesn't want to take advantage of their kindness towards her, but she doesn't have to go anymore.

She came from a royal family but the Rebellion Army attacked, she was able to escape by her servants sacrificing themselves, she took shelter from a family who she trusted , but the family she trusted and sheltered her, sold her off to the rebellion army, due to some luck, she was able to escape.

She ran away for a few days, barely surviving by eating wild fruits and drinking water into a muddy lake.

She didn't rest in fear that the rebellion army would catch up to her, she was also full of injuries and bruises, especially her legs as she ignored every obstacle on her way, just to escape, then one day when she was venturing on the forest, she was found by a Basilisk.

She immediately ran away wanting to avoid it, but the Basilisk chased after her, and it was very fast, in no time it was able to catch up to her and sent her flying, she crashed into a tree, barely conscious.

Fear enveloped her heart as the Basilisk moved closer to her, 'Am I going to die like this?' she thought, as her consciousness started fading away, a figure dashed in front of her and saved her, that was the last thing she knew before she woke up into an unfamiliar ceiling.

She weakly stood up and looked around, she could feel the pain on her body, she was in a church like place except it was not, the place had many weird items hanging around the walls, and some things she had never seen before.

She came from a rich family and ventured around the country, but this was the first time she had seen things like this, a small sculpted wooden character, a tall man with big body, wearing a bandana with a crescent mustache holding a naginata, she had never seen this warrior before, but he looked very fierce.

Just then she heard a voice coming from the outside, she slowly walked outside and saw two figures walking towards her, one fairly young man who was in his twenties then a kid who seemed to be older than her by 2 years.

Joan waited for an answer with her eyes closed, she kept her head low as she was scared to be rejected.

"Hmm, I don't mind taking you in, but…" August said.

"But?" she looked up with expectant eyes.

"You have to call me father, puhahaha!" August started laughing.

"What kind of request is that?" Arthur nudged August with his shoulder.

"What? Don't you also call me father? Are you perhaps jealous? Don't be jealous Arthur HaHa!" August started laughing again.

"I-I'm not jealous, what are you saying father!" Arthur and August started bickering towards each other.

Joan seemed to be dumbfounded by August's request, she was expecting something like she had to clean the house or do all of the chores, worst come worst she will be a slave but he said just call him father? She then looked at the two who were happily bickering at each other.

She could see the genuine smile on their faces as they talked, she could see a true happy family, she couldn't help but remember the dark family she had, everything they did was fight each other, hate each other, dark covered Joan's eyes as she remembered these memories.

Just then a hand patted her shoulder that seemingly the light, all of the darkness disappeared in an instant, "Welcome to the family Joan," August said with a smile.

"Well, Since I'm older, call me big brother, welcome to the family, Joan," Arthur said with a very big smile.

*Thump!

Joan heard her heartbeat as she saw that smile, she felt the world shone it's true colors to her, she felt its beauty had shown itself once more, all of her worries disappeared in a flash, Arthur extended his hands and grabbed her hands, "Let's go meet baby Elaine," Arthur said as he pulled her towards the house.

"Let's go!" August also followed her.

Joan couldn't help but be surprised, they had just met today, but they treated her as their true family, she felt warmth, security, and happiness, they then arrived in a room where many toys were hanging in the ceiling, she could see stars, moon, and many things, hanging on a string.

"My Sweety Elaine! Did you miss me!" August said as he moved towards Elaine, who was crawling towards him.

She was still 1 years old but she could already crawl, the reason was the mana had enhanced the bodies of the babies so it was not rare to see them already crawling, maybe a few months later, she will be able to walk, anyways, it depends on their mana capacity.

August carried Elaine and showed her to Joan, "Sweety, this is big sister Elaine, our new family member," August introduced her, Elaine extended her cute little hands to Joan.

Joan gave a warm smile and also extended her hands towards Elaine, she felt Elaine was welcoming her, she couldn't help but smile, "Please take care of me Elaine," she said and then squeezed Elaine's little hand lightly.

Since you guys had been waiting for a long time now, ehm... I'm doing fine, except for being able to only write this time, and my stock chapters became a corrupted file so I'm doing fine <3 I'm going to put up some chapters that I redid.

PS: I don't have any stock up chaps
