NO FEELINGS ATTACHED

Damien got up and walked closer to the bed, he glanced at her for the last time before he turned back and exited the room. 

"How is she?" Dylan asked when he saw Damien walk out of her room, he had been standing by the door for over thirty minutes waiting for Damien. 

"She's still unconscious" Damien answered and then he walked away and head straight for his room. 

Dylan sighed, he wanted to follow him so he could talk to him but Dylan did not want to be the one to put salt on injury. Dylan glanced at the time on his watch, it was a few minutes past ten. 

Dylan thought of going back to his place for the night, driving out by this time of the night wasn't safe but Dylan had to leave.

Selena's eyes fluttered open and she gazed into the dark, Selena couldn't see a thing but she could tell she was in her room, she could see the little shades of pink. Selena reached her hand out to put on the lamp, she looked around but he was no where to be found. 

Selena sighed as she lay back on the bed, she couldn't help but call herself stupid in her head. Of course he wasn't going to be here, what was she expecting? Selena had thought that he would be standing by her bed till she wakes up, she was hoping she could get a glimpse of his face. But of course Damien wasn't going to wait for her, Selena was sure that he had gone to bed already. 

Selena took a deep breath and closed her eyes, she was still having a headache but it was getting better now. She glanced at the time on the wall and saw that it was past midnight. Selena tried to recollect what happened, she remembered saying some words to Damien, she had told him that she loved him. Selena wondered if that was the reason why Damien left her tonight, Selena didn't want to believe that Damien was angry because of what she said, or perhaps he was thinking of terminating the contract. 

Selena didn't know why she said it, the words just came out and she couldn't fight the truth. Today Diana had made her realize how easy it was for her to loose the only person she had left. 

After her mum died, Selena realized that she had no one else, it was just her against the world and the thought was scary. But Damien was there for her, even though his methods were different at least she was sure that he cared. But maybe she was wrong, maybe she was just interpreting it all wrong, perhaps Damien was just fulfilling his own part of the deal. 

Selena sighed as she turned off the lamp, she had to stop thinking about everything, Selena had to remind herself that this was a contract marriage, she had to remember that it was a contract marriage, no feelings attached.
