CHECK UP

Selena looked at her reflection in front of the mirror, she had decided to put on loose pants and an oversized shirt, she had her hair packed in a ponytail with a few strands dangling on the side. 

She walked out of the room as she head for the stairs, she glanced at the elevator and a thought crossed her mind but she quickly dismissed it. 

Selena could hear the voices bantering downstairs, she guess they were guys but she couldn't recognize the voices, the first was familiar but the second was a stranger. 

"Oh please, William Joe doesn't know how to make his way through traffic, what a pity" The voice said sarcastically followed by a small laugh. 

Selena wasn't prepared to meet new people, she slowly climbed down the stairs as her eyes scanned the living room, she finally saw the duo who had been filling the mansion with noise. 

"Oh here she is" Dylan said with Joy as he quickly walked towards Selena with a smile on his face. 

Selena looked at him and she could swear she had seen him somewhere before, Selena managed to muster up a smile even though he was a stranger to her, her eyes searched the room until she finally met his gaze. Selena didn't know why but she felt relieved that he was here, perhaps maybe she didn't feel comfortable being with strangers. 

"How are you feeling now?" Dylan asked as he held her hand and helped her down the stairs, he still continued to hold her hand as he led her to where William was sitting. 

"William this is my sister-in-law, Selena, be nice" Dylan warned as he introduced Selena to William but he didn't bother introducing William to Selena. 

Selena couldn't say a word, she just looked behind her to check if he was watching and indeed he was looking with arms crossed and a neutral look on his face. 

"You look beautiful" Dylan complemented as he looked at Damien from the corner of his eyes, he didn't notice any change but he was sure the man was loosing it. 

"Thank you" Selena said with a small smile on her lips. 

"You are?" Selena asked with raised brows. 

"Oh, I am heartbroken" Dylan said acting all dramatic as he placed his hand on his chest with a shocked expression on his face. 

"So he never told you" Dylan said and then he passed a glare to Damien before returning his soft gaze back to Selena. 

"I'm Dylan, Dylan Walker" he said with a smile as he placed his hands around her. 

"That's enough" 

The man's voice resounded in the living room as he looked at the duo holding each other. Damien had been watching for a while now, he could tell that Dylan was doing this to see his reaction and even though he knew it was all an act, he still couldn't stand it.

Dylan had a joyful grin on his lips as he turned to look at Damien, he removed his arms from Selena's shoulder. 

"What's wrong?" Dylan asked with a smile on his face as he looked at Damien. He was enjoying this too much, he had to hold himself from laughing out loud.

"Selena" Damien called out. 

"Come over here" he ordered as he fixed his eyes on her. 

Selena looked at him with questions in her eyes but she saw the serious look on his face, not wanting to prolong this any further, Selena obeyed and walked over to his side. 

"Clingy" Dylan said with a grin as he watched them both. 

Selena looked at Dylan and then she looked at Damien, they both had their eyes locked together and it didn't look like either one of them was willing to drop out of the race. 

"What's wrong?" Selena asked as she gently pulled his arm to get his attention. 

Damien broke his gaze and looked at her, he placed his hand around her waist and pulled her closer to himself such that their body was touching. Damien leaned closer to her ears as he gently spoke. 

"Why did you let him touch you?" Damien asked in a whisper as he gently bit her ears. 

Selena looked at him from the corner of her eyes and a smile formed on her lips. 

"Are you jealous?" Selena asked as she turned to face him but that had cause their faces to come closer, now she could feel his breath on her lips and she was staring directly into his eyes. 

"Hmmm" 

"Don't play games with me Mrs Parker" Damien said as he quickly pecked her lips and pulled away. 

"Alright, I've seen enough" Dylan complained as he waved his hands off as a signal for them to cut it. 

William flinched at the sight, he thought he was dreaming, he had to pinch his arm to remind himself that this was reality. For the past ten years, fuck it, it's been more than ten years, William didn't think he would ever see this happen. 

"I didn't pay you to sit and drool at my wife" Damien said as he glared at William, he had been watching the man ever since and all he did was stare. 

"Well I didn't want to intrude on your precious time with your wife" William spoke. 

Selena looked at the man, this was the first time she had heard him speak, he had been watching the entire time without saying word since she walked inside the room. It seemed like the stranger and Damien were not on good terms. 

"Well you already did, so I suggest you hurry up and get lost" Damien said. 

"Hey" Selena said as she gently hit his arm and whispered telling him to stop. Selena thought his words were harsh, too harsh. 

"It's alright Selena, I'm already used to this" William said as he got up from the couch. 

Selena looked at him and then she smiled warmly at him. 

"Let's start the check up" William said as he urged her to sit so he could start his work. 

Selena gave a nod and then she tried to free herself from Damien's grip but the man didn't let her. 

Damien gave her a stern look asking her to stop, he then proceeded to the couch William pointed at and then he took a sit. 

Selena was about to sit next to him but Damien gently pat on his thigh as he made a gesture. 

'Damn you Damien' 

Selena cursed in her mind as she watched him, she could tell he was just trying to mark his territory by doing this but Selena was not sure she would be comfortable sitting on his thigh throughout the check up.
