Aftermath(1)

I opened my eyes and saw only white, slowly color began to get added to my surroundings, I started to hear noises, at first faint, but as time went on lauder and lauder. As the world around me started to take shape I could see the White Lotus members near me using water bending, healing my body. I try to stand up to take a better look at them.

"Don't move, you are seriously hurt sir, it's a miracle that you are still alive. This is the first time I saw a person stabbed through the heart survive."

"Status report! Is Amon captured?"

"No, he managed to escape, but I don't see him posing as any problems in the future, a lot of people saw him water bend so his credibility is destroyed. By the way sir, how did you manage to survive such a hit?"

"I used my muscle to move my heart to the left, not easy and very painful I might add. How is the other person I had with me, Amon's lieutenant?"

"He's stable, just sleeping. He was hit pretty hard, the other healers are quite surprised he survived. Did you say you moved your heart? How?"

"With sheer will, now don't bother me anymore, since things have started to quiet down I can finally take some time to rest."

I entered 'limbo state' and looked at my body, it wasn't as bad as I thought, I didn't have any broken bones since the suit protected me, I only had a concussion and hole through my chest. I used my inner energy to improve the healing process, since I saw that it was possible when I used it Wu why wouldn't it be when I used it on myself? It was a slow process but compare to the time that it would take me to heal normally it was insanely fast. By the rate that it was going, it would be completely healed in a few days. Once I directed my energy I didn't have anything else to do so entered the land of dreams again, drifting endlessly in a world of serenity and love.

I woke up three days after with Nya standing next to me sleeping on the chair. I didn't want to wake her up so I entered 'limbo state' and looked at my body. Moving my heart in such a way wretched my meridians but at the same time cleaned them quite well. The fact that I used so much energy at once and used even ambient energy to support the consumption burned a lot of the impurities. The downside was that it also burned the internal layer of meridians, making it hurt every time I circulate energy. Since I healed the external damage I started to heal the internal one the only difference between the two was that healing internal damage is much harder and more painful, or so I found out immediately after I started to do it.

Nya woke up and we talk about what happened while I was out, apparently, we didn't manage to capture Amon and he took his brother with him, I wasn't too concerned about them since they wouldn't dare show their face here anymore. Hiroshi was captured again and most of the higher rank equalists were either on their way to prison or already inside, most of the higher rank people were of course angels. I asked Nya about Master Wu and she said he was depressed, he regretted all the things he has done for Amon. There are a few more things we talk about but and then I went to the front desk to get discharged.

The doctors almost fainted when they saw me walking. I couldn't blame them, how often do you see patients that came in critical condition walk like they didn't have anything after a couple of days. It was the second time it happened so all the healers came to do a diagnostic on me, they looked at me like I was some kind of a miracle, if this happened in my original world I am sure that they would have already started to dissect me by now. Thankfully they only used their water bending to look at my body to satiate their curiosity. I was pretty curious as well, I wanted to know how my body started to change since I started to use internal energy, unfortunately, they didn't find anything different with my body.

My next stop was the police station where things were still getting put back together. When I entered everybody stopped all they were doing and shouted while bowing.

"We wish the chief to live a long life!"

After people found out that I planed the attack to recapture the city and that I fought on the front lines to recapture it, I was seen as the reason for our victory. The fact that I was part of the Equalists also become a known fact, most people already suspected it since I had the attire of an angel, but they weren't too bothered about it. People saw this as me wanting to do good by helping the non-benders, but since the Equalists were evil I changed sides to fight for justice. This caught on with the public since everybody saw me as a person with unquestionable morals now.

I greeted everyone and went to talk with Lin. She was in her office buried under a mountain of paperwork.

"You came here way too often. Are you sure you don't want to join the police force? If it's you, I can give you my job if you want."

"Do I look like a person that likes to be tied down by something like the law? I want to ask you for a favor."

"I knew you would say something like that. I might overlook some things like your illegal weapon storage but that doesn't mean that I will not arrest you if you cross the line. That being said what can I do for you?"

"I want you to release all the captured equalists."
