Anyway, school is in three days I should probably begin organizing things and get into the mindset of learning.
I went outside my room and saw Ryan planning to go out somewhere. "Yo, Ryan where you going?"
"There is a 'boys' gathering at the arena, you should come watch," I wanted to go, but would it be worth it more than getting into the right mindset? Abso-fucking-lutely.
"Let's go then, if I think it's what I think it is then I gotta see this," While Ryan and I were talking, Blaze was constantly pestering what I meant.
While walking toward the arena, I saw someone being picked on and as soon as I wanted to interfere I saw the bully being jumped by 5 people, then they asked the other one if he was alright said some things and left, I just stood there blankly staring at what happened. Blaze was quite excited, but I didn't want to guess why.
"You probably thought that people wouldn't care if one was bullied right? Yeah, I used to think the same, but people here quite hate bullying and actively try to stop it from happening, and while the school does encourage it, it wasn't always like that the school used to encourage bullying somewhat, and then let them settle it with fights, but the government didn't really like that and forced the school to respect student rights, they forced them to create a force to stop bullying which became the birth of the anty-bullying alliance they 'Talk'(mostly with fists) and settle disputes between students, although it's called an alliance its more of a student council," I was pretty interested in the anty-bullying club but before I could ask more because we were already at the arena.
At the center of the arena were boys doing silly things, like currently there was a one-on-one rap battle, it wasn't good but it was definitely funny and entertaining. When it ended everyone started voting on who was better. I didn't vote because I just came in. After one won they would step down and two or more random people would be chosen for a random game, it seemed quite fun.
This time I wasn't picked but I knew that with my luck I was going to be picked the next round, this round was tag where you had to tag a runner it was a three versus one after a bit of button pushing most of the arena transformed and it became a jungle. Some were actually betting while others were chatting about who's gonna win.
The game began and the runner started climbing a tree while the taggers were smart enough to use the vines to climb up faster, seeing no other choice the runner grabbed a vine and swung across the entire arena, but still fell on his butt. A tagger did the same but this time landed perfectly. The others were running to surround him.
"God damn!" the runner seeing no other choice started to climb the tree and reached the top, then he started parkouring across the treetops, while taggers followed from below, but before long the runner did a mistake and started falling, but managed to stabilize himself by grabbing onto a branch.
Checking the time he saw that he only had to survive another minute, but before he could rejoice he saw two of the taggers from his left and right running toward him and as he was about to run, he felt a tap on his neck.
"GG's to the participants, unluckily the runner lost because he was distracted by the timer," The tag thing was quite a good way to train for uncertain situations, and I wanted to try it, but first I needed people that would play with me. For now, I focused on the next game.
"How lucky you guys, redemption for the runners is possible. TAG again! This time the contestants will be..." The announcer announced. And god damn, I was chosen, but I already knew it, although I was told I could reject it I decided to still go, it would certainly be fun.
I unluckily was the runner, even more unluckily was that it was still three taggers, they had two buff people and one average-looking guy, I went up to them to talk and they seemed nice, and I asked for the rules and they kindly told me the rules and also some tips like don't be afraid to fall because it won't hurt as there is a safety mechanism.
We chatted a bit and then I got into position as the game was starting, I called Blaze who was, as usual, lazying around. We planned to first dodge them on the ground level before climbing up to the tree tops. But soon we realized that wasn't the ideal plan as the map would change. So I gave the planning work to Blaze while I was going to dodge for as long as I could.
The game began and I ran to the center and waited for the runners to come, the audience instantly realized my plan, and started to laugh, they did expect some amazing dodges. While blaze analyzed the map, the map was just like the other one but with bridges connecting the trees, it was quite good for me. Soon the runners charged at me from all directions and at almost the perfect time I dodge rolled out of the way and started climbing the tree.
Climbing the tree was harder than it looked and I was much slower than the other guy. The runners were planning what to do next while I reached a bridge and climbed up.
"HEY! you guys don't have much time so why are you chatting and not catching me!" I shouted at them, and they looked at me with a smile, they began to run as I did the same but I soon realized that they managed to climb up much faster than I expected before I knew it, I was too late and was surrounded I had only one way to run and that was at a dead end.
To escape this situation I charged at the average-looking guy and jumped left off the bridge, and I looked at the time I knew that I would almost certainly win. Only 47 seconds remained. Two of the runners did the same but what they didn't realize was that my goal wasn't to reach the ground, my goal was the barely reachable vine, I managed to grab the vine barely as I had enough momentum to reach it.
I swung pretty badly as a half away I dropped and rolled on the ground, but I still managed to make some distance, looking back I saw that one was running on the bridges trying to cut my path, while the others were running in my direction, I chose to run into the thicker portions of the jungle where it was difficult to run, although it was quite a bad plan looking that the top guy could jump down on me, I was confident at my dodging skills.
Soon I was surrounded yet again and couldn't run anywhere, but I still struggled climbing up the tree, I no longer knew how many seconds were left, but I knew that I was close to winning. Before I knew it the timer ran out and I won the game, but the timer didn't stop as now it now was increasing slowly, my body couldn't handle it anymore and I gave up, shouting "I surrender!"
Jumping down the tree I met up with the taggers and chatted with them, they were quite exhausted, but they had a great time, we soon split away and I met back up with Ryan who praised me for winning.
The audience also enjoyed my skills as they were clapping, some were disappointed that I surrendered at the end. What I didn't realize at the time was that a teacher was watching with amazed eyes.
After three more matches of different games, the show was ending slowly and everybody was leaving, some praised my parkour skills, and asked for my name while some hated me because they lost their money. Ryan and I decided to eat something and later headed home.
