After the encounter outside the base, Brian has been thinking about various matters and one of them was to get stronger.
He didn't want to be left behind.
He thought that he was already strong enough, but seeing these two people who were fighting against the big mutated animals with such ease, Brian had some doubts. His rate of improvement seemed to be much slower compared to these people.
But Brian was not doing nothing either.
He did some investigation in the base to figure out some of the common knowledge. This naturally included how to attract these big mutated animals.
For some species, the smell of blood alone was more than enough to attract these big mutated animals. It was also because of this that they didn't usually stay outside for a long time.
