Cain's hands were warm.

He was human. Cain was alive. My eyes fluttered shut. I didn't want to admit that I was truly here. That this was all real, that these people in front of me were not just pawns or paper figurines. They were people that I cared about, they were people that I loved—"I don't know how," I whispered, the words choked, "But I think you and Mina are going to die."

There was silence. Cain squeezed my hand, "Can you explain a bit more, Caesaria?" He whispered. He sounded a bit breathless. I looked up, meeting his eyes. He was confused but he believed me. The gravity of that made me exhale.
