Pendant

"Ms. Sophie, how are you feeling?" Rina asked while walking towards her.

"I'm just a bit dizzy. Aside from that, I feel fine." Sophie answered before noticing their surroundings. "Huh? Where are we?"

Before anyone could answer, she looked up and saw the night sky that was filled with stars.

Then, she turned her head towards the island in the horizon that Zen saw earlier.

"Oh, we're near the base!" She said in surprise.

"Is that it?" Ren felt confused. An island this near to a headquarters would surely have surveillance in it, but they haven't been approached by anyone all this time.

As if seeing through his thoughts, Sophie said, "This is one of the things that we discovered lately. Which is the sudden appearance of various islands all around the world."

Hearing this, Rina looked at her husband and saw that he had an interested expression on his face.

"Is that so…" Ren whispered softly. Then, he continued, "Now that you're awake, Ms. Sophie. Do you have any means of contacting the base?"

"Oh right, give me a second!" Sophie reached deep down her bosom and took out a circular pendant with simple patterns. However, there were two crossed rapier swords symbols on the pendant which was very eye-catching. If observed closely, the rapiers looked like two letter "P"s.

As soon as Ren and Rina saw it, their expressions were filled with mixed fillings.

This was something that Zen, who had been observing silently since earlier, noticed.

'There must be some meaning behind that pendant…' He thought as he felt more and more curious about his father and mother's past.

Sera, on the other hand, sluggishly leaned on her brother while clutching her head with a pained face. 'Fuck, I'd rather experience hangover than this.'

Sophie didn't notice the expressions of the people around her, she just carefully held the pendant and pressed it slightly.

As soon as she pressed the pendant, it started to glow with red light. It could even be described as something magical as the light grows even brighter.

Zen and Sera looked on with an interested expression on their faces while Ren and Rina's faces were filled with nostalgia.

In a dimly lit office…

"Ughh… why are they taking so longgg~" A lazy female voice echoed around the office. The woman played with a pink phone in her hands, as if waiting for something.

Seeing that it was already around 8 in the evening, the woman's eyes revealed a drowsy look. However, there was also a hint of anticipation in them.

Knock! Knock!

Not long after, an urgent knock was heard from the door.

"Come in!" The woman stopped playing with her phone and adjusted her posture and brushed some pink strands of her hair behind her ear.

The door opened and when the woman with pink hair saw who it was, she slumped on the table again without a care in the world.

"Oh, it's just you secretary Blake~"

A woman wearing a suit entered from the door. After closing the door behind her, Secretary Blake said, "Lady Margareth, can you at least pretend to be serious?"

"Oh, whatever~" The woman was unperturbed. Obviously, she and the woman called Blake had a close relationship.

Secretary Blake did not continue to joke and instead, proceeded to run towards her before whispering urgently, "Lady, we have received a signal from Sophie."

"Huh!? What happened!?" The woman with pink hair, also known as Margareth, sat up again.

Secretary Blake replied, "I still don't know yet, but we have calculated that the signal came from the island that appeared lately."

Margareth worriedly said, "Then it means that she's there. But how could she… Well, nevermind. We'll know once she reports to us. Send a helicopter there as soon as possible, don't waste any time!"

Secretary Blake hurriedly left the room and did as she was told.

Being left in the office, Margareth paced around while nibbling her thumb. 'Damn, please don't let something bad happen to them…'

Secretary Blake didn't waste any more time and hurriedly ordered a few personnel to prepare a helicopter.

Although they didn't know what the helicopter was for, they only needed to follow orders. As such, they were quick and unhesitant with their actions.

It could be seen that each and every one of the personnels had a sense of unity with each other which made them efficient in following orders.

Soon enough, a helicopter was already prepared in the helipad. Blake boarded the helicopter and ordered the pilot to leave quickly after telling him their destination.

Blake knew that using a helicopter just to go over an island only a few miles away was a waste. However, she also knew the urgency of the situation.

'Sophie is a member of the secret regiment that was personally trained and nurtured by Lady Margareth. If something bad happens to her, then I'm afraid…' Blake shook her head and decided to leave it all to fate.

The helicopter that she ordered to be prepared was high-end. Therefore, they only needed a few minutes to reach the island.

After a while, Blake and the pilot noticed a red light on the island which served as a beacon.

"There it is!" Blake nervously pointed at the red light. The pilot increased the speed of the helicopter.

Not long after, the helicopter arrived above the island. As they started their descent, Blake saw Sophie who was excitedly waving her arms at her.

However, she also saw four other people with Sophie. Two of the four people seemed familiar to Blake and caused her to have a look of excitement in her eyes.
