The Great Hall was crowded, packed full of nobles all dressed to impress.
The tension in the air was so heavy she felt it settle into her lungs as soon as she stepped through the door.
No one noticed her as she stepped through the door. The hall was far too busy to notice just a maid come and go.
At the grand, decorated table she approached and placed the platter before the empty chair at the head of the table. She could only guess that was the place to put it because everyone else already had their food.
Then, quietly, she moved back to the wall and found a position there where she could watch the room while mostly undetected.
Particularly whenever that person would come in.
Caleb gave her tips for what behavior to pay attention to.
Behavior of those with nefarious purposes, presumably.
"Those involved with the poisoning will exhibit nervous and twitchy behavior." Caleb says, smiling charmingly.
