Snowball was so unhappy with her leaving that he had a little kitten meltdown when she tried to leave without him. She'd doubled back immediately upon hearing him yowling and panicking at the door - ignoring the angry guards who disliked her doubling back.
The poor kitten calmed down once she had him in her arms, at least, and she nuzzled her baby with her cheek as she walked.
Once in Caleb's room, she set the kitten down in the prince's lap.
He gently pet the little kitten. "I shall do my utmost to distract him while you're busy." Caleb said.
Her husbands should have been better set up to do this - there were four of them, and he was very familiar with them, after all - but he was being just too fussy in that room.
She suspected it was partly because he felt too cooped up in that room, being unable to run around and explore while they were in house arrest. Prince Caleb's room was, at least, a new place.
Probably.
