"I'm not impressed." He said and Kalina guessed the laughter in his words. "Still." She returned, trying to match his amusement and completely failing. That man had a knack for annoying her, that was for sure. ¿Why? Kalina didn't know for sure. She felt a little stupid about the discovery, but there was something else. Something attracted her to him, that was undeniable.

Kalina stood numb as her mind reeled from images of the past and moments from the present. "How…?"
"I knew the moment I felt the taboo energy from Her Majesty that day in the imperial palace. I just felt this other thing now…" He finished referring to Valian without question.
¿Thing? Instinctively, deep within her, something jumped out in protest.
"How…?" It was the only thing she could say. Then she felt protective arms behind her. A broad chest covered in metal. Valian.
"It's alright." He told her. "You have to calm down treasure."
"And you have to stop messing around, Kru." Irion counterattacked through his teeth.
"I'm going to let this slide, Eriá, just out of consideration for my Pair."
"Pair?" Irion glanced at Kalina, looking kind of lost.
