20 Re:Negotiation

(A / N: Hello, here author-san! I have been away for some time, but I have returned and upload chapters again, not only to this fanfic. Before you start reading, I must tell you that I have changed my way of writing over time, and I am proud to say that I have improved a lot: D, but soon I will be reissuing the old chapters adapting them to this way of narrating.)

"Natsuki Subaru, I challenge you to a duel," Julius said with annoyance, normally he would not stoop to asking for a duel explicitly, but now with feelings of annoyance, he was asking for a duel against Subaru.

"What a joke. Do you really want to fight someone because you feel upset and humiliated? Stop losing the face of true knights." Subaru said as he got up from his seat.

"I reject your request, I have better things to do besides wasting my time with useless fights about honor and other nonsense," Subaru said as he walked outside.

Subaru really wanted to fight Julius, but it was better for him to avoid fighting Julius. This is because if he beats up Julius, Anastasia will probably not support or help Subaru at any point, and he is sure that Crusch's army alone and Subaru's own strength would be no match for a whale.

Maybe after the events, he and Julius have a battle, but everything will depend on fate. (A / N: I am fate xD.)

Subaru went to the hotel where he and Emilia's campaign stayed.

When Subaru entered, he found Rem drinking tea while reading what appeared to be a newspaper.

"Oh Subaru, you've come back. Where have you been? I thought you'd arrive earlier."

"I went to training, but it got out of hand and ended up at the castle," Subaru said disinterestedly.

Rem spit out the tea and looked at Subaru in surprise.

"The one thing you shouldn't have done you did!" Rem yelled angrily at Subaru.

"Don't worry, she didn't seem upset, even the clown didn't," Subaru said confidently.

Rem nearly choked upon hearing Subaru's comment calling out for Roswaal in such a derogatory and humiliating way.

"Well, I'm a little sleepy. Being around important people can stress you out." Subaru said releasing a sigh of relief as he went to his room.

Subaru got up a few hours later, only to see that everyone was gathered in the room.

"Subaru-Kun ..." Emilia said with some disappointment.

"I already told you, didn't I? Besides, I asked you what I should do, but Roswaal told me to stay. From my position, you should be angry with him, not with me." Subaru said causing Emilia to redirect her anger to someone else.

Surprisingly Emilia was influenced by Subaru, and now she seemed disgusted with Roswaal.

"Whatever. You must get everything ready today, tomorrow morning we will leave." Emilia said leaving the subject behind.

"Oh yeah about that, I've decided to stay in the capital for a while ... About a week." Subaru said disinterestedly, but this was not all.

"I would also appreciate it if you would leave Rem with me," Subaru said making everyone drop their jaws.

'Why would Subaru want to stay in the capital with Rem !?' Emilia wondered, not knowing that she was a little jealous herself.

'Why the hell does he want me to stay?' All kinds of thoughts ran through Rem's mind, but the craziest was to think that he was from the witch cult and was going to kill Rem, but since I had no proof of that, I discarded the idea, although not entirely.

'T-This should even be happening !?' Roswaal wondered remembering all the changes Subaru was making. Many of the things that Subaru had done did not appear in his gospel.

So the day passed. The next morning, Emilia and Roswaal left the capital, while Rem and Subaru stayed behind.

"Well, now the important thing begins." Subaru declared as he started to walk alongside Rem.

"What are you going to do now?" Rem asked.

"Well all I'm gonna do now is a secret between you and me," Subaru said making Rem have crazy ideas again.

Subaru and Rem were in front of Crusch's mansion in the capital.

A Guard was waiting for instructions on whether to let them in or not.

Wilhelm quickly appeared granting them entry to the mansion.

"So what brings you here," Crusch asked Subaru, as she sat at her desk waiting for Subaru's answer.

Now that Subaru was in front of Crusch, a window appeared in front of him with a message.

[A curse is trying to manifest itself on the user, do you want to disable it?]

Subaru assumed it was Crusch's ability, and decided to disable it for the time being.

"I have come here to learn sword art from Wilhelm-san," Subaru said with excitement in his eyes.

Crusch did not see lies in his words, mainly because she could not and had not realized it. Still, Crusch wouldn't accept a deal that didn't give him anything in return.

"Don't worry, I know this will take Wilhelm's time away from his job, and as compensation, I have something that could be useful to his army," Subaru said taking out a bottle from his Inventory.

This bottle was a health potion, of the highest quality.

"This is of my own invention. I call it Instant Regeneration Potion. It is the same as using healing magic, but if you drink it you will heal quickly." Subaru said with a convincing tone and even though Crusch found no trace of lies, she wasn't going to accept quickly.

"I can see that you still don't believe me ... Well, watch and marvel," Subaru said as he summoned his Raska Fang and cut off his finger.

Subaru's confident expression never left and he quickly drank the potion, his finger instantly sticking to his body.

Everyone was surprised, even Rem was impressed.

there were similar potions, but none were as fast and effective as this one.

"My finger joined me again, but I must tell you that this is because it was close, if the person does not have their limb close to it, the potion will create one, but this will make the person pass out from the pain from the bone reconstruction and the rest." Now they were even more impressed.

But there was still a problem, Subaru had only one.

"It really impresses me, the most I can do is buy it from you, it's just one and we could only use it in an extreme situation ..." Crusch said while concentrating on his thoughts.

"Who said it was just one?" Subaru asked pulling out about 50 bottles.

The bottles were large and you could heal well with a single drop, this treatment would never be repeated and Crusch knew it.

"I agree. There is no need to keep thinking about it." Crusch said with a smile.
