chapter 1

Juliette

months before.

I wake up smiling as always, and my dreams become stranger and, at the same time, beautiful. I was dreaming of a man I never met. Is it normal? I don't believe it.

I don't remember anything about my life after the accident, nor do I have any idea what it was like.

Mom doesn't talk much about it; she only knew that I woke up alive and disoriented. Inside the hospital, they also told me that I'm pregnant! I'm still taking it all in. It was a bit dangerous for me because I had to stay in bed for months until they told me if it was safe.

I caress my belly; it was difficult at first; my mom didn't want me to have it, but in the end I decided to continue with the pregnancy; something inside me, she told me that in the future she would do it. She will regret it. She surprised me even more when I found out they were going to be twins! It was a double surprise for me.

"Mom," I call her.

"Tell me, honey," she answers as she enters my room.

"Why don't you like to talk about the accident? ", she asked.

As she imagined, she seemed annoyed by my question.

"It's not time yet, honey; you have to rest," she said, looking at me. "The danger has not passed yet; the doctor recommended that you stay up to nine months."

That was true. I didn't want to put my babies in danger.

⇒ When they are out of danger, I will tell you everything you want to know, but don't think about anything for now.

The topic bothered her.

She hadn't told her my dreams either; she intrigued me a little about the man she was dreaming about. It was a nice dream; I started to like that man with blue eyes, and above all, I felt loved.

"I know, mom."

"Have you thought about names for the babies?" I ask, smiling.

I nodded. "Joseph and James " I said without hesitation.

In some dreams, I always name them, and they are familiar to me.

She looks at me horrified. "Where did you get those names?" She asks with interest.

I still don't feel safe telling him the truth.

"I don't know; they just came to mind," I lied.

"You better think of other names; those are horrible.

I deny, "Nick and Nicolás." I smiled.

She nods, pleased. I'm becoming more and more convinced that she's hiding something from me.

"I want to tell you something without bothering you, mom," I said, looking at her. She nodded. "Don't you think it's time for you to tell me the name of my babies' father?" She has the right to know.

"The babies' father is not someone I care about; he is a bad man. Why do you think you lost your memory? You had the accident because of him.

That hurts, so you don't have to know.

The next day.

"Good morning, mom," I say when I see her enter.

"How did you wake up, darling?"

"I feel good, babies move a lot" I caress my belly" Is it normal for her to feel like this?."

"What are you talking about?."

"I have the feeling that I have forgotten something important to me.

She shook her head. "Daughter, you heard it yourself from the doctor, your memories will come little by little, don't force yourself. Does your head hurt?."

Yes, I've even remembered some things, but you don't have to know that. I do not trust you.

"No, it's just that strange feeling" I lied.

"You have to be patient, you're stressed about this."

5:00 PM.

"You're so beautiful," he said, caressing my face. "I really like Juliett; please, she agrees to go out with me."

I waited a long time to hear those words from her mouth. I suspected that she liked me; however, she didn't have much confidence in men and was waiting for him to make the first move.

He and I had known each other for a long time, thanks to some friends we had in common.

His face blushed like mine; it made me more nervous.

I like him. Of course, my heart was pounding as he approached me.

"Let's go out," I answered, smiling. "I like you a lot; I'm glad it's reciprocal."

He smiled and brought his face closer, his nose next to mine. He kissed me, which he had wanted so much. His lips were soft.

I wake up looking at the ceiling. Who was he? And why was I dreaming about him? Then I understood it; my memories were beginning to come, and I was afraid of what I might find in them.

Joseph

"You have to accept it, honey; he won't come back," my mother said. "How long has it been?" After three years and no sign of her, maybe it's time to let her go.

She knew she was right, but Juliette is the most important thing to me. We have been together for over seven years; she wouldn't go down that path. I understood my mother's concern.

She only lived in the hope of finding her and bringing her home, although she knew that three years had already passed and that she would probably already have a new life. That was scarier.

In those years, she hired a secretary to help me with the work. No one except the police and Juliett's father knew about her pregnancy and had faith that he would find her. Even the police had stopped looking for her; that's what I thought, so I hired a private investigator.

He had to find her at any cost, no matter what he had to do.

"Mother, there are things you don't know, and you probably don't believe me, but she wouldn't leave like that," she said, smiling. "Stop trying to get me to stop looking for her because that's not going to happen."

She shook her head. "I hate seeing you suffer."

"It's worth it, when she has them with me."

It was time to tell the truth.

"Why do you speak in plural?" She looks at me confused.

"She is pregnant; surely someone took her against her will."

"Are you talking, seriously? My God."

I'm about to answer when my phone rings:

"Joseph, we have received news" he responds, agitated.

"What happened?."

"Juliett showed up, and I received a call saying where she was."

"What if it's fake? "Asked.

In those three years that we received false sightings, I no longer wanted to

be deluded.

"They sent me photos; it's real; Juliet is alive. "Right at that moment, I was alive again, my Juliet is alive.
