"So your parents are still in Kwahu?", my mum interrogates Mildra who looks scared.
"Yes Ma'am". She replies her
"The only reason I'm allowing you stay in this house is because I don't want any scandal to erupt because of what has happened between you and my son, We're a high profile and respected family in this country and we will maintain it as such."
"My son here will be marrying Nina by the end of the year and it has been planned already. I want you to keep shut about my son having an affair with you."
"Apart from Peter whom I trust, I don't want anyone to know about this, not even my daughter 'Becca'".
"Do you understand what I just said?"; My mum looks intently at Mildra who is fidgeting with her dress.
"Yes please." She replies my mom with her head bowed down.
"Okay, you can leave to your room." My mum continues.
Mildra hurriedly stands up from the chair amidst shuffling her feet as she leaves my mum and I.
"Mum you shouldn't have been hard on her, She's a minor and needs love and care." I backlash at what my mother said and she realizes I'm annoyed with the way she spoke to Mildra.
"Prince, my baby; don't be angry with me. The harm has already been done and the only thing we can do is to make sure she remains silent about what ensued between you two."
"You can serve a jail term if it gets to the public because she's still a minor and imagine the humiliation it will cause this family; not forgetting Nina's Father is the governor in this town and it will affect their reputation too."
"I've already talked and sorted everything out with your dad about 'the girl' so don't worry about him".
"Yes Mummy," I respond and give her a goodnight kiss leaving her bedroom.
