Chapter 16

"Here is your room, the washroom is over there. You can put your clothes into the closet". The maid shows Mildra into the bedroom she'll be staying.

She's mesmerized by how plush and splendid the room looks. She admires the king-sized bed neatly tucked in with white sheets and fluffy pillows situated in the middle of the room, a huge mirror opposite the bed stand alongside a nicely carved blue sofa and a side table at the corner of the room.

"Thank you", Mildra shows appreciation as the maid opens the closet to unpack her clothes.

"You're welcome, My name is Janet". She introduces herself to Mildra and bids her goodnight as she leaves the room.

I'm so tired, Let me go take a bath then sleep, she murmurs to herself as she sits on the bed and glances around the room one more time.

She heads towards the bathtub, strips her clothes and steps into the bathtub.

Ouchh! She screams when she turns on the shower and steaming hot water gushes onto her skin.

She steps back, turns the shower on again and feels the water with her hands this time around.

The water is still hot and she becomes perplexed on what to do next.

"How do they operate this thing?" After deliberating for sometime she realizes the tap can be turned in a clockwise and anticlockwise direction. The latter giving cold water and the former hot water.

"Hahaha😂😂😂, How stupid I am," she laughs at herself when she realizes it's a two-way system.

She takes her bath, finds a comfy attire from the closet and retires to bed.
