Chapter 5: I Did Love You

Liana

It's already dismissal, Steven and I will talk to fix things up, regarding what happened last night. I told Chantal that Steven and I will talk so that she can go home early. I was already on my way to the parking lot and saw Steven waiting at his car. God! he's so handsome... I love this guy so much I'm willing to forgive and forget what happened last night. Steven saw me, we got inside of his car and he already starts the engine to drive me at my part time job. When were already half way from the resto bar where I work, suddenly he parked the car at the side of the road.

"Look Liana I'm sorry" he started

"I forgive you Steven, let's just forget what happened" I replied

"I'm sorry Liana I can't do that" he said with such venomous taste in his mouth.

"Why? you agreed to talk to me because we're going to fix things right?" I asked. We are going to fix our relationship right that is why we are here?

"Yes Liana, I want to fix it... that's why I'm letting you go" he finally said. That it sent a sting to my chest.

"Why are you doing this to me Steven? Am I not enough for you?!" I can't

"It's not like that Liana...."

"Then what is it?! Spill it out!"

"Elissa was right beside me when you have no time for me Liana, Elissa was there when you're not, You don't have time with me, you prioritize your studies and job too much you forgot that you have a boyfriend, Elissa made me happy when you’re not around. That is why I'm letting you go so that you will do everything freely" My eyes burst to tears.

"Steven! you know why I study and work hard! I'm not rich like you and the others, you know that... I study hard, I work hard so I can continue to study at Northern University with you and with the others but still I find a little time just to be with you" I reasoned out.

"Little is not enough Liana, I also have my needs" He said.

"I thought you'll understand me Steven, you are willing to throw away our two years just because of the time management?" I'm really trying hard to be equals because we have different social status.

"I did Liana I did, I understand why you study and work hard, but I'm already at my limit" I guess this is where he gives up on me.

"Do you love me Steven?" I ask.

"I did Liana, my mind says that I love you but my heart keeps saying that I Love Elissa more" I cried hard when I heard those words.

The moment he tries to hold my hand I opened the door of his car and left him. I thought everything will be okay once we talk but it became worse, we broke up permanently instead.

I've been working and studying hard just to stay with him to never leave his side, why can't he understand that I'm doing all this just to be with him? Does Elissa really make him so happy that Steven will ditch me for her? I feel big rain drops all over my uniform, Really! Rain! This day keeps getting worse.... Right at the middle of nowhere someone called my name "Liana" I looked at that person, what is he doing here?
