Works Harder

"The Key to White Moonlight Success" is the title of a teen novel that is full of twists and turns until the protagonist finally reaches the top. The protagonist Hayashi Izumi comes from a wealthy middle-class family, but he is an illegitimate child. His mother was a maid who stumbled upon a young master, and he only entered the Hayashi family when he was 12 years old after living a hard life of poverty because his mother was kicked out of the Hayashi family first.

Unfortunately, the Hayashi family's illegitimate children are not just him, they are gathered to be screened as successors. Because the current head of the family Hayashi Takedo is not at all interested in marriage despite being 40 years old. He royally provided enough facilities, just never really considered them his children, no affection. All will get credit if they work hard.

Izumi made the mistake of picking a fight with a child of the Miya family, even though he was right though. The Miya family are 3 big families in town A that should not be offended, as a result as a reflection Izumi is sent to attend school in town F where the other protagonists live.

Maruyama Junan's background is not so good either. He grew up with his waiting mother in a bad neighborhood, gang fights were everywhere, where the strong ruled. His mother died when he was 7 years old, leaving him to live in their small tenement apartment with his grandmother to take care of him. Junan struggled with what was left of his elementary school teacher mother's savings, he joined gangs, worked in clubs and did many dirty jobs in desperation to survive.

His life was never peaceful and breathable. He had no time to pay attention to his appearance, until Izumi came into his life despite being treated harshly, the man never gave up on approaching him. Unfortunately, Junan's life is not completely happy when he feels in love. Akibara Hiro also liked the transfer student and hated Junan when the 2nd grade won his first place.

Trap after trap, his reputation ruined at school, no one believed him when he was accused of leaking exam questions, while Junan did not want Izumi to get involved just for helping him. To Izumi, Junan is just a rough guy who has a hard time expressing his feelings, Izumi never knows the hardships of Junan's life. Aito's small role helped prove Junan's innocence. At the end of his third year of school Akibara teamed up with an enemy gangster to have Junan die on the spot.

An illegal, drug-dealing transaction in which the enemy framed him as a scapegoat caught up in the law with the police. Junan has to solve the problem by leaving school, increasingly dealing with dark organizations until he gets a strong enough position. On Izumi's graduation day, they meet and promise to see each other again.

Izumi continues his interest in studying business by taking over the family business overseas. While Izumi slowly found his success, all his business work became very easy to achieve, earning excessive profits and succeeding in becoming a wealthy young generation with a bright future. Behind all that smooth sailing is Nakagama Junan, the yakuza heir of the Nakagama family. An out-of-wedlock child whose father was rediscovered. Spending one night stands with his mother, Nakagawa Reizo had no idea that he had a grown son since Junan turned 19 and joined the yakuza.

Their differences are like dark and light, moreover Izumi never contacted him directly again made Junan have to bury his meetings and love. Only a white moonlight in his heart, silently helping. Loneliness and cruelty skyrocketed, Nakagawa Junan was famous as a cold-blooded yakuza until the end of his life without a partner.

Aito closed the book he was reading. Although he got memories and summaries of the world he was in now, but he felt very different after finishing the storybook. Aito didn't know that Junan was that miserable.

Even if the story only described their meeting in high school that continued with their separation to their respective careers. All those years Junan waited for Izumi's return, but was forgotten by the protagonist. This is not a romantic story at all!

How lonely Junan was alone until the end of his life. He only felt how it was to live without family and friends for a few years before dying, it was really bad. And Aito promised not to let Junan feel that way again.

Why come just to warm his heart for a moment? Even with Izumi's love letter that he found, they weren't dating at all. Izumi would still be happy in the future, so what about Junan? As the protagonist's friend, he wouldn't let Junan die of loneliness!

Aito put the book given by the system back on the shelf. Preparing to roll up the blanket to fall asleep comfortably on his soft bed. He had to work hard to increase the protagonist's favorability tomorrow.

. . .

Since that first day it was not uncommon for egg or meat sandwiches and peach juice to grace their back table. Junan's table to be exact.

Aito would pretend to be busy doing his schoolwork when Junan arrived. The food was not taken immediately, Junan just raised an eyebrow at the breakfast left on his desk. Then still doing the same thing looking out the window.

He could only sigh, praying that one day Junan would accept the breakfast he gave him. Sometimes Aito took turns choosing the flavor of the sandwich he gave him, just because they had the same fondness for peach juice. He didn't think Junan would suspect that Aito knew his favorite, sometimes he always brought peach juice everywhere.

When he returned from the cafeteria. The breakfast that had been left out all morning was no longer on the table, Aito always wondered if Junan ate it or threw it away. At least for almost a week there was no system notification of Junan's increasing goodwill. This is going to go on for a while, Aito thought listlessly.

However, that morning saw the same meat loaf and juice for almost a week. Junan stopped at him desk. Instead of going in and sitting down as usual it was just that Aito didn't really notice the small change he continued the habit of doing homework that would come every morning before class.

"Hey ... Did you hear? Stop sending me that damn food. I don't need your gifts." Junan's voice was not loud, but it was quiet enough in the morning that the few students who were there heard him. They shuddered in horror.

Aito was stunned to find Junan's grim look. He remembered how the description did not explain Junan even unscathed taking out a warehouse of gangsters who tried to surround him.

That fierce gaze seemed about to eat him up. "That's just it ... as I explained for us to be good peers. I-I never saw you eat breakfast so I bought it without any intentions," Aito explained in a hurry, looking down. Not daring to make eye contact.

Looking at the shrunken back of Aito's neck, so fragile and small. Like a herbivore threatened by a carnivore. Junan's gloomy gaze deepened.

"Not needed," he said again only to get a hasty nod from the other person. Junan sat in his chair as usual, ignoring the curious gazes of his classmates who were watching.

All day Aito felt lethargic, not at all energized. His attempts to get close, to send breakfast failed, how could he be friends with the protagonist? Aito ruffled his hair in frustration.

Forced to think of another way while walking out of the classroom. His wrinkled face looked unfocused. Dug! His foot accidentally kicked a trash can, causing its contents to scatter onto the corridor floor. Aito frantically tried to clean up the trash-splattered floor.

He went back to the deserted classroom to get the cleaning supplies. Cleaning up the mess, it was a really unlucky day with nothing good happening. As soon as he returned to clean it all up, a familiar pink box, wasn't it the peach juice he usually bought? Side by side with the plastic sandwich wrappers.

Wait ... wait, they were eaten. Yes, not just thrown in the trash. Had Junan been eating the food he sent? He was in a good mood again.

Aito realized one thing, it turned out that Junan was tsudere.
