The spiraling wind roared in the air as a burly man screamed and was sent flying backward.
Logan shook his hand. Rasengan didn't have the same aggressive thrust as the Chidori, but each technique had its strengths and weaknesses. The spiraling force of the Rasengan made it extremely difficult to disperse and, in certain situations, is even more powerful.
"Everyone, be careful of his strange Jutsu!"
Dozens of Samurai surrounded Logan. An elderly man clad in heavy armor, his face twitching as he watched yet another skilled family member get effortlessly sent flying, so he shouted this warning as if facing a formidable enemy.
The crackling sound of electricity filled the air. The blue light flickered calmly and silently, as if it were an extension of the cloaked stranger whose face remained hidden.
"Don't panic, everyone..." The elder, who had significant influence, recognized this as a common tactic of Ninjas. He was about to remind the young people in the clan, but before he could say the second half of the sentence, the intruder suddenly moved.
He moved faster than the elder had ever been in his prime. The electric light seemed to leave an afterimage, and the subsequent groans indicated that more clan members were falling.
"Who are you?!"
But there was no need for further questioning or pursuit. The strategy of capturing the leader to subdue the rest was clear, so the lightning-clad intruder charged directly at him. The attack was the response. A moment ago, he seemed far away, but in the next moment, the tip of a black kunai was already at the elder's face.
The elder roared. He couldn't see through the intruder's unnaturally fast movements, but relying on his experience from countless battles, he pressed his katana down. Ding! The blade clashed with the blood-soaked kunai, the sound rang from the intense impact as he managed to block it.
Logan was slightly surprised. This was the first time his attack had been blocked since entering. The elder hidden under the heavy armor displayed strength and agility that belied his age. Logan's single-handed pressure nearly forced the elder to his knees, but the old man held firm.
Engaging multiple opponents simultaneously, it seemed Logan was cutting through them effortlessly. However, once his momentum was halted, danger immediately loomed.
The other Samurai filled the gap, swinging their sword neatly to form a space that couldn't accommodate even half of Logan's body.
There was no blind spot, but Logan still remained calm, locking eyes fearlessly with the elder.
The elder sensed something was wrong. From within the cloak surrounded by blades, the face he glimpsed showed no panic. And from the movements of Logan's body, not pressed to its limits, he knew that the other party wasn't using his full strength.
"Crackle!"
The blue light suddenly flared up, as if a bulb was suddenly infused with a high voltage. The faint flickering electricity grew into a terrifyingly bright thunderbolt, spreading out and entangling everyone within a few meters.
There were screams, and the bright katanas fell to the ground before they could show their sharpness.
Chidori Nagashi, an electrical current that attacks nearby enemies, can be regarded as an extension of Logan's use of his own Lightning Release. Before this, he had experimented with similar variations during his battle with Orochimaru in Otogakure. And now that he had a lot of free time to travel, when he was tired of practicing Forbidden Techniques, Logan fine-tuned these techniques to adjust his mood. With the basics in place, perfecting them wasn't difficult.
In this way, advanced variations like Chidori Senbon and Chidori Sharp Spear used by Sasuke later in the original work are naturally not a problem for him.
"Damn it, it must be those traitorous branch family's members who hired this Ninja."
After the latest quarrel between the two sides, the branch family collectively moved away from their original residence and could not be contacted. The local forces subtly hinted at the main family leaders that something was amiss.
But they didn't expect such a ruthless attack. The surrounding warriors twitched and fell to the ground after being paralyzed by the electricity. Amidst the burning smell, Logan reduced the output of his Lightning Release, and an elderly voice reached his ears.
The old samurai, trembling from the Chidori Nagashi's effects, was surprisingly still standing. Seeing this, Logan tilted his head.
"Hah!"
As if he had somewhat adapted to the electric shocks, the old samurai's whole body tensed as he moved his blade inch by inch, his face turning red from exertion.
"Hurry up and help the Clan Head!" someone shouted, and more people rushed into the empty environment. Several of them are carrying long bows, so they drew the arrows and shot at Logan.
Swish, swish--
The arrows fired by the powerful bow were very fast. Logan immediately moved, spinning around in a way that seemed impossibly precise to ordinary people. With two swift swipes in mid-air, he cut the arrows down.
The arrowheads flew off, and the broken wooden shafts with tail feathers rolled on the ground.
"Ding!"
In one fluid motion, Logan, while spinning, switched the grip of his left-hand kunai and pressed it down on the old Samurai again.
The old Samurai was stunned by this maneuver, and then he became extremely annoyed as if he was being toyed with. Then, he put all his strength into it, and with a ripping sound, he finally managed to redirect the black kunai. After that, he immediately pulled away and took a deep breath. He kept his eyes focused and moved forward instead of retreating.
Logan didn't take him seriously. Electric light flickered behind him, and numerous thin Lightning Attribute Chakra senbons formed and ruthlessly shot out.
The sound of the senbons hitting flesh rang, and the ones with the bows were the first to fall. The old Samurai's face twisted in anger as he thrust his katana towards Logan's face.
The kunai in Logan's left hand parried the advancing katana, stepping aside while his right-hand attack was about to strike.
"Haa!"
The old samurai let out a roar. What had seemed like a desperate stab was actually a feint. His refined technique, honed over many years, shone through in the counterattack. In the brief second that followed, the clash of blows echoed continuously.
The opponent suddenly shifted the rhythm, and Logan followed. But what he didn't expect was that when he parried the attack again, the old Samurai swept across with great force.
Clang!
The metal clashed, and Logan's kunai shattered.
The scene turned silent for a while. Some fallen samurai, clutching their wounds from the senbons, watched nervously. The shattered kunai brought them hope, and the flicker of delight in their eyes showed that their undefeated Clan Head might turn the tide.
"Ninjas only rely on their tricks. When it comes to close-quarters swordsmanship, don't embarrass yourself!" The old Samurai gasped heavily, but still proudly said.
Logan came to his senses, 'This old man still got two some skills, but…'
"Swordsmanship?"
Logan's really young voice appeared for the first time, making everyone tremble in shock.
Throwing away the shattered kunai, Logan's hand reached for the short sword strapped to his thigh, "Didn't you notice I also carry a sword?"
…
A flash of white light, too fast to see, resulted in another broken blade clattering to the ground.
The old samurai's eyes lost their light, and his aura of absolute strength he had moments ago vanished as his sword broke. He fell back powerlessly, hitting the ground, and didn't get up again.
Logan felt the explosive power from the brief burst just now. He was still unable to achieve the level of Silver Flash now, so he could cheat by using Lightning Attribute Chakra to weaken the unfinished attack equivalent to the iai technique, which was enough to defeat the proud Samurai.
After taking a look at the old man on the ground, who had lost his fighting spirit, Logan decided not to continue, 'This was enough.'
He turned around and, just like when he arrived, quietly walked away. The wealthy client who commissioned this job had shown some mercy, and didn't ask him to go on a killing spree. Despite the intense battle just now, few had died.
He had come and gone mysteriously, leaving behind only a chaotic scene and a group of confused hearts, unable to trace the Ninja who had come only for the commission.
