Chapter 76: Ward's Frustration
The shuttle lab was abuzz with activity when Coulson walked in, interrupting the heated discussion that was taking place between Ward, Skye, Fitz, and Simmons. The tension in the room was palpable, and Ward's frustration was evident. Fitz and Simmons were arguing fervently about the implications of the artifact, while Skye tried to better understand what was happening.
"I don't understand why you can't see the importance of this!" Ward exclaimed, clearly frustrated. "If we had a little more combat experience, we could have handled the situation more effectively." Fitz turned to Ward with a defiant look.
"And what do you suggest, Ward? That we become combat experts overnight?" Fitz replied in an irritated tone. "We are scientists, not soldiers. We have our own set of skills that are essential to understanding what we are dealing with here." Simmons, visibly irritated, joined in the conversation.
— And besides, it's not like you're the only one with an important skill set! — Simmons retorted. — What we're doing here is crucial to global security. Our skills are valuable and we shouldn't be diminished because of it.
Skye, who had been listening to the discussion, tried to intervene.
"Look, maybe we just need to find a balance. Everyone has something to contribute and we need to work together to solve this," Skye suggested, trying to calm things down.
Coulson, realizing that the situation was becoming a little more heated than desired, decided to intervene.
"Guys, let's calm down," Coulson said, his voice firm and authoritative. "Everyone has a crucial role here. Ward, you were a member of DEVGRU, speak five languages and are a level 8 specialist. Simmons, you have two doctorates and Fitz, you're a physics genius. Each of you contributes uniquely to the team."
Ward, still a little frustrated, tried to explain his point of view.
— I just want to make sure everyone is prepared for any situation. Sometimes having a little more combat training can be helpful, especially in situations like this.
Coulson looked at Ward and then at Fitz and Simmons.
"Simmons, Fitz, I understand that combat is not your specialty, and Ward, I understand that you would like to have more complete support. The key here is to work together and leverage each other's strengths," Coulson said. "It's important that everyone feels valued and that their skills are utilized to the best of their ability."
Fitz crossed his arms, still irritated.
"But we can't just ignore the fact that we're dealing with something potentially dangerous and that everyone's safety is at stake," Fitz stated.
Coulson nodded.
"I agree. And that's why we need to find a way to integrate our skills effectively. What we need to do is solve this together," Coulson said, looking at each member of the team.
With that, Coulson paused and prepared to leave the lab.
— Each of you is vitally important to this team. If something isn't working, we need to address it and find a way forward. — Coulson concluded. — Ward, continue with your duties and help ensure the artifact is protected. Fitz and Simmons, focus on understanding the artifact and how it can be neutralized. Skye, continue analyzing the data we have.
Coulson left the lab, leaving the team to resolve their differences. The silence that followed was broken by Skye, who tried to calm the atmosphere.
"Hey, I may not have as much experience as you, but I also have skills that can be useful." — Skye said, trying to ease the tension. — And I'm here to learn and help in any way I can.
Ward, still visibly irritated, looked at Skye and then at Fitz and Simmons.
"I just want us all to be able to work together without letting our frustrations get in the way." — Ward said, trying to calm himself down. — We all have our skills and each of us has something important to contribute.
Fitz looked at Ward and then back at Simmons.
"I agree. And despite our differences, we need to come together to solve this," Fitz said, trying to find common ground.
Simmons nodded, still a little tense, but understanding Ward's point of view.
"Let's do the best we can and work together," Simmons said, trying to be optimistic.
Skye smiled, relieved to see the team starting to come together again.
"Then let's do this. We're all here for a reason and we can make this work," Skye said, encouraging the team.

"Okay, let's focus on solving the problem and making sure we're doing the best we can," Ward said, trying to keep a positive tone.
They returned to their respective tasks. The atmosphere in the lab was calmer, and everyone was committed to overcoming the difficulties and solving the artifact's problem. The tension had subsided, and the team was ready to face whatever came next, united in their common goal.
