Chapter 34: Test

Another month passed, and during that span of time Gohan was focused on mastering the Ozaru form by putting his theory into practice.

First of all, he learned how to make the power ball. It wasn't difficult, but it was a technique that consumed a significant amount of energy to do.

With his great Ki mastery that was not a problem for him. Therefore, creating a power ball every day, he began to train.

His uncle Raditz watched him as he continued with his personal training. And so time passed, now there was only one month left for the great battle against the saiyans.

"We don't have time kid, we have to test if you're ready" Raditz spoke looking at Gohan, who was meditating with a power ball in both hands.

"Well, if something goes wrong you'll have to destroy the power ball" Gohan replied standing up and extending his left arm to launch the ball.

"What could go wrong?" Raditz asked in turn with a smile and Gohan threw the sphere into the sky, 'I hope nothing, or it will be the end of me'

"Blow up and mingle!" Gohan yelled closing the palm of his left hand and then the sphere in the sky grew bigger, like a moon...

Gohan's eyes made contact with the sphere in the sky, absorbing the 17 million zenos and Raditz avoided looking at the artificial moon.

"Keep all the anger inside you and stay calm boy, you should be used to the zenos by now" Raditz advised looking at him.

Then, Gohan's body began to enlarge and his clothes got destroyed. The Saiyan metamorphosis had already begun.

A shade of brown fur spread over his body, and his eyes turned crimson like blood. Shortly after, the mutation finished in him.

"He became Ozaru... kid, are you alright? Answer me" Raditz looked at his nephew with the wish that his sanity was intact.

Gohan Ozaru was still, he didn't move an inch. But suddenly, he lowered his head and his eyes met Raditz, who he stared at.

"Uncle...Raditz..." Gohan slowly uttered reaching out his arm towards him. Little by little he was regaining consciousness in Ozaru form.

"What a scare you gave me dwarf, now you have to relax and adapt to Ozaru form for a moment" Raditz said crossing his arms with a smile.

Gohan didn't say anything else. He sat down, standing there. That scared Raditz even more, that's why he himself didn't lower his guard before his nephew.

"Uncle Raditz...destroy it..." Gohan mumbled putting his head in his hands and Raditz looked at him somewhat bewildered, "DESTROY IT!!"

But suddenly Gohan got up and started beating his chest, mimicking the movements of a gorilla. Powerful roars erupted from his jaws.

"He lost control dammit!" Raditz exclaimed walking a few feet away, "Calm down Gohan! Control those primitive Saiyan instincts!"

"GROAARR" Gohan responded with a powerful growl and released a Ki blast from his mouth, completely ignoring Raditz's words.

'If it continues at this rate it will destroy the planet, I'll have to destroy the power ball' thought Raditz flying towards a distant place, "I'll be here..."

Raditz was speechless as the Ozaru appeared in front of him. He had to raise his power to get out of there by flying quickly.

'Despite having lost reason, this brat retains his ability to sense Ki' the saiyan thought with a bitter smile.

Raditz flew with his power to the max and gathered all of his energy, but the downside was that Gohan was chasing him fast.

"I don't care if he catches me anymore, life is risks" Raditz stopped and extended his arm towards the sphere in the sky, "Shining Friday!!"

Flush!

A violet blast collided with the power ball in the sky, but just then Gohan's gigantic hand caught Raditz.

"Let go of me dwarf!" Raditz yelled trying to free himself from him but the difference in strength was abysmal. And suddenly, Gohan raised his arm.

PAM!

He threw Raditz's body against a mountain, before his body returned to normal since the artificial moon had been destroyed.

"Ugh... brat, that really hurt me" Raditz said getting up slowly and walked towards the body of his nephew lying on the ground.

"Uncle Raditz... sorry" Gohan whispered before falling unconscious, he used all his strength to keep control of the Ozaru form but he couldn't.

"He's defenseless…" Raditz muttered. He could finish him off, betray him, and return to his saiyan companions now that he became powerful.

But no, he had already left that life. In just two months Gohan had offered him much more than Vegeta and Nappa had in two decades with them...

"You're just a dumb dwarf, but I owe you too much" Raditz said taking him in his arms and walked away looking for a place to rest.

"That's all that happened," Gohan commented after finishing his account of how Raditz joined the gang, "Uncle Raditz is a good person."

"Oh, I get it, did you manage to master the transformation?" Master Roshi asked curiously and the boy nodded at his words.

"I turned into Ozaru for the second time, and well everything was different then" Gohan answered smiling, "And that time, I didn't grab uncle Raditz"

"Hahahaha!" The laughter of all those present echoed in the ship. For a moment, they forgot about all the problems ahead of them.

"Hmph!" Raditz snorted crossing his arms at the laughter, "You should focus on the trip to Namek instead of giggling like kids"

"Everything is ready, so there is no reason to stress" Krillin commented with a smile on his face, "I'm sure everything will be fine on Namek"

Raditz was going to say something to him, but a look from Gohan stopped him. He mustn't tell them anything about the terrible Frieza, at least not yet.

"Hey dad, how was it for you with King Kai?" Gohan asked smiling. He already knew what happened in the original series. But maybe here it was different.

"Very well, it took me three months to arrive but I learned various techniques such as the Kaiō-ken and the Spirit Bomb (Genki-dama)" answered his father looking at him.

'That explains why he was able to use a Kaiō-ken times five without much trouble, I guess that's good' Gohan thought calmly.

"Is that last one a sphere made of Genki?" Raditz asked curiously and his younger brother nodded in confusion. How did he know?

"How do you know?" Goku asked him.

"Hmpf, you learn things with this brat here" Raditz shrugged, "The other one is what you used against Vegeta, isn't it?"

"Yes, that is the Kaiō-ken, which allows to increase strength, speed, agility and senses" Goku answered and everyone's eyes widened at this.

"That's amazing Goku!" Krillin exclaimed.

"Haha, but the problem is that if I increase my Ki to a level that my body can't handle, I will get damaged and in the worst case, I could die"

"That's why you need to have a good control of Ki, right now I can resist a Kaiō-ken times five" Goku informed.

"It's not a recommended technique for long fights, unless you have those magical beans with you" Raditz indicated and Goku nodded.

"Hey Dad, could you teach me, Krillin and Tienshinhan the Kaiō-ken technique? Please, it would be very useful!" asked the boy smiling.

Krillin and Tenshinhan looked at each other.

"But Gohan, it's quite dangerous, I'd be delighted but you could get hurt" Goku said trying to persuade him, but in vain.

"We had trained in the hyperbolic time chamber and our Ki control is good... we'll be fine dad I promise you" Gohan added

"Uh…" Goku considered for a moment, but so far Gohan had proved the truth of what he was saying, "Okay, I'll teach you"

"Cool!" Tienshinhan yelled, clenching his fists, 'Increasing my strength five times, despite the risks it brings, is a formidable opportunity!'

Gohan was very pleased to see Krillin and Tienshinhan excited. He always wondered why in the manga they didn't learn the Kaiō-ken.

"Before you teach them my technique, they will have to pass my test" King Kai's voice was heard again and Goku smiled nervously at that.

"Test?" Krillin asked confused.

"You'll have to make me laugh with a very funny joke" King Kai said sternly and everyone fell back upon hearing such a test.

"Is that your master?" Raditz turned to Goku, who nodded nervously scratching the back of his head.

"Alright, I'll start King Kai" Gohan said determinedly, "What do you call an alligator in a vest?" asked the boy.

"Hmmm... I don't know" said King Kai curious.

"An investigator!" Gohan spoke leaving everyone present with a drop of sweat for such a mediocre joke, 'It's clear that he's going to make him laugh'

"Hahaha! An alligator in a vest... is an investigator!" King Kai started laughing like crazy at Gohan's joke, "You passed my test hahaha"
