6 Breaking the ice

As I walked towards HSA, I was greeted with a friendly smile by an employee, I smiled back and started my day in the training gym. Today is my first fitness test. All you can expect from running, obstacle courses and carrying sandbags while running. I was pretty much drained after the test. Thankfully, my result came out fine. I passed. Since I passed I better brush up my martial arts. I don't know when they will have a test but it doesn't hurt to practice.

As I head back to the change room, someone came and told me the boss wants to see me. Good, because I need to ask him about something too.

When I walked towards his office, Matt opened the door and said, "Anna, it's good you came. I have a favor to ask you. If you're up for it, let me know." This is weird, Matt usually doesn't ask anyone a favor. I replied, sure. Matt smiled and continued on, "I know you haven't talked much to Henrik ever since he trained you. But lately he isn't quite himself and I am not too sure why. Do you mind talking to him and ask him if anything is wrong? Because in this field of work, you're not allowed to let your emotion control you. It can be dangerous." I said yes since he is my trainer.

As we finished talking I asked Matt whether he knew anything about my father's death and he replied yes. He told me something was out of the ordinary and wanted to confirm something before telling me. I told him about Lukas' amnesia and the situation when he was in my dad's room without breaking too much confidentiality. Matt nodded and replied, "He will be useful, do you mind bringing him to me tomorrow?" I replied, yes.

When we finished talking, I returned to my office. Tired and sweaty, I decided to take a shower in the designated area. After I finished, finally I can breathe! Feels nice to freshen up!

As evening approaches, I decided to take a walk inside the building and saw different rooms such as cctv room with the most advanced computers, designated spy uniforms plus articles room and a huge library.

What a huge place!

As I walked back, I overheard a conversation and decided to sneak peek. As I listen to it, it sounds like Henrik is arguing with someone. I couldn't hear because I wasn't close enough. Few minutes later, I saw someone slapped Henrik. I couldn't believe it, how could they slap such a beautiful face? I thought to myself, Anna, you must be joking... you cannot fall in love, it's against the rules. I quickly shook it off. When I looked back, Henrik's falls to the ground. I decided to approach him in secret because I don't want to be discovered. As I approached him, his body trembled. I know I'm not allowed to fall in love but a hug wouldn't hurt right? I kneeled beside him and decided to give him a light hug and a rub on the back. After a while of silence, he began to cry. I never seen anyone this emotionless cry. Something must've hurt him. As he calmed down a bit, he apologized for being a nuisance but I replied, "You're not a nuisance, you are my partner. Although you may look cold and strict, you are my one and only partner. You can vent to me about anything." He gave a slight smile. He replied, "Thank you, Anna. Today was hard for me. My mother passed away and I didn't have a chance to say goodbye. My father is doing business and couldn't care less about my mother's death. A close relative came and she got emotional. That's how it happened." I didn't notice I was holding his hand because I saw the hands trembling so I decided to calm him down. I almost got emotional as he told me all of this. I said, "Thank you for telling me. I am sorry you are having a hard time. I'm here for you if you need me since we are partners." Henrik nodded and gave a smile... I never knew this cold dude can actually smile. Wow!
