5 New Friends

Bringing up her fists, Savina realized how stupid she looked. "What am I going to do, punch their swords?" She thought.

Taking a few steps back, Rio called to Iseul. "Hold them off for a minute, I've got a plan that'll help us reach land."

Wasting no time, Iseul leapt into the crowd of slavers, bringing his swords down on the ones closest to him.

Looking at Rio running back inside the ship, Savina called after him. "Rio! Where are you going?"

"I told you! I've got a plan!" He responded, turning a corner back to the cells.

Turning back to look at the fight, Savina put her hands back up, seeing that two slavers had broken off from the main pack who were focused on Iseul. She picked a sword up that had been knocked out of the grip of one of the men.

Squeezing the sword, Savina tried to recall what she had learnt about sword fighting. Swords were never her forte, even in her youth, Savina had more of an affinity for magic over the blade.

Just as one of the men were about to attack, a system notification popped up, obscuring Savina's view.

Message from Nama: Open the rest of the packages, the anticipation is killing me!

Savina's eyes widened as she was unable to see the incoming attack. Quickly ducking, the sword cut off some of Savina's hair.

Message from Nama: Oop sorry, not the best time to be messaging you lol

"Nama!" Savina shouted. "Of all times, not right now!" Thrusting forwards, the slaver easily blocked Savina's sloppy attack, as well as disarming her by twisting the blade out of her grasp.

"Shoot!" She swore, quickly thinking, Savina decided to trust in the Goddess' words. "System. Open all packages."

A screen appeared.

Would you like to open the Fallen Queen and Champion of Wisdom Package. Yes. No.

Punching the yes button, Savina felt her body filled with a familiar power.

"My magic. It's back."

Holding up her hand, a violet flame lit up in her palm, casually tossing it forward. It hit the man on Savina's right side, setting his breastplate on fire. The man attempted to put out the magic fire to no avail, his resulting slapping caused the fire to drop on the floor, setting the wood floor on fire.

Seeing his friend on fire, the other man charged at Savina.

"Oh noo, please don't hurt me." Flicking her hand, the violet fire jumped from the burning man slamming into the approaching man's back, setting his armour on fire.

"This is the power that gave the Champion of Justice pause. Don't pretend we're on the same level."

"Neia?" Turning around Savina paused seeing Rio, men and women ran past him flooding the deck of the ship.

"Oh hey Rio." Pulling on the fire, the flame left the men's bodies, returning to Savina's palm which she extinguished by closing her palm. "You let all the people in the cells out?"

"You have magic?" He shot back.

Hearing a thud behind her, Savina and Rio looked over to Iseul. Standing above a pile of bodies, Iseul leant on his swords.

"What now Rio-"

Grabbing Savina's wrist, Rio brought her to the edge of the ship. "Do you trust me?" He coyly asked.

Looking off the edge of the ship, Savina saw the coast. It was fairly close.

Hearing Rio's question, Savina stammered. "I-" Taking a moment to consider, Savina's memory took her back to her first life. Unable to trust the people around her, Savina had to persevere in a hostile environment for years, all in an attempt to better the kingdom she served. Nodding, Savina, looked away for a moment. "I trust you, Rio."

Happy she said yes, Rio smiled. "Good answer." Grabbing Savina's waist, he picked her up. "Now, how's your swimming?"

"Wai-" Before Savina could finish her sentence, Rio tossed her overboard. Looking to Iseul, he created a portal. "You may want to give me those."

Falling off of the side of the boat, Savina took a deep breath before she hit the water's surface. Hitting the water with a splash. Savina emerged after a moment, trying to catch her breath.

"That bastard." She swore. "I swear, when I get my hands on him-"

"Cannonball!" Leaping off the side, Rio crashed into the water, followed by Iseul moments later. As the two of them resurfaced.

Savina swam over to Rio. "You!" Lightly hitting him, Savina splashed water into his face. "Couldn't you have just asked me to jump instead of tossing me like an empty barrel?"

Chuckling, Rio splashed a bit of water back at Savina. "Oh come onnn, where's the fun in that."

Grabbing Rio's shoulder, Iseul pointed upwards, back to the ship's deck. People had followed Rio's lead and had started jumping off of the ship one after another.

Grabbing Savina's arms, Rio kicked his legs harder to keep afloat. "Come on, enough time-wasting, you can hit me more when we get to shore, I'd hate to be squashed after coming this far."

After a few minutes, the trio washed up on the shore, joined by many others who had escaped the slaver's ship.

Breathing heavily, Savina rested on her hands and knees as the waves lapped at her feet. "Rio!" She shouted.

Crawling next to her, Rio dropped onto his back. "Yeah Neia? What's up?"

Joining them, Iseul sat down, watching the ship in the distance. The remaining slavers seemingly had been able to regain control of the ship from those who chose to stay behind.

Sitting up, Savina splashed some more seawater in Rio's face. "Never do that again, or I'll be the one throwing you overboard."

"I'll make a note of that." He exhaled.

Standing up, Iseul stuck a thumb inland.

"Iseul's right." Standing, Rio patted the sand off of his body. "We should make ourselves scarce before those slavers try and regain any of their stock."

Joining the two, Savina waited until they had left the waves before speaking. "Hey, you two, stop moving. I want to try something quickly."

As Rio and Iseul stopped. Savina created two violet flames. "Before you ask, don't worry. You're more use to me alive." She smirked.

Throwing the flames onto their bodies. Rio was slightly shocked, Iseul didn't move as the flame started to cover his body.

"Neia what is this." Looking at the fire on his hands, Rio cocked his head to the side. "It's warm?"

"It's a special fire I can use, it only hurts those who are my enemy." Casting another small fireball, Savina put it on herself. "But when I cast it on my allies, I can give them certain buffs, or I can simply." Spreading her hands out, all the violet flame returned to her hand before extinguishing. "Use my highly advanced magic to dry our clothes." Savina giggled.

Checking his armour, Iseul gratefully nodded before continuing his walk.

Sighing, Rio stretched his arms for a moment. "That's fair, I did throw you overboard without asking permission."

Walking past Rio, Savina smirked. "And I won't let you forget it." Pausing, Savina gestured for Rio to go ahead. "There's just something I want to do quickly."

"Aightyo, don't take too long." Seeing that Iseul was still walking, Rio gently shook his head. "He might leave you behind." Rio added jogging to catch up to Iseul."

Watching them go. Savina sighed.

"System. What were my package rewards?"

A blue screen appeared before her eyes. Scanning the screen, a notification popped up.

Nama: Now that you've got away from those slavers, please don't get caught again. I can't do anything to stop other humans from affecting you.

Thinking, Savina reached out, a keyboard appeared. Unsure what this was, Savina recognized the letters on the screen. Tapping them, Savina quickly typed out a sentence. She found it wasn't too disimilar to writing a letter.

Savina: It wasn't my plan to get caught. They caught me by surprise. Literally

Nama: Literally. It's nice to see you've got some friends, and a party to travel with, and a Champion to boot.

Savina: What can you tell me about Iseul?

Nama: Iseul, Champion of the Hunt. His benefactor is Wuran, God of the Hunt. I don't know much about his Champion, but I and Wuran are on good terms. I'll reach out to him and find out how he's doing. Although I have a feeling, he will already know about your two's alliance.

Savina: Understood, I need to go and catch up with Rio and Iseul before they leave me behind.

Nama: Okay! Good luck Savina. I'm going to be out of contact for a few days, so stay safe <3

Closing the screens, Savina sighed.

Was this it, finally the start to her new life.

"Neia!" Rio called back to her. "Come onnn!"

Looking to where Rio was, Rio and Iseul had stopped to wait for her.

Feeling something well up inside her, Savina smiled. "I'm coming, I'm coming! You've got to stop worrying so much!"

Running up to her new friends. Iseul nodded to her as Rio grabbed her by the shoulder pulling her close.

"I've got plans, Neia. First we find a place to sleep, tomorrow the real fun begins. Us three, let's do this together." Rio cheered.

Nodding, Savina smiled even harder than before. "You lead the way, Rio. I'll be right behind you."
