I'm a Catgirl!

A man gets reincarnated to a fantasy world for the amusement of a bored deity. When asked what his one wish is, he replies, "I wanna be a cat girl!" Join Seka as she explores a new world while living life as she sees fit. (Yes this is Yuri, it's in the tag. Just to be clear though, the MC is Bi. Not sure if I'll go harem, but don't complain if she has fun with either gender. ) I do not own the cover picture, I just found it on google. If the artist wishes me to remove it, I shall. If you like it, send some support over to my p*treon. p*treon.com/Nartleb2

"Ah," Receptionist nods, "that's right. Since you've been isolated your whole life you wouldn't be aware. I suppose the basics would be a good place to start." I nod my head rapidly while resisting the urge to try and shake the answers out of her quicker.

She clears her throat. "You see, this world, Dave, is not the only world in existence. The-." I interrupt her before she can continue.

"Hold on, the world's name is Dave?" I can't help but laugh. Seriously? Why is this not covered in the general knowledge thing Lord Soahc gave me! I bet he did it on purpose hoping I would find out from some religious pricks, and when I laughed and was declared an enemy of the church, he would laugh his ass off!

Receptionist gains a confused look but nods in confirmation. "That is correct. The Davies claim that the world actually rests upon the back of a giant named Dave, and as such our world carries his name as he carries us." She shrugs. "It doesn't really concern me though. I was never really religious. Anyways," she continues, "back to the explanation."

"There are other worlds besides our own in existence. While some are similar to our own, many are quite different. Long ago, our world faced something that threatened Dave. As a result, the strongest mages in the world bandied together and created a new type of magic. Summoning magic.

They ripped open a hole between worlds, and from that portal emerged a powerful machine operated by three young humans. It is said that when they heard of our plight, they set out to stop it. They made many allies along the way, but insisted that they would not risk their lives in their battle. Instead, they encouraged them to grow stronger to protect their homes in case they failed.

When the trio of warriors finally encountered the threat, it is said that their battle shattered a continent. When they returned, the threat was defeated. But at a great cost. They had been cursed.

After they informed the kingdoms of what transpired, they guided their machine to the center of the capital city of the largest empire. And when the light from the setting sun touched them, the three and their machine turned to stone. Millenia have passed since then, and the kingdom's name lost to time. Many adventurers sign up with the guild full of dreams that they will be the ones to discover their remains. But to this day they remain unfound."

I nod my head. "That's interesting, but... What does that have to do with the form?"

Receptionist blushes then lets out a small cough. "Ahem. I apologize, it appears that I've gone off track."

"After that incident, there were several other threats that our world was unable to handle. Each time, summoning magic was used to bring heros to save us. The reason for this is that, for some reason, the magic grants each otherworlder, a "cheat skill" as they call them, that grants them extraordinary power. Due to this, around five hundred years ago each ruler met to discuss the hero summoning process. While it is unknown that occured during that meeting, it was announced that each kingdom would summon an otherworlder to protect them every twenty-five years.

However, the magic that breaches the barrier between our world and theirs weakened the border. This has resulted in otherworlders occasionally appearing at random. either in groups or alone.

Strangely enough, most of them have a desire to register with the guild as soon as possible. As such, it was decided to put the question on the form to ensure that the guild can keep on eye on them to prevent any large scale problems from occurring.

The guild also has a deal with the various kingdoms in that we inform them should any otherworlders appear. While we do not share personal information, such as skills, abilities, or their location, we do inform them that an otherworlder has appeared.

This is meant as a cautionary warning in case they use their "cheat skills" to cause harm to the kingdom. However, should they not cause any large scale problems, the kingdoms generally don't bother looking for them."

Once she finishes, I say nothing for a few moments as I contemplate what she's told me.

"So, essentially the question is on the form so that the guild can be aware of dangerously powerful individuals?"

Receptionist's eyebrow twitches at my summary of what she told me and a grimace crosses her face.

"Well, yes. I suppose that is an adequate simplification of the reason the question is there." She shrugs. "Though I suppose it doesn't really apply to you considering all otherworlders are pureblood humans. At least, there hasn't been a record of any demihuman otherworlders before."

My jaw drops open and I stare at her in shock. She misunderstands my surprise though. Well, misunderstands the why, if not the reason itself.

"Indeed, apparently in their world, humans are the only sapient species. There are no kinds of demihumans of any sort. Though they do appear in their stories."

I know that of course. Afterall, I'm and otherworlder! What surprises me though, is that there hasn't been an otherworlder who wished to change their race. Although...

'I guess I can understand if they only got one wish. Afterall, between becoming an elf, orc, beastkin, etc., or gaining the power to shoot fire with your mind? Yeah, I can see why they would choose power. Afterall, only a truly cultured individual can appreciate the appeal of casting aside their humanity when overwhelming power is on the table. Though that does make me curious, why did Lord Soahc give me that extra ability?'

'Meh, whatever. It was probably just so that I wouldn't get killed in my first encounter with an enemy. That would be too boring for them.'

I decisively check 'NO' on the box and hand the form back to Receptionist. Ah, I've already started calling her Receptionist as if it was her name. Now when I find out her name, I'm going to forget it! Poor Receptionist, I shall no longer be able to learn your name.

With that done, I head out to the guild to check out Lady's Boutique. But I'm intercepted by Tesk.

"Hello there Seka, do you mind if I ask a quick question?"

I resist the urge to give a sassy comeback since she praised my magic skills and simply nod. I still think it though.

'You just did, but since I am both wise and benevolent, I shall allow you to ask another.'

She smiles, unaware of what my inner asshole is thinking. "Great, thank you! So what's the deal with your tail? When you used magic earlier the rings on it glowed red and green."

I tilt my head and my ears twitch.

"...Nya?"

Yo! Sorry about the info-dump this chapter. On the other hand, there are other transmigrators! Though more "traditional" than our little Seka. Well so what! Seka is a person of culture! And as for her tail, well, ya'll have probably read enough novels to know where it's going.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
