CHAPTER # 02

"Sabi! Are you okay?!!!" the Duke asked, concerned when I collapsed on the bed as my soul just left my body.

'This is just too much to handle, I mean, Sabrina? Why her? God, I thought I was your favourite! How can you do this to me? This isn't fair! In my last life I couldn't live to the fullest because of the duties I was carrying on my fragile shoulders, but now that you gave me another chance why does it have to be this girl? Now I am really very close to believing that in the life before the previous one we were enemies and you lost our last battle which is why you're taking revenge on me...ISN'T IT?!! Hahhh...What the heck am I thinking? I have really lost my mind.' I thought while processing everything.

"I'm okay. Can you leave for now please...I really want to rest." I replied.

'That wasn't rude, right?' I thought and peeked through one eye and saw everybody gasping.

'Gosh I was rude...You dumb Felicia, don't you know, people in this era are extremely respectful' I internally facepalmed myself.

"I knew she hit her head very hard. She's even talking sweetly and even said please" said the Duke.

'Huh? wasn't I rude?' I thought, getting taken aback by their reactions.

"Yes, Honey. I think the fall even changed her personality. Oh God, what should we do?" the Duchess said. Both of them looked at each other and suddenly squealed in Awe.

"She is even more adorable!!!!" both said in unison.

Huhhhh?!

"Oh God, now I have to deal with more rats who will try to get close to my Sabi," the Duke said.

"Now I can brag even more than before in front of the ladies at the tea party" the duchess squealed.

'What in the world of strawberries is wrong with these two? Wait! don't tell me that maid too?' I looked towards her while she was standing there watching in awe. What the heck? When she noticed my gaze she composed her posture and nodded.

'What was that for?' I thought and then right after that, she spoke up,

"My Lord and My Lady! I think we should let the Miss rest as she has not recovered yet".

'Oh God, thank you, you're an angel!!!!' I thanked her with my eyes as she gave me a thumbs up which I also returned.

"Oh yes yes, my bad." the Duke said and came to me. He kissed my forehead and said,

"Rest well my baby." and the Duchess did the same too and then they left.

'What's this?'

This feeling, I never felt this before. When they kissed my forehead I felt a sense of warmth inside me. What is happening? Is this original Sabrina's feeling?'

And with that I asked the maid to leave as well. I laid on the bed, trying to figure out what's happening?

So I am in a novel which I recently read. I finished reading it just the day before my solo mission which is why I remember it clearly. The novel's name was 'The Innocent Rabbit Trapped By The Predators' which was a reverse harem story about a young girl who was kind, beautiful and innocent just like any other novel, Anne Romet, She was sweet, kind, innocent; in short an angel from Heaven. Her loved ones call her Ann.

She was adopted by the Duke of Romet family when she was 5 years old because Duke Romet badly wanted a girl but after the birth of the eldest son, Nox Romet, the Duchess fell ill and couldn't bear a child anymore and at that time when the Lord went downtown for work purposes and he met Anne who was being abused by her parents. He felt attached to that child so he wanted to adopt her and her real parents also didn't mind giving their child away and she also blended in well since she had red hair which was rare and also the prominent characteristic of the Romet Duchy.

She was really close to Sabrina. And on the other hand, Sabrina too considered her a very dear friend until she found out that her first love, which was one of the male interests, was in love with Anne and what made it worst was that her close friend Nox Romet, Anne's older step-brother who was also one of Anne's love interests was also in love with Anne, basically a sis-con.

After that she started to harass Anne. Ofcourse, she also didn't like it as Anne was her bestfriend but hatred took the best of her and she did everything to torture Anne. But since Anne was surrounded by the people who protected her, Sabrina couldn't do anything more and eventually died.

The novel itself had a trashy ending where Anne died at the end since there was a war and Anne wanted to be a hero and save people from getting killed so that fool jumped in a fiery pit herself and offered herself as the price of saving those people and the enemy tribe agreed like...what the heck!! Well, she was the only Saint of the Paizi Empire so I guess that makes sense but still...what the heck!!

And that's how she died and all the male leads went mad and blah blah and The End. I hated the ending. Even I could have written a better ending than that!

Anyway as for Sabrina, I felt bad for her as she also had a tragic story. Once she was a happy child except for the fact that she was too spoiled, she had a great life. Loving parent, a child who was loved by everyone, a sweet younger brother, wealth, friends, everything she desired for...but one day the Duke, the Duchess and her brother died in a tragic carriage accident, but in reality it was a planned murder by their enemy. She was only 11 years old when this incident happened, she lost everything in one night.

The Romet family were their neighbours and both families were quite close, they felt pity for her so they took her in. After taking her in, both girls got quite close and that's when she found out that her parents had arranged her engagement with the Crown Prince before their death, but the fact they weren't aware of, was that Sabrina despised the Crown Prince.

Why? Well, the Crown Prince was someone who was known to be the living example of perfection. But she hated him very much and from that I mean...very much. Also a rumour spread that he hides his eyes which is because of a curse and of course she believed it, I don't know, it's just what it is, I know it's weird but that's what I read, they never mentioned the reason.

As for her death, it was also unfortunate, she was falsely accused of poisoning Anne. Yes, falsely accused. Even Though she was a bad person, not that bad to drag someone to their death by poisoning them and that to someone who once was her loved one. But none of them believed her and she was beheaded for poisoning the only Saint of the Empire.

But Anne didn't believe it till the end and fought for Sabrina's innocence but it was too late. And after seeing Anne's struggle for saving her, Sabrina regretted everything that she did to her. She wanted to apologise but then again it was too late and she didn't resist her death anymore, she thought that maybe this was the punishment for everything bad she did and gladly accepted her death.

Soon after it was revealed that she was falsely accused as Anne researched day and night on this matter. She was finally proved innocent, and after the truth was revealed, Anne went to her grave and broke down in tears and apologised for not doing this sooner. I felt bad for her, both of her.

And now I'm her, who was dragged to a pitiful death. Hahhh…Now what? I guess now I don't have any other choice but to live on as Sabrina but! I refuse to follow the novel's path which leads to my death. All I need to do is avoid Anne and her family to escape this scary plot and make my own route.

After that I can live my life to the fullest now that I have rich parents who I guess really love their daughter which is a plus and I also read that Sabrina was quite a beauty, oh right? I haven't seen a mirror yet.

'I wonder what she looks like?'

I wondered as I walked towards the mirror in the room.

"Woah!!! Damn she's cute!!" I said while looking at the little girl's reflection in the mirror.

She had beautiful white hair with a tint of silver in it but a strand of hair on the right side of her head was of lilac colour which only enhanced her beauty more. It was the same colour as her eyes, lilac. Her eyes were also breathtaking. No doubt she was one of a kind beauty.

'By the way, how old is she right now? Seven or eight years old?' I thought and soon I heard a knock at the door.

"Come in." I said.

The maid from earlier entered, what was her name again? Fabbie? Fasie?...Oh yes, Fannie!

"You don't have to knock when you enter next time, okay? Sister Fannie?" I smiled at her.

'So...so cute!!!!!' Fannie thought.

"You don't have to be so formal, Miss. You should call me Fannie only. I'm only four years older than you" she said while smiling.

"You're older than me so is it okay to call you by your name?" I said and she was shocked by my comment.

"You sure have changed a lot and yes, you can call me by my name, that's how it works" she said, still in shock. I just laughed awkwardly.

'Of course she wouldn't be the same. There is a whole ass new readymade soul in this body'

"Okay, Fannie! Um...Fannie?" I said.

"Yes, miss?" she said.

"Um...I wanted to ask how old am I?" I asked.

"Oh, you just turned seven last week." she replied.

'Bingo! Guessed it right'

"Oh right, I came here to inform you that you have visitors." She exclaimed.

"Visitors?" I asked.

"Yes. They are your very close friends." she said.

'Who could that be?'

I got curious and suddenly I saw a small head pop up from the door and after a while another head popped up. I squinted my eyes to see who they were and then they walked in. It was a little girl and boy around my age.

'Wait a sec! Red hair, Golden eyes...DON'T TELL ME!!!!' I panicked after seeing the two little figures in front of me.

"H-hi Sabrina. Do you remember me? It's me...Anne" she said.

'O My God, Nooo!!! The person I want to see the least right now is standing in front of me. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW!!!!!??'.
