In trouble

Olivia's POV

"You did not match ".those words keeps ringing in my head as I walk back to aunt's room.

I felt tears threatening to fall down from my eyes,, but I held then back, I can't let aunt see me this weak.

I took in a deep breath before entering aunt's room.

I walk and sat beside her 

"How did it go ".she asked when she noticed my presence 

I hissed softly but did not say a word.

"It didn't match right ".she asked 

I nod my head but did not say a word, 

She hissed softly and shakes her 

"Don't worry aunt, we will find a way “.

"There is no way oli, my savings aren't enough".she murmured

I hissed softly and thought for a while

"What about your boss, you guys are pretty close ". I asked, 

"He travelled out of the country and I don't want to be a burden to him".

I hissed in frustration and thought for a while.

"What about you receive treatment and pay with your salary". I asked, 

She shakes her head and stared at me 

"I'm receiving treatment for free, but the donor is a stranger and we need to pay  the money ".she murmured in pain.

I hissed in frustration and ran my hand through my hair.

"What do we do ". I murmured

"Nothing ".she whispered

"We can't do anything oli".she whispered.

Just then a doctor walk in 

"How are you nurse penny ".he asked 

"Fine, how long do I have left ".she demanded

"Just rest and stop thinking about it ".

"Don't tell me to calm down, I just need to know how long I have left ". She demanded

He hissed softly and stared at her 

"A Month, you have until a month left to do the transplant". He spoke firmly

"Thank you ".she whispered and closed her eyes.

"I will be back ".he left the room, 

"I'm hungry, get me something to eat ".she demanded with her eyes closed.

I stared at her and could see how much she must be suffering, and here I am doing nothing.

"I'll be back ". I said those words and left the room.

I left the room, and I was filled with thoughts.

I can't just sit and do nothing, aunt was dying and here I am sitting down and watching her die.

Just then I bumped into someone

"Watch your step ".

"Sorry ". I murmured and step away.

"Olivia?".

I raise my face and met with a familiar face,, but I couldn't recall where I must have seen it.

"Sorry, do I know?". I asked, 

"Yes, I met you at Rona's place ".

I thought for a while and remembered he was the guy I bumped into at Rona's place.

"Hi, hello ". I murmured 

"Hi, what are you doing here and why are you lost in thought". He asked with the same concerned tune he used on me when he met me at Rona's place.

"I'm fine, I need to go ". I muttered out those and quickly walk away.

“Wait ".he shouted 

But I ignored him and walk away.

I check my pocket and realized I have some money on me.

I walk a little and got to a restaurant.

I brought some food and made my way back to the hospital .

I got to the hospital and was about walking to aunt's room when I heard my name. I turn around and met eyes with the guy I bumped earlier on.

I hissed softly and wanted to walk away,, but he held me back.

"What's your problem". I asked in annoyance 

"I just want to help, you don't look okay ".he spoke up 

I hissed softly before speaking up.

"I'm fine, I don't need your help, wait did Rona send you here ". I asked in anger, 

"Rona?, of course not ". He quickly replied 

"Then why are you following me around ". I spoke in annoyance

"I'm just worried about you ". He expressed those words sincerely

"Well thank you, but I don't need your help ". I spoke in annoyance and was about walking away when he held me back, 

"What the fuck is your problem". I asked in anger.

"Nothing, I just want to know what is wrong with you ".he pleaded

I chuckled softly and stared at him in shock, 

"Why are you this bothered about me ?". I asked while giving him a suspicious look.

He hissed softly before speaking up 

"I'm just bothered about you ".he spoke up 

"Well, don't be ". I murmured in anger and walked away.

I got to aunt's room and saw her in a discussion with a nurse .they noticed my presence and stop whatever they were discussing.

"I brought your food ".

"Thank you ".she whispered and sat on the bed, 

I brought out the food and place it on the table beside her.

"I will come back later ".the nurse smiled at me and left the room.

"What were you guys talking about ". I asked while staring at aunt with curiosity.

"Nothing". She murmured and took a spoon of the food.

"Nothing?". I asked in disbelief

She hissed but did not say a word.

I watch her eat slowly while avoiding my gaze.

"You should go home ".she murmured

"Go home and do what when you are here ". I asked 

"You should go home and rest, so you can go to work ".she murmured 

I hissed in frustration and ran my fingers through my hair.

"You should go ".she murmured 

I check the time and realized I have just one hour left.

"I'll come see you after work ".

"No need, my colleagues are here they can take care of me, you can just come and see me after school "

"But aunt ". I tried speaking up, but she shut me up, 

"Don't worry oli, I will be fine". She assured me, 

I stared at her before standing up from the chair 

"Call me if you need anything". I pleaded

"I will ".she murmured and closed her eyes to sleep.

I hissed softly and left the room.

I hissed in frustration and made my way out of the hospital.

I took a taxi and got home.

I changed my clothes and walk to the coffee shop. 

"Hey oli" my colleague greeted 

"Hi". I replied and went to the locker room to change my cloths.

I changed my clothes and started working

"You don't look good ". 

"I'm fine". I murmured and went back to work.

After hours, I was done with work and went back home.

I got home, took a quick bath but couldn't sleep, my thought was on aunt.

The next morning I called aunt and check up on her.

I walked to school and saw Lizzy already seated in the hall.

"Oli".she waves her hand at me, 

I smiled and made my way to her seat.

"Are you okay ".she asked, 

"Aunt needs a kidney transplant". I murmured

"This is bad "

I hissed softly and lean on the chair.

"What will you do ".she asked 

"I don't know Lizzy, am confused myself". I murmured.

She hissed softly and stared at me with pity.

I closed my eyes and try to ease my pain, even I heard a loud bam on the table.

I open my eyes and met a furious looking Rita staring at me.

"What is the meaning of this ". I asked in anger, 

"You think you can hit me and I will let it go just like that ". She spoke in anger.

I hissed in anger and look away.

"What is your problem ". I asked in anger.

I was going through a lot, and Rita was the least of my problem.

"You are my problem ".she shouted in anger and took hold of my hair.

"Stop this ". Lizzy yelled, but Rita kept on pulling my hair.

I felt angry and with all the strength in me, I stood up from the chair and push her on the floor while she was still pulling my hair.

I sat on her and remove her grip on my hair before I started throwing punches on her.

I could hear screams of people asking me to stop,, but I would.

All the anger and pain I have been hiding inside me exploded, and I couldn't control it.

"You called me a whore right ?". I asked in anger, 

"Let me show you how a whore behaves". I dragged her hair forcefully, still she cried out in pain.

Someone dragged me and pull me away from her.

"You will kill her ". I turn around and noticed it was a department mate of mine.

I hissed in anger and stared back at Rita.

Her face was covered with bruises, and she was hissing in pain.

"You will pay for this".she yelled in anger.

I hissed softly and took back my seat.

"Girlfriend, that was too much ". Lizzy murmured 

"I know ". I whispered

Rita stood up from the floor with the help of her friends before limping with a leg and left the hall.

"You are in trouble".a student whispered to me, 

"I don't care ". I muttered out those words in anger.

“Olivia”. I turn around and saw a lecturer standing by the door.

"You are being called ".he said those words while staring at me with pity,, and then I knew I was in trouble.
