Trailing

Finding themselves immobilized, The Purrloin was startled, attempting to struggle but realizing it was futile.

Suddenly, from The Purrloin's shadow, a Gengar emerged. Yuga's Gengar had silently moved from Yuga's shadow to The Purrloin's.

Gengar smirked and made a scary face at The Purrloin, which startled the thief. However, due to the Mean look from Gengar, The Purrloin shivered helplessly.

In that moment, a Dark Pulse unexpectedly shot out from somewhere, hitting Gengar squarely. Caught off guard, Gengar's Mean look was disrupted.

Realizing it could move again, The Purrloin screamed and darted away at high speed.

Yuga observed from a distance, spotting a sleek and elegant Liepard standing on another rooftop. Its eyes were cold as it watched Gengar and Chatot, showing a hint of warmth only when it looked at The Purrloin.

It had a companion!

Yuga saw The Purrloin quickly jump over to the Liepard, nuzzling it with its head, and they both leaped off the roof together.

Gengar intended to keep both the Liepard and The Purrloin, but Yuga intervened.

"Let's follow them," Yuga suggested. He thought that observing where they were going might provide valuable information about their hideout.

So, quietly, Yuga followed behind the Liepard and The Purrloin, with Chatot and Gengar. Gengar had excellent stealth abilities, and neither the Liepard nor The Purrloin detected Yuga trailing them.

After escaping from Gengar, instead of returning to their nest immediately, the two Pokémon wandered around the residential area of Castelia City.

The Purrloin would occasionally steal items from the passing residents, showcasing its well-practiced Thief skills. It was clear that this behavior was a regular occurrence for it.

Besides stealing from humans, The Purrloin used its cute appearance to feign vulnerability and beguile food and toys from other Pokémon kept by humans, and it was surprisingly successful at it. Yuga was genuinely impressed.

On the other hand, the Liepard remained aloof throughout, following The Purrloin closely without participating in the thefts.

This Liepard was a male Pokémon and likely The Purrloin's father. However, it had ordinary yellow potential, and lower level than The Purrloin by two levels. The fact that it had such a talented child was quite lucky for it.

The Purrloin and Liepard appeared to be common stray Pokémon found in cities. Nevertheless, their skills and cunning made them thrive even in the urban environment.

While The Purrloin had excellent potential, othrr people don't have Yuga's Insight ability, allowing The Purrloin to live comfortably with its family in the corners of the city.

However, the lives of stray Pokémon in cities were usually harsher than those in the wild. Many of them had once been owned by humans and, when released, struggled to adapt to the wild or continued to live in the city but faced bullying and hardship.

So, if someone were willing to offer shelter and care to these stray Pokémon, they would usually be thrilled to leave and start anew.

Unfortunately, very few people were willing to do so.

Firstly, these Pokémon were originally abandoned by others, and their potentials were likely not perfect, with at least 99% falling into the lower range.

Secondly, in order to survive and compete for food, these Pokémon often ended up getting dirty and unkempt. When others saw them, they would only feel repulsed and wouldn't consider adopting them.

However, The Purrloin and Liepard didn't share the typical appearance of dirty stray Pokémon. They didn't look emaciated either, indicating that they might have been the ones who bullied others.

The Liepard accompanied The Purrloin through the residential area for nearly two hours, carrying a substantial amount of loot, and it seemed like they were heading home.

After following these two Pokémon for almost two hours, Yuga was beginning to regret this decision; he could have just captured them directly.

Following The Purrloin and Liepard, they eventually arrived at the outskirts of Castelia City, where an abandoned factory came into view.

Castelia City's rapid development had been heavily reliant on industry, so there were many abandoned factories on the outskirts of the city. While the city government had been working on resolving these historical issues, it was not a problem that could be solved overnight.

As they ventured deeper into the abandoned factory, Yuga saw other Pokémon living here, including Venipede, Darumaka, Dwebble, and Trubbish, among others.

Yuga noticed that The Purrloin would occasionally share its loot with other Pokémon they encountered along the way. While the Liepard didn't participate, it didn't stop The Purrloin from doing so. It was clear that they had good relations with their neighbors here.

Upon reaching the innermost part of the abandoned factory, Yuga saw another Liepard, accompanied by a smaller Purrloin, approaching from a distance. The two Liepards came together and affectionately nuzzled each other. It was easy to tell that they were a married couple.

The smaller Purrloin happily frolicked around the larger Purrloin, and the larger one gently patted the smaller one's head, sharing its food with it.

Yuga watched this heartwarming family scene with surprise because what he saw with his eyes differed from the data displayed in his discerning vision.

It turned out that the later Purrloin and Liepard were disguises of Zoroark and Zorua, but this particular Zorua appeared to have been born recently, with a very low level.

Yuga now understood where The Purrloin's talents came from; they likely inherited them from their mother, Zoroark. Unfortunately, their little sister, Zorua, did not inherit their mother's exceptional potential. Her abilities were quite ordinary, probably inherited from their father, Liepard.

Zoroark and Zorua probably assumed the forms of Liepard and Purrloin to conceal their identities. Zoroark and Zorua were incredibly valuable, while Liepard and Purrloin were just two common Pokémon.
