Inside a quiet and dim room, Mo Yu looked down at the palm of his hand, a soft glow reflected in his pitch-black pupils.

He watched as a bright, white light moved restlessly around on his hand.

This white light was the discharge of life force from the human body, which was called internal energy.

(TL/N: So like, I know this is a HxH fanfic, but at the beginning, the author uses a symbol that translates to "qi", "spiritual energy", or "internal energy" before switching to a term that is "nen" later on, but then he switches back a bunch of times too, so we'll just put the direct translations before we find out in more detail.)

　　It was difficult for ordinary people to sense the existence of internal energy, so they could only let it drain naturally.
