Chapter 27 - The Sound

SNAP

The sound of a branch breaking broke the originally peaceful silence in the forest.

The dark green bushes shook before a deformed human face popped out. Or at least it could be considered human if you ignored the bone-shaped horns that were located on its forehead and not to mention its skin was ghostly pale.

It looked at the strange creature on the ground, with greed overflowing from its eyes. It couldn't remember the last time it had eaten and as though the heavens were blessing the creature, it just happened to drop a 'delicious meal' right into its territory. Though this delicious meal didn't seem to have that much meat on its body, it carried a mouthwatering smell, unlike anything the creature had come into contact with before.

Just as the creature was about to completely come out of the bushes, a loud sound rang out.

BURRRRRRR

A loud horn rang out in the forest, waking up the majority of creatures, as howls and growls could be heard everywhere.

The creature in the bushes jolted in shock as the horn rang, excitement and anticipation evident in its weird beady eyes. It couldn't comprehend how 5 years had already passed.

With one last look filled with regret at the 'delicious meal' on the ground, it turned around and dashed off into the forest.

…..

Just as the creature left, it's 'delicious meal' suddenly opened her eyes.

A pitch black eerie light flash in her eyes before they reverted back to violet.

Ever since that horn rang out, she had been woken up and already noticed her body's condition. She was a bit baffled as to how she had healed so quickly but decided to figure that out later. Just as she was about to check what the noise was, she had spread out her spiritual consciousness and sensed that creature next to her.

The creature actually made her afraid, as she had never felt anything that strong before. So, as one does when the opponent was too strong to face, she played dead and was going to wait for an opportunity to run away.

She heaved a sigh of relief after sensing that the creature had left.

Though it really was a wake up call for her. This world was crawling with beings stronger than her in every way possible.....it was safer to stay at home.

But....could someone tell her where the hell she was!!!

She kept on jumping from place to place that she was totally lost right now. Also as far as she remembered, the sun was still out before this all happened.

Based on this, one thing she could conclude, it was night time, which means that many hours have passed since she first came to Spirit Beast forest of Astro.

'Yup....screw this damn Genesis thing or whatever its called.....'

Jumping up from the ground with a huff, all while keeping silent, she froze. As she was to late to react, she could only watch on in embarrassment as the 'rags' on her body fell to the floor, leaving her naked. Except for the cloak on her.

It was a good thing she couldn't sense anyone around for miles or else she would be caught in a very compromising situation.

Clutching the cloak around her, she grabbed whatever clothing she could find in her space ring.

.....

Ten minutes later, a Scarlett was dressed in a black dress that went above her knees, still with the cloak wrapped around her, moving through the darkness.

Periodically, that weird horn would ring every few minutes, so she was currently heading in that direction. She had a feeling that maybe she could figure out what going on or maybe how to get out of the forest there.

Phi did say that with the Genesis coming or whatever, people from all over would be there. Maybe she could find someone and ask a couple questions.

She still couldn't contact Phi, which was strange, but she just thought it was a side effect of the teleportation stone. Everything would be fine once she left.

Poor little Scarlett still didn't know that she was not in Astro anymore. More importantly, she wouldn't be able to head home until a VERY long time.

Maybe if she knew that, she would really regret coming here, more than she already did.
