Chapter 31: She Loves Him

"Are you okay?." Ace glanced at her and then back to the road.

"I just never thought I'd see him there." She look out the car window.

He dropped her home and drove off. She had no appetite so she just fell on the bed.

************

The next morning she woke up to having a migraine. Ace came to visit as always. He sat beside her patting her head.

"Seems you've been doing a while lot of thinking." He massaged her head.

"I don't think so. Besides it happens to everyone." She was caught by his charming eyes. Now she saw how handsome he was. He had a medium hair that he tied to his back. He was a bit tall but not muscular. He was always a cheerful person and would often try to make her laugh.

But now she could only see him as a close friend and nothing more. She was uncertain about everything. The relationship he was trying to create and the feelings.

It's just two weeks, she'd see if things would work out or it wouldn't.

"We could go to the movies if you'd like." He smiled. She knew he was trying really hard to push things. He was trying possible ways to force the feelings that was why he suggested they went to the Movies.

The thought of this made her miss Arnold and also think of the moments she spent with him.

She felt pity for Ace cause he was trying his best to make things work but it wasn't working out for her. She didn't feel happy, she felt something was missing in her life.

"It's okay by me." She said.

Later that evening she got dressed and they went for to the Movies. All Jenna did the entire time was to look from left to right as I'd she expected someone to be there.

Yes, she expected Arnold to be here but he wasn't.

"You don't look really happy." He asked looking at her.

"I don't seem to see Arnold anywhere." She mumbled.

"And why would you care about him when you're with me?." He creased his brow.

"It's not like that Ace I was just.." she was cut off

"You were just nothing. Let's just go home." He said and walked out leaving the movie halfway.

Jenna didn't know why he reacted the way he did. Was it because she mentioned Arnold's name?.

Weeks passed and they kept hanging out and doing fun things together. They had a baking night party at their house so Ace came to assist.

Jenna was in the kitchen arranging the ingredients for the cake when Ace walked in and held her waist from behind.

"Hey Girlfriend." He kissed her neck and Grandma could only smile at them. Finally they were back together after years of him being away.

"Ace?." She washed here hands.

"What are you doing?." She asked looking around if she'd find anyone watching.

"I'm holding My Girlfriend." He said as she tried pushing him away and freeing herself.

"Someone would see us Ace." She freed herself from his arm and left to get a stool while Ace watched her every move.

"What are you doing?." He saw her climbing on it.

"To get the flour of course. It's way up there and I can't reach it." She said raising up her heels to reach the cupboard.

"You might fall off from there Jen." He stared at the shaking stool.

"I've got this Ace." She stretched her arms to reach it.

"Be careful." He went closer as he looked up at the cupboard

"Yes I got it." She held the bag of flour just then the stool shook and slipped then the flour poured down from their head to their clothes

"Jenna!." He caught her mid-air and stared at her closed eyes.

OMG! Her heart started racing as she slowly opened her eyes and Ace kept her down to her feet.

"(Coughs) Are you okay?." He gently put her down. She nodded with her face covered with flour.

"I'm fine. Thank You." (Chuckles.) she laughed.

"And what's so funny?." He asked.

"Your face." She covered her mouth with her hand.

"Oh I see, we'll yours is as well. Have you taken a look at yourself? Here come look." He took her to the bathroom.

"See?." He smiled then he went to get the tissue box.

"Now I see what's so funny." She laughed.

"Jenna?." He called and she turned to look at him holding a tissue paper in his hand.

"Let me.." he brought it close to her face when she took a step away.

"No,I can just do it myself." She forced a smile.

"No please, allow me." He walked close to her and started cleaning the flour off her face. He did it gently as he took time to explore her face.

Then he went down to her lips slowly wiping the flour off. He stopped and stared down at it and he leaned in when she placed her hands on his chest stopping him.

"What are you doing?." She managed to say. Her heart was pounding so loud that she thought Ace could hear.

He held her waist and drew her more closed to his chest. Their face were so close that their nose almost touched. He lifted her chin with his finger then he pressed his lips on hers.

"You should kiss me back Jenna." His eyes were still closed then he leaned in again and kissed her but she didn't kiss him back. He pulled away and opened his eyes.

"What's wrong?." He asked.

"I..I just need to go do some work." She walked out of the bathroom leaving Ace staring at his appearance in the mirror.

"Arrrrgh!!." He humphed angrily. Then he calmed himself down and left the bathroom.

Weeks had passed still she wasn't being able to get Arnold off her mind. There had to be a way. Why did she missed him so much?.

She baked the cake and left it at the table then made up an excuse that she felt weak so she left to her room and locked the door. Ace knew something was up but he didn't want to bother her. So he let her be.

"Does it mean she hasn't fallen in love with me yet?. It's been a week now and there's no sign of any feelings whatsoever." He say thinking as his friends and Grandma ate.

No she couldn't take this anymore. She sat on the floor holding her knee to her chest. Her heart was burning like she was in so much pain. This was when she realized she loved Arnold. She fought so hard to be negative about it but it was so true.

She tried hiding it but no she just couldn't. Spending much time here with Ace made her miss Arnold more.

She Remembered the day she met him at the Fair, he didn't look quite happy. Though his face was emotionless but still she saw jealousy in his eyes.

He didn't love her and that was what hurt more. She couldn't understand why she'd love a person that doesn't feel the same way she does yet he enjoys kissing her.
