Chapter Six

Athena POV

I waited just outside Hyde's office. The silence is overwhelming, knowing that I could be in major trouble. I couldn't hear anything from inside though, which was weird because I thought vampires could from miles away. Suddenly the door opened and Matthew comes out, causing me to to stand to my feet. "The headmaster will see you now" He tells me, holding the door open for me. I stepped around him, making my way inside the office. Matthew then shut the door behind me as I looked over towards the large window I saw standing there, looking out side into the daylight. His back turned to me he didn't look at me. I made my way through the room, passing the desk and walking over to the large window and standing next to him. He's wearing a black shirt with ripped black jeans. His hair is perfectly shaped unlike last time we had met. He almost looks normal, like he once had been human. The room crept with silence, so much silence that I felt like it was going to eat me a live. "Did you know I was born in 1816?" He asked me. I arched a brow high before clearing my throat "Uh...No I didn't." "Yeah, times were so much simpler, quiet" He says, his voice is soft and gentle. He places his hands behind his back, folding them into each other. Yet, his eyes didn't leave the sun. I took a second to look at him before staring outside. "How much trouble am I in?" I asked him. He let out a soft chuckle, almost as if it was genuine. It caused me to knit my brows together "Why is that funny?" I questioned. "It's your first day Miss Black" He reminded me. "Everyone here has had worse first days, besides being a fledgling on top of that...I understand how you're feeling" He explained to me. "Great, then you seem to be the only one. Because I don't even know how I feel" I scoffed, lowering my head and staring at my shoes. "That will pass, As we as the uncontrollable feeling of thirst and the moodiness and anger" He informed me. I let out a sigh "How long will that take?" I asked him. "It depends on the Vampire" He says. "How long did it take you?" I then asked him. "Centuries..." He answered. "Great..." I sigh. He then turned to me, placing his hand on the top of my shoulder. In that moment a spark went through my entire body, causing me to slightly jump. "What has happened to you, It's unforgivable and I'm sorry it happened to you but you must make the best out of your time here" He tells me. I bite the inside of my cheek "Being here...Does that mean I can never see my adoptive family again?" I asked him, already knowing the answer that lies in the air. A look of sadness takes his expression which only confirmed my suspicions. "Yeah, I thought so..." I sigh. "It's just not safe, You don't want to put their lives at risk" He says to me. "Well...I would at least wanted to say goodbye to them. Fuck..." I feel tears form at my water line. I felt the sting of pain in my heart. "We are your family now Miss Black, at least while you're here at the school. Then, you'll have an entire coven who will be your family" He explained. "Am I good to go then?" I asked, not wanting to continue the conversation. A look of worry crossed his face before quickly leaving. "Yeah, you're dismissed" He nodded. "Great, thank you" I nodded back before heading out of the office. The moment I stepped out Matthew was standing at the end of the hallway, talking to a group of male students. He caught sight of me, quickly leaving the conversation and making his way over to me. "Am I gonna have to follow you around from now on, make sure you're not gonna kill anyone?" He questioned. I let out a scoff "Leave me alone Matthew." "I'm just trying to make sure you keep yourself in check Athena" He informed me. "Really? I asked him. "Because to me, it seems like you're just trying to piss me off" I pointed out. He rolled his eyes "Why would I want to do that?" He questioned. "I don't know, maybe from the fact you don't like me" I tell him. "No, I don't like you" He shook his head. "I don't like anyone" He tells me. "Just....stay away from me" I tell him. "Gladly, until you try to kill someone again" he scoffed before walking away. "Dick..." I shook my head before walking towards my first class.

"Oh! Athena over here!" Bliss called out, pointing to the empty chair next to her. I hurried across the room and sat own next to her. "So, you better now?" She asked me. "Much better" I nodded. "Oh, Hey look...It's Athena" A girl walked up to us with two other girls on either side of her. "Hello..." I cleared my throat. "So, is it true you were turned mistakenly?" She asked me. I knit my brows together "Oh come on, you know those are just rumors" Bliss scoffed. "Really? Because I heard she was turned against her will?" The girl says, causing everyone to stop what they were doing. "Bethany! You know it's against the law to turn the unwilling, To even speak of it is forbidden" Bliss whispered. "Just because my maker isn't apart the council doesn't mean I don't know the laws" Bethany whispered back in a sarcastic tone. "Whatever, I'm bored" She flipped her hair before walking away with her friends and sitting down next to a boy in the classroom. "That's Bethany Jade, her creator was killed in a fire....some say she started the fire but it was never proven, so she got off" Bliss informed me. I knit my brows together "Who turned her?" I asked Bliss. "Damon Kilden, He was a lower ranking Vampire in the Tribebual coven who fell in love with Bethany and she willing was turned" Bliss explained. "Huh, then what makes you think she killed him?" I asked her. "I heard my creator talking about how she was seeing this...other Vampire and Damon caught them...But again that Vampire disappeared and was never found. So again, no proof" Bliss sighed. "It's horrible how people like her get away with everything" Bliss shakes her head. "Good morning class our teacher spoke, walking into the classroom and making her way to the front. "Let's start with the first chapter of Vampire's in history shall we?" She stated. "Athena, you must share a book with Bliss for now" The teacher tells me before going on. "Alright So, can anyone tell me from the last chapter when was the first Vampire created and how?" She asked the class. Bethany quickly raised her hand. "Bethany, yes?" The teacher asked her. "The 18th century" She answered. "But when?" She asked. Something around me felt different, weird and a tingle strikes my throat. "January 1, 1579" Bliss says. "Thank you Bliss, But next time raise your hand?" She asked Bliss. "Sorry" She giggles before looking down at her book. "Yes, Jure Grando Alilović or Giure Grando was the first ever vampire who was created by the magic of a witch. His lover Jenuv found out about his cheating and put a horrible curse on the both of them, turning them into vampire so they could spend an eternity with one another" She explained. "But, this curse came at some cost. The uncontrollable hunger for humans blood, the daylight burning thir flesh from their skin" She went on. Her lover could not take it any longer, he walked out into the sunlight killing himself. Juve went on to creator another lover, turning him into a vampire we've come to know as Lucien" She informed us. A shiver left my entire body, hearing the name caused a feeling of darkness to hover in the classroom. "Okay, for your homework tonight...I want you to pick a year, any year you would want to be a Vampire in and alright?" She asked us all.
