__________ POV Ashton__________
Well, a week passed by quickly. Only one more to go before we reach my homeland...
The princes haven't yet decided what to do with the Seed Urn. But if this keeps up then I'll have to get rid of it myself.
From the memories of the Captain, the time limit isn't really all that short. Usually a month, that condition was made specifically to have a king on the throne in emergencies.
But now it's making the princes panic greatly. The queens that are part of the alliance both seem to agree to destroy the treasure.
On another note, both Zhang Lei and Tubeppa decided to join the alliance. This means that now every prince is working together to find a way out of the Succession War.
You can guess how pleased Momoze was to see this. I did have to explain to her that her brother Tserriednich was too dangerous to our cause to be kept alive.
She didn't really appreciate that. This is why I am currently back to sleeping in my own room. For some reason, she refused to believe that her brother was a bad person.
She even went as far as to call me a murderer. She didn't even bother speaking to Zhang Lei or Tubeppa to ask them about the incident. She just blames me instantly.
Momoze didn't really hate me for killing Benjamin, who is also her brother. But that might be because she was present when he tried to kill us all.
I guess Tserriednich was good at acting? He likely didn't show much of his murderous desires to his siblings. Well, besides the ones he was actively trying to kill.
Well, whatever. I wanted her to have more autonomy anyway. And, I guess she has it now. Especially since she doesn't like me enough for her decisions to be influenced by me.
I guess this is kind of what I wanted. Her not believing me is a sign that she no longer relies on me.
Maybe she is stressed, maybe her trust in me is built on a shaky foundation. I guess it's a bit harder to befriend people than to kill them.
Kurapika has also been avoiding me. Which is always nice to see. I certainly didn't go through the trouble of killing my student for you to get some closure... By all means, avoid me more.
I mean, I can sugarcoat it all I want, but Chrollo plotting against me isn't something I find offensive. I wouldn't have killed him and his friends just for that.
I now wonder if what I did was a good thing. Chrollo certainly wasn't a great person, but I am not really one to judge.
Some people might ask: 'On what grounds am I allowed to judge whether or not my student was a good person or scum?' Well, it takes one to know one.
So I guess I shouldn't have bothered so much to make new friends. It's clear enough that my efforts were in vain.
Now, I guess it's time to end the Succession War. I still have the shitty clay pot. I can destroy it right now.
But I will do it in front of them all, regardless of what they choose to do with it. They don't have any way to find a loophole, the rules are too specific for that.
Loopholes only exist when the conditions are vague. And I doubt the First King wanted his descendants to get away from the succession war.
I should go and call another meeting. Well, I'll just go to Camilla directly since the meeting happens there anyway.
I reached her room and just entered. I don't really care about being polite to her. Not now anyway.
Camilla looked a bit surprised to see me, but she quickly suppressed that emotion.
"Good day Ashton! It's great to see you!" She said with a smile. Some would call it beautiful, but it's quite obviously fake.
She seems to have my problem with not being able to put many emotions in her eyes. I mean, I do that to unnerve people, so it's more of an act than anything.
"Hello, Camilla. Would you be a sweetheart and call a meeting for me?" I said with a fake smile of my own.
"Of course! I am quite surprised, you have come to me for this though..." A hand covered her mouth while she spoke.
"Doesn't matter all that much. We just need to decide what to do with the Seed Urn." I said while sitting down on one of her couches. I placed the Seed Urn on the coffee table in front of me.
"Well... There have been quite a few meetings since the last one you attended... Most of us have come to an agreement already." Well, that's a nice detail. I wasn't even invited to the meetings.
Even though I basically created this Alliance in the first place. Oh well, it doesn't matter much. At least this meeting won't take long. Well, it might not even need to happen.
"And what might that agreement be?" It's easier to just ask.
"Well, it's our only choice of course. Destroying the Seed U-" Before she even finished. I raised my leg and brought my heel down on the Seed Urn.
The clay pot didn't break instantly, but I put quite a bit of Nen into my leg.
The coffee table underneath it broke instantly, the pot reaching the marble floor shattering and cracking it in a matter of seconds.
And then the Seed Urn itself cracked and shattered in countless pieces.
Camilla just stared with wide eyes as I just walked out of the room.
"Have a nice day! Changing the succession laws shouldn't really be something you need my help with!" I waved backwards as I left the room and closed the door.
After that, I just went back to my room. I don't really feel like sticking around for longer. We've almost reached the waters of the Dark Continent anyway.
I want to see just how this ship's defences fare against the sea monsters around these parts...
