__________ POV Narration__________
The ships of the Hunter Association were able to pass through the waters of the Dark Continent unimpeded.
They were mere hours away from being in sight of the New Continent. In retrospect, they should've reached the New Continent already, but their navigational path kept getting cut off by storms and whirlpools.
The sea was somewhat harder to predict the closer they got to the Dark Continent, and it somewhat slowed down their journey. Still, it was mostly smooth sailing.
That could only happen due to a few factors, they had a relatively small group, and they had plenty of powerful Nen users to drive the Sea Beasts away from their ships.
But the same couldn't be said about the Zoldycks. The only powerful Nen users on their ships were... Well, the Zoldycks.
And they had to split themselves in between a few ships.
They had some other notably strong characters with them, but the Zoldycks were still the backbone of the expedition.
They ended up being stretched quite thin, and they were constantly under attack.
The setup was quite simple. Maha, Silva both handled the two largest ships. The rest of the family either worked in groups or alone.
Kikyo and Kalluto both took care of a cruise ship, Illumi alongside a few servants took care of another. Milluki and Killua took care of another. And the last one was left in Zeno's hands.
Zeno played a much larger role, however, since he could fly, he was tasked with driving beasts away from all of the ships at once.
He was not alone in doing so, as he was joined by some other members of the family from time to time.
For around 4 weeks, that strategy worked perfectly. And they were only around two weeks away from their destination.
That was when things turned sour. The sea rumbled and broke into a violent storm, it forced Zeno to retreat to his ship.
And so, the assault of the Sea Beasts started under the cover of the dark stormy sea. The first to attack was a monster with tentacles spanning the length of their entire fleet.
It looked like it could easily crush their ships if it so much as brought down one of its limbs on them.
But, it was driven away, as Zeno acted quickly and braved the storm to hit the beast with a Dragon Dive.
Countless yellow lights rained down upon the tentacles of the beast. With each hit, it seemed to recoil in fear.
The damage done to the thing was negligible at best, some bloody gashes and a few pierce wounds on its limbs. The size of the beast made the injuries look unimportant.
But they still did their job in scaring it away. The expedition didn't even get to see the body of the beast before it was driven away.
But the large beast wasn't the only thing that stood in their way, countless small sea monsters had already started to bite into the ships.
Maha had managed to completely cover the ship he was protecting in En, preventing the attacks on his side. Zeno also did the same as soon as he landed back on his ship, but things weren't as easy for Silva and the others.
Zeno and Maha both had an abnormally large En, but the rest of the family members couldn't really say the same.
Killua used his speed to its fullest to run circles around the ship and keep it protected. He even had to electrocute some of the beasts that had jumped and tried to drag people down into the sea.
They all looked like sharks, in different colours and with different teeth sizes. Milluki was quite scared and didn't really do much to help.
It was a bizarre experience to fight them. Silva was also in a similar situation to Killua, he had just taken a more violent approached, throwing explosive orbs in the water and blowing up a lot of the monsters, scaring them away from his ship.
Kikyo and Kalluto were also doing their best to keep the beasts off. But there were still casualties. And some of the ships did receive damage and were lightly flooded.
They all had to stop and start on repairs before the entire thing sunk. Even repairing the thing had cost them the lives of a few workers. But the journey continued.
Attacks like that became more common, the Zoldycks also grew accustomed to them, to the point where they were always ready to act and efficient in their ways of driving the beasts away.
But, not all was fine and dandy. The beasts kept attacking at random intervals, leading to a lack of rest for the Nen Users protecting the ships, resources were also running low.
Unfortunately for them, they were still a week away from the New Continent. They had to circle around many storms and stop to repair their ships many times.
Now, they were left with only one choice. Contacting the residents of the New Continent and asking for support. They didn't have any carrier birds with them, and the birds would also not be able to fly for long without rest.
So, they sent the written request for help with one of the pets that their family owned. The white dragon was fast enough to reach the New Continent faster than them too.
It was actually fast enough to reach it within two days. And so, it was sent to fly towards the continent, carrying a message written by Silva towards Ashton.
And so, things have reached the present time. With the message being close to arriving at Ashton, and the Hunter Association Expedition just gaining sight of the New Continent.
Ashton was simply looking at a special mechanism that he had created. He was preparing to take a break and go for a walk around the woods.
He walked calmly, all until he heard the flapping of wings above him. Looking up, he could see a larger bird descending towards him, a small note attached to one of it's claws.
It was obviously one of Cluck's messengers. The note was simply written, but it was clearly meant to give the reader a sense of urgency.
'Please come to the first city, urgently~Cheadle' And so, Ashton started blasting his way in that direction.
