__________ POV Narration__________
The people in the room all breathed a sigh of relief, although Ashton didn't really look all that pleased.
"Well... Quite a lot has happened. Glad to see you here though." Halkenburg was the first to speak up. Momoze was still quite shocked by his entrance.
"Did you really have to kick the door in? You do realise there are injured people here, right?" She asked while the old scientist rubbed the back of his head.
"Umm... I didn't know there were injured people in the room..." Ashton said with a bit of a strange smile.
"Don't lie to me. You were able to smell a fight happening a few hundred meters away from us(referring to the assassination attempt) but you became unable to do that now?" She said, still somewhat mad at the way he had startled everyone inside.
"Well... I could've maybe been a bit more thoughtful about my entry... The ship is sinking by the way..." He said while looking around the room, adamantly avoiding Momoze's judging gaze.
"WHAT?! You're sinking the ship?!" Momoze asked in shock. Halkenburg then finally received an explanation for the way the ship was tilting.
"Well... I've technically already sunk it. It's just a matter of time before it becomes a submarine..." He said, finally looking at the injured people.
Momoze continued to argue with Ashton's decision to destroy the ship. In all honesty, Ashton didn't really know what to say in his defence.
That explosion was an impulsive move on his part. He basically exploded one of the largest ships built by mankind on a whim.
Everyone looked at the two of them. They watched with wide eyes as Momoze scolded Ashton like a nagging housewife.
Sevanti just raised an eyebrow as she watched her daughter interact with Ashton. She wasn't really against that, but she still found it somewhat strange.
Ashton was quite the enigmatic figure to all of them. And she had somewhat heard about him from the old King in the past.
She knew of his reputation. A heartless, merciless and bloodthirsty individual. At least that was how The Late King Nasubi described the scientist at some point.
It was during a small party of world leaders, Nasubi had decided to bring her to it instead of his other wives. And they ran into Ashton at that point.
So, Sevanti somewhat knew of his name.
He was by far the most prominent figure with a non-political background in Lake Mobius. And that was from Nasubi's description, a person that clearly hated Ashton.
Obviously, after spending so much time around him she could tell that a lot of those things were exaggerated. But her impression of him was still not the best.
She was going to be observing his relationship with Momoze for a while before deciding whether or not to truly accept it.
Eventually, Momoze stopped bickering with Ashton after noticing that everyone was looking at her weirdly. She just turned red and closed her mouth immediately.
"We should get you all out of here. I have a clear escape plan." Ashton said, the people in the room seemed a bit curious.
"Of course, we can address the issue of the Black Whale going down later. For now, we need to focus on escaping with our lives intact." The one to speak up this time was Oita. As usual, she was clutching her child in her arms.
"You said that you have an escape plan?" Kacho asked Ashton as she dragged her sister to get up from the ground.
Even the injured were slowly getting up, they all realised that they didn't have much time. Halkenburg also grabbed the still unconscious Kurapika and carried him on his back.
"Of course! I always do!" Ashton said while beating himself on the chest confidently. He could somewhat hear Momoze scoffing at his actions, but he decided to ignore that.
He quickly told everyone to follow him, they all orderly walked towards the hole in the ship, Ashton formed a bubble of air around everyone using his 'Wind Aspect' and they could all see the drowning Shakti users struggle while they calmly walked and water engulfed the ship.
Eventually, they reached the massive hole that Ashton had created, it made everyone grimace at the sight of it.
"How...Why?" Even Momoze was quite flabbergasted. They could all see the way the metal of the ship was bent and melted.
It was obviously cooled off by the ocean waters, but the traces of destruction were still quite apparent.
"I may have gone a bit overboard when noticing that all of you were in danger. I acted thinking that this would create a distraction and help you guys. Sensing the infected soldiers with my En is quite impossible after all..."
Ashton's explanation seemed quite satisfactory. No one could refute his strategy. Although some were still a bit dissatisfied that their kingdom's largest ship had been destroyed.
Ashton kept using Wind Aspect to raise that bubble of air surrounding everyone above sea level. Doing so, he managed to safely extract everyone out of the ship.
He also took out that small sailboat he still had in his Void Space and placed everyone on it.
They all managed to sit down and relax once on it.
"So... What now? Our way to the rest of Lake Mobius is sunken..." The one speaking this time was Sevanti. She looked at the sinking wreckage that was once the largest ship made by humanity.
It was supposed to carry their expedition to the enigmatic Dark Continent... And, to some extent, it had carried out its purpose.
But now, they were technically stranded here, they could contact the outside world, but to build a ship large enough to carry everyone home in case something went wrong was simply impossible.
So, now, the fate of many people was to remain on this Dark Continent. (the Kakin Royalty still doesn't know they aren't on the Dark Continent)
It was somewhat regrettable.
"Wait!" Fugetsu finally spoke up. Ashton was quite surprised to finally hear her voice. She was usually quite silent around him.
"What about big sister Camilla?" Her question silenced everyone on the small ship.
Halkenburg was, like usual, the first to regain his composure.
"Well... We were technically looking for ways to execute her... right?" He asked with uncertainty.
Ashton however, had other thoughts. 'I completely forgot about her!' He had been so enraptured with Shakti and its uses that he had not remembered that Camilla even existed.
"I... I don't think this is fair to her." Said Momoze as she looked at the now barely visible Black Whale.
"She tried to kill us!" Oita's words were making sense. But the princes still looked quite bothered.
Even Halkenburg, the person that wouldn't trust Camilla under any circumstance. He was also having second thoughts about this.
"Indeed, but she also helped us. She helped us end the war even though that went against her objectives at first." Sevanti was the one to bring up Camilla's help towards them.
Even if she had her own motives to do so. It was no secret that she had helped them all greatly.
So, they now had a choice. Do they try to save their half-siblings? Or do they leave her to die?
