Ch6 Spider X Eagles X Egg

Mt. Split-in-half is one of the world's highest mountains, located in the middle of the Biska Forest Park. At 1.3 kilometers high, it was a behemoth that towered above the clouds.

" Spider Eagles build their webs in deep ravines, to protect their eggs from predators. This makes their eggs, One of the most difficult ingredients to obtain. The eggs are also known as Dream Eggs." Netero explained as he walked towards the crevices.

" W-Wait a minute... You must be joking, No one with a right mind would jump down there–." Todo, The pro wrestler looks terrific as he thinks about jumping down the rift to claim the egg.

" I'll go and demonstrate it first." Menchi stretches her hand before taking off her socks.

But before she could even take a step near the crevices Akira who couldn't contain his excitement jumped down while shouting happily. " I've been waiting for this! Wooo~"

It wasn't clear if it was Nakamura Akira who wanted something like this or if it's Pokkle adventurous personality.

Akira who's falling held on to the web and took a deep breath before slowly closing his eyes.

Leorio and Gon worried and shouted as they saw their friends jump down.

Menchi thought that Akira was inspiring Gourmet Hunter not only because he knew her but also because of his dedication to cooking that he displayed on the previous test.

" What the hell is that guy even thinking," Leorio said worriedly and suddenly looked at Gon's fishing rod having an idea of hooking Akira up.

Gon saw his look and took out the fishing rod from his back.

When Gon was about to hook Akira. He saw him close his eyes and stopped what he was about to do.

Leorio who saw him stopped and looked stunned. " What are you doing Gon, Hurry up and hook Akira now."

" Look closely Leorio, Akira is concentrating and since Akira is what we are talking about I think he had a plan in mind," Kurapika said as he looked at Akira with interest.

Leorio anxiously look at Akira and even other applicants look at Akira with different kind of thoughts. Menchi and Netero looking forward to what Akira planned to do.

' Concentrate more and feel the wind like I always do while practicing archery. I can do this despite having a different body, My sense didn't disappear but gotten even sharper.'

Akira who concentrated on feeling the wind opened his eyes before releasing his hold on the web. Akira then grabbed an egg as he was falling.

" Akira!." It was Leorio who cried out loud worried about his friend's condition.

Some of the applicants who look favorable to Akira couldn't help but look away not wanting to see the boy's death. But At that moment a strong gust of wind appeared that raised Akira to the ridge.

"That looks fun." Gon and Killua said at the same time.

" This ravine has updrafts that help the hatched chicks fly up to the web." Menchi who saw that she didn't have any job now that someone already demonstrated how to get the egg explained the updraft. ' He has the potential to become a good Gourmet Hunter.'

Akira who came up saw the look of his four friends. Gon and Killua look excited to try it. Leorio who looked glad that he was alright and Kurapika who just smiled at him.

" Hehehe, I'm first," Akira said as he showed the egg.

As others look amazed at the thrilling show earlier they strengthen their resolve by looking at the crevices.

" How did you know when the wind is coming?." Killua whispered as he was curious how he did he know.

" Well, I'm an archer. Reading the flow of the wind is one of the skills you must have if you want to become an excellent archer." Akira said with a wink.

Killua just ignored Akira's bragging before walking toward Gon. ' He's good, but it wasn't impossible.'

It's been 10 minutes now since Akira got the spider eagle egg. Since then a lot of applicants tried to get one seeing how easily Akira has done it. Some of them thought that there was always an updraft that would lift them bringing their demise to themselves.

Just like in the canon a lot of people passed the test with the help of Gon's nose. But a large number of applicants earlier (150) only 50 examinees remain, It has 8 more people passed the second phase than in the canon where only 42 remained.

" Delish." Akira savored the egg in his hand as they all now eating the boiled egg circling the largest pot he had ever seen.

In a few more minutes they would ride the Airship again to arrive at the site of the third phase exam. But all of the 50 examinees didn't think about the third exam, because right now they all just wanted to enjoy eating the most delicious boiled in the world.
