Chapter 14: Heaven's Arena, Part 4

Ryu Hayabusa was once known as being the most powerful ninja in the world, hence his nickname "the Singular Super Ninja".

Physically conditioned, Ryu's speed and acrobatic skills were beyond exceptional.

He was a tactical fighter and highly calculative in battle. His skills in hand to hand combat and weaponry were at the master level, especially his swordsmanship skill.

Ryu specialized in a martial art known as 'Hayabusa style Ninjutsu', but it has to be mentioned that he also studied other martial arts.

At the moment, all of the years of rigorous training and the thousand of battles that had shaped the legend known as Ryu Hayabusa into the powerhouse warrior that he was, were forcefully imprinted in Enma's mind.

The young teen's body started to slowly glow while improving in a way that it could fully support the newly acquired set of skills.

To receive Hayabusa's mastery, meant to receive his muscle memory, flexibility, spatial awareness, strength, speed, other than his fighting abilities, experience and martial prowess.

It basically encompassed and included all the things that made Ryu Hayabusa the strongest ninja.

-The Day after-

Enma couldn't believe it.

He never thought that the item would improve his physical stat so much.

It wouldn't be strange now if he had the strength to open 3 gates at the testing gates, which were at the entrance of the Zoldyck's properties.

The third gates weighted nearly 16 tons, and were the one Killua opened while returning home after the exam.

There were no need for Enma to became accustomed to Hayabusa's abilities.

That was because he felt like he always had those skills and performed them a million of times.

'1 week?? I want to fight now! I get it now, why Gon couldn't wait any longer to use Nen in a match.

I need to be careful. This sense of invincibility and security I'm feeling now… I must not became arrogant.

There are hundreds of people stronger than me on this floor alone.

Hisoka for example.

The good news is that now I have ways to deal with an opponent, while before I was basically limited to Itto shura.

I wonder what will happen now, if I combine all my abilities together…

Spider-sense to evade, martial arts to attack and Itto shura to surprise.'

Looking at the clock, Enma frowned.

'Damn! I'm late for Gon's match!'

Whenever Killua met a person, being that a friend or a foe, he would always do the same thing.

He would analyze his chances to kill.

If he realized that his chances weren't optimal, he would keep distance.

It was a habit that he developed after the gruesome training his brother Illumi put him through.

It was a way for Illumi to ensure his brother's safety.

At this moment Killua was stunned.

'What…What the hell happened to this guy? First during the hunter exam, then yesterday in Gon's room, and now today…

The perfect way he moves his body, the silent steps, the confident aura that seems forged by thousands of battles… I can even feel a dormant killing intent beneath his facade.

This is the demeanor of a trained master!

How the hell did he manage to fool me for so long?

Something doesn't add up.'

Killua narrowed his eyes, keeping the friend under a scrutinizing gaze.

"Ehm.. Killua? Why do you keep staring at me? Have you fallen in love?"

"No way!"

"Ah! I get it, hehe, I knew you liked my cloak. Don't worry, I'll lend you one."

"Argh! Shut up!"

Killua pouted and averted his gaze.

'Huff! This kid perception is something else. For a moment there I fought he was going to attack me.

It's not too strange that he noticed something though… I don't have to forget the family he came from.'

"The wait is finally over! The match is starting! On one side we have the young Gon! He came to the 200th floor directly without losing a single fight!

On the other side, Gido!! He has a record of 4 wins an 2 losses!

Will the newbie prove his worth?? Or will Gido crush his dreams??"

"Here. We. Go!!!"

Slap!

"I don't need your apology! What were you thinking? Didn't you see what happened to the 'initiated'? Do you want to end up like one of them? Or worse, die?"

Wing was furious.

A the end, Gon lost the fight, as anyone could predict.

A dislocated arm, few broken ribs and internal damage were the results of the kid's folly.

A 4 month prognosis according to the doctors.

For a moment, during the fight, Wing thought the worst.

He was really worried for him despite the fact that only few hours had passed since he accepted the duo as his students.

"I already told him that."

"Killua! How long till he recovers?"

"The doctor said 2 months!"

Killua lied to help his friend.

"Ok! For the next 2 month, I forbid you to partake in another match."

"What?"

"You will also stop training Nen completely, that is, if you still want to be trained by me."

The 2 kids were out of words.

It was Gon the first to speak.

"I promise! I'll follow your orders"

Hearing that, Wing softened his expression.

"Mn! Take this, it's to remind yourself what you promised me today."

He proceeded to wrap a blue string on Gon's pinky finger.

After doing that, he looked over to the room's corner, were a handsome teen had his arms crossed while resting on the wall.

"Hi! My name's Wing. I would have preferred to meet you in other circumstances…"

Enma was a little surpiresed.

"You wanted to meet me?"

"Yes! The truth is that I was sent by the 'Shingen Ryu' school to teach you 2 new hunters about Nen. This is the last test of the hunter exam!!"

"What??"

Both Gon and Killua said.

"So you were playing hard to get all this time?"

Killua was annoyed at that revelation.

"Haha, I wouldn't say that…

The great master of the school is Chairman Netero! He took interest in you 3 and decided to sent me!"

"You said another test?"

Gon asked.

"Yes. You need to know that most of the mission requests that the hunter association get every day, are so dangerous that normal people would undoubtedly die trying to complete them.

That is why every hunter must learn Nen, as a prerequisite to take missions on.

Every year, after the exam ends, the association employ accomplished Nen's masters to teach the inexperienced recruits."

Everyone was silent.

'Damn…I forgot that.'

"That said, I was already informed that Enma had learned Ten, am I right?"

"Actually, I have already learned all the 4 basic applications. If you want to teach me some advanced stuff instead, I wouldn't mind."

Wing's eyebrows raised in doubt.

"The 4 basics you say… Why don't you show us?"

"Ok."

Enma stood in the center of the room and concentrated.

Instantly he was wrapped in a thick layer of Nen, that was…

"Ten"

The layer kept getting thinker and thinker, and it outright exploded outward in an impressive display.

"Ren"

Just as fast as the aura came out, it was compressed inwards and controlled deep inside the teen' body.

"And Zetsu. To perform Hatsu I'll need a glass."

Enma turned around, only to see everyone looking at him with wide eyes.

'He has that degree of mastery in not even a month? Who the hell is this guy?'

Wing was incredulous.

He remembered Enma's fight a couple of days prior.

'I knew he was impressive, but this is too much…'

"Ehm..cough..no need, no need. You pass the secret test. Congratulations."

"Enma you are amazing"

Gon cheered.

'Tsk! You fooled us at the exam! I don't fully understand it now, but I'll discover your secret sooner or later!'

Killua once again was adamant that there was something wrong with the whole situation.

"I think that you are more than ready for your fight a week from now."

"Thank you."

"Yeah! I want to see you fight!"

"You can't! That would be a form of training your Nen!"

Wing roared, reminding the boy his situation.

"Ah! No way!"

-A week later-

"Welcome everyone! Today we have an interesting fight to watch! On this side, with his first appearance on floor 200 and a strange fighting style, the lucky Enma!

On the other side, with a record of 6 wins and 2 losses, the phantom lord, Sadaso! A win today will take him to 7, closer and closer of having the chance to contend for the title of floor master! A round of applause!"

Inside the ring, the 2 fighter were looking at each other.

Sadaso nodded his head in Enma's direction as confirming the previous accord between the 2, and Enma did the same.

'Idiooot! As soon as the match start, I'll destroy you completely! Kekek, you'll not have the time to react!'

"Ready? Fight!!"

The referee announced.

In a flash, a Nen tendril in the form of an arm shot forward from beneath Sadaso's empty sleeve.

Bzzz! Bzzz!

Enma had already disappeared from his standing spot.

"...uh?"

Pam!

"..! Gagh!"

Enma's elbow was implanted in the cripple's solar plexus.

The impact was so sudden that it took all the air out of Sadaso' lungs.

The man, however, was surprisingly fast to react, and swung the Nen arm with all his might, as to swat away a fly.

Bzzz!

Enma jumped few meters high and evaded Sadaso's attemp easily.

'My first attack scared him. It'll be more difficult to approach, now that he is focusing on keeping me at distance.

Let me try this...'

Enma charged for the second time.

Bzzz!

Ignoring the tingling sensation, that warned him of an incoming attack, the teen let the arm came closer.

Still, every time the arm was about to reach him, he would backstep the last instant, giving the impression of barely making it, and spurring Sadaso to keep extending his nen forward.

'Sadaso is a transmuter, but his ability relies heavely on both emission and manipulation, for which he has, accordingly, only 60% and 40% affinity. That means that, the farther the arm goes from Sadaso, the weaker and slower it gets.'

10 meters, that was Sadaso's range.

Eventually Sadaso reached that limit.

'Now! Gyo!'

The teen focused all his nen on his legs and, in a fraction of a second, traveled those 10 meters at a speed much faster than that of the arm, now too far from Sadaso.

Once standing before the guy, Enma didn't take pity on him, and started to unload dozens of shot on the poor soul's body.

One punch to the face, then 2, 3...

"Clean hit! Clean hit! cl.."

The difference in fighting skill was blatant. Sadaso was not a close range fighter at all, and it showed.

Enma crouched and used the force of his leg to lunge forward for one last attack, stretching both his arms in a double punch to the chest.

The force was high enough to cave the man's chest in, and blast him outside the ring, imbedding him in the arena's wall.

"KO! The winner is Enma!"

Announced the referee.

"Oh my…! It was so fast that I didn't even had time to comment it! What a performance by Enma! This guy was wearing sheep clothes until now, could he be a wolf instead?

Find out in the next match!"

"Fufufu… you grew up so well! Ahnn, I'm so tempted to fight you right now."

Hisoka, in his room, was trying his hardest to contain his killing intent.

Easy.

Too easy.

After merging with Hayabusa's skills, Sadaso's attempt looked like a child trying to fight a giant.

'That's it? I didn't even need to use Itto shura.

I'm so disappointed.

My moral is down.'

Not only was Enma disgusted by his opponent's performance, he was also annoyed by something that happened few hours prior to the fight, concerning a certain Merchant…
