Elizabeth aimed to be the ideal wife and daughter at all times, prioritizing Anthony or her father's wishes. Even something as simple as going to the movies without informing he seemed completely careless. Although she was aware that he would never physically harm her, he had an unlimited ability to emotionally harm her. When she got back, the dread in her stomach increased. As she pulled into the long drive way she could see the glow of the house lights in the house. Before she could even turn off the engine the front door was slammed open, and she swallowed the nausea before parking her car and getting out. When she made it to the door Anthony grabbed her arm and pulled her inside, she stifled a yelp and slightly gulped at the intimidating figure in the doorway. He slammed the door shut before holding both her shoulders in his large hands and held her against the closed door. Elizabeth took a few seconds to realize that he wasn't hurting her and got over her confusion. He raised his eyes to meet hers full-on after frantically scanning her trembling body until he appeared satisfied that everything was in relatively good condition. His eyes, which she'd had so little chance to really investigate of late, were appallingly gorgeous. They were chocolate brown, hidden beneath sweeping brows and between extremely thick, blue-black lashes, and right now they were smoldering with something that, in a man with less control, might have been described as rage. His hands left her shoulders and caressed her face cheek. He moved to cup her jaw and brush her cheeks with his large thumbs, despite her slight flinching at the contact. He leaned closer to her, bringing his head closer to hers, and her breathing became ragged. He was so close to her that she could feel his warm breath all over. Her legs had nearly turned to jelly as a result of her desperate desire for his lips on hers, and the only thing that prevented her from sinking to the ground at his feet was his solidly muscled body braced against hers. She knew he wanted her as much as she wanted him because she could feel his erection against her stomach. She could feel the tension between them growing:
"You pull a stunt like this again, darling, and I swear to God, you'll regret it!" His full mouth was centimeters away from hers.
With those words she was brought back to reality, and she flinched. She slipped down the door and landed at his feet after he released her. With the fire gone and the ice back, he casted her a mocking glance.
"Where have you been?" He asked in a calm manner
Her humiliation at having allowed him to have such an effect on her that she would fall at his feet caused her to stumble to her feet. She refused to respond, tilting her head back in defiance.
"Warn away," she shook her head as she warned
"Do you wish to remain married? Fine. However, I will no longer allow you to walk all over me. It's about time you started treating me with respect!"
"How on earth am I expected to respect somebody who offered herself to the highest bidder" he snarled with tight control.
Elizabeth froze
" Elizabeth, I have no respect for you, even as the possible mother of my child because, to be honest, you can't even do that right."
She lost it, totally, and for the first time in her 26 years ,Elizabeth turned to violence. She hissed, spit, and scratched like a cat as she charged at him. At that time she hated him a lot. It seemed like something was attempting to jump right out of her to get at him. She soon realized that he had her in his arms, with her back to him, her wrists in his hands, and her arms crossed over her chest when she came back to herself. Both of them were out of breath. The words of resentment she had repeatedly hurled at him had long ago turned into incoherent sobs, making terrible mewling sounds from the back of her throat. He was making soothing sounds with his lips in her hair, just above her left ear. He wasn't hurting her; he was just holding her in with his superior strength. She fell limp and hung helplessly from his arms.
"Please accept my apologies."
She froze; She wasn't sure if she had heard him right because the words were so quiet.
"I was cruel and wrong to do that."
