Elena's P.O.V
"I must confess, you're a really skilled archer for a human," Rowana said with a small smile on her face. "But don't make the mistake of underestimating me yet, hunter. My boastfulness comes from confidence and years of practice."
As I stood there, catching my breath, a sense of relief washed over me. Rowana's admission, telling me that I was right not to underestimate her, brought a mixture of satisfaction and surprise. Her acknowledgment felt validating, a reassurance that perhaps she understood my capabilities better than I thought.
Yet, as I thought over her words, a silent echo in my mind questioned her implication. Hadn't I been hitting the mark from the very start? She'd proven her skill repeatedly. I couldn't fathom how that aligned with underestimating her but before I could dwell on this puzzling thought, the situation took an unexpected turn.
