Running into the bad guy unknowingly.

He held himself in place as he leaned on the body of his car when he stepped out.

"He is pretending to be drunk!" Someone shouted.

"Such a shameless man!"

"What the hell is going on?!" Santiago screamed from the distance where he had parked his car, he couldn't fix his gaze on anything no matter how hard he tried.

He had a hunch that the medicine he had taken in his grandparent's house was causing this to him.

He was feeling so dizzy and he wasn't surprised when he heard the voice that said he acted drunk.

He clung onto his car again to steady himself as the microphone waved in his face from the reporters.

"Santiago Armsworth, tell us the truth about you and Roselle's sister."

"I don't know what you're talking about. What truth do you mean? Don't tell me Roselle is dead. No, she can't be dead."

Santiago grabbed one of the reporters, he shook him violently demanding for him to tell him what happened to Roselle.

The reporter pushed Santiago away angrily, making him hit his head on his car.

Santiago's head began to turn faster than before. He staggered, his body was so hot that he wanted to tier his clothes off to get enough air. He couldn't understand what was happening to him.

Everything that appeared in his eyes became double as he tried to pounce back at the reporter. Just then, someone drove in and he saw Nathan emerge from the car.

"Dude, we need to get out of here now." "Don't fight back, let them be."

"Why what happened?" Santiago asked surprised to see Nathan one of the stakeholders in the company and he was also his good friend.

"I will explain to you later. You have to trust me, let's get out of here before the police come to question you."

"Why will the police question me?"

"Get into the car first."

Santiago decided to follow him, his legs wobbling as he made it towards Nathan's car with his laptop bag in his hand.

The reporters ran towards them, but Nathan was quick to get Santiago out of that place.

In a large well-decorated room, Santiago stood facing the window, he was glaring hard at the afternoon's sun. The headache stopped after Nathan helped him with the medicine that made him cool down. Everything was clear to him. He never thought that this was going to be what he would meet after coming back from his grandparents' house.

He couldn't get rid of the thought of the reporter's accusation.

He was able to dodge the reporters with the help of his friend Nathan.

He couldn't believe that he was accused of having an affair with Roselle's sister and he had also been accused of pretending to love Roselle while he was using it to plot her kidnapping. The picture of him and Lana had spread throughout the whole city causing a huge damage to his reputation.

He went back and sat down, he stared at his laptop in front of him. The forty thousand dollars which the company's workers had contributed to give anyone who rescued Roselle was intact.

He looked at the newspaper again and read it. He was not just accused of having an affair with Roselle's sister, he was also accused of asking the workers to contribute that amount of money so that he could dupe them and run away with it.

He grabbed his laptop and headed towards the door.

Nathan opened the door before he could reach the door from outside and walked into the room.

"Where are you going?"

"To clear my name."

"I don't think this is the right time to do that."

"I can't just sit here doing nothing. I've been accused of what I didn't do, I need to clear my name and find Roselle."

"What if you get arrested?"

"Why will the police arrest me?"

"Because of the money, they accused you of stealing."

"The money is still intact, I need to go out and show them that I'm speaking the truth."

"Fine! I don't care anymore, go and do whatever you want but the moment you get arrested, don't call me for help."

"Don't worry, Nathan, thank you for helping me out. I promise you I'm going to be alright."

Santiago closed the door behind him and headed out of Nathan's house.

Immediately Nathan picked up his phone and called his boss.

"Hello, boss." He spoke as soon as the receiver picked up.

"Did you get all we need?"

"Yes, I did. He is stupid enough to go and show himself to the police."

"Hahaha, he will regret ever doing that. Be quick, move all the money into my account now."

"Yes, boss."

Nathan smiled, quickly opened his laptop and began to tap hastily on the keyboard.

After some minutes, Santiago's account details appeared on the screen. Nathan smiled.

"You're gonna go crazy if you find out about this, Santiago. Hahaha."

Santiago headed straight to the police station in a taxi.

He was sure to deal with the person who had tarnished his image later. Nathan had told him that Lana had been admitted to the hospital after she had heard the news about him having a relationship with her.

She couldn't take all that was happening to her that she fainted and was rushed to the hospital.

If he had known that this would happen, he wouldn't have gone to his grandparents the fortune tellers in the first place. Now he had not gotten any answer from them since they couldn't control the power of the ritual, but he was sure of the little dream he had. He was sure that the woman he was not able to see her face was Roselle and she was asking for help wherever she was.

Immediately Santiago got out of the taxi and made himself noticed by the police, he saw them running towards him. It seemed that the reporters were everywhere like sucking insects that were looking for blood to quench their taste, they too were running towards him.

"You did well by surrendering yourself." One of the policemen said, clipping the handcuff in his hands.

"I have come here to prove myself."

The police pulled Santiago towards the place for questioning.

He decided to remain silent and wait for his lawyer to come.

"Santiago,"

Santiago turned to see who was calling him, it was none other than David Anthony.
