Carolina's entire brain cells short-circuited in that very moment.
It was as if time slowed down.
A figure first falling down from the Gate.
Almost too slowly.
Every where was deadly silent.
More and more attention of the hunters were focused on the seemingly tiny figure.
Whose aura emitted above was suffocating.
But as it kept falling.
The figure enlarged to the size of a human.
Then the wind began misbehaving before turning into a full blown hurricane.
Carolina couldn't think.
She couldn't plan on her next course of action.
But the cells of her body had a different mind of its own.
So it moved.
Slowly at first until it broke into a full blown sprint.
She heard Griffen's voice call her from behind, along with Allen's. Couldn't tell what they were saying. Didn't try to either.
Zooming into where the hunters gathered the most. They were drinking, waiting for the carriages to take them home. Or maybe the recent invention she heard was from the magic Tower. A teleportation device where a teleportation Mana circle was engraved on it. That could teleport people from one location to another.
It caused a serious outroar in the Empire.
Especially when it was made by the Northern Kingdom. An astonishing and intriguing feat Griffen and his crew made. Earning him a very high title as the Emperor's personal sorcerer which Griffen didn't agree, yet. The Northern Kingdom had already offered to him a rise in status as the fifth Duke of the kingdom, but all had been put on hold because of Griffen's personal reasons. Increasing her best friend's popularity tenfold, exceeding over the sky.
Carolina arrived, where many of the hunters gathered staring at the forming hurricane, frozen.
"Get down!!"
The hunters didn't register her orders immediately until she increased the effects of gravity, forcing them down to their knees.
She heard their pained groans but ignored them.
'Serves you guys right.'
A spiteful side of her arose, annoyed that their stupid reactions would cost their life and her conscience.
Her hand slipped into her left breastpocket bringing out a yellow pill.
The pill she pickpocketed from him, while he carried her on his back.
Well as a noble lady she shouldn't be lowering herself to steal. But...
It was a revival pill.
One of the miracles of Terraheim.
That sorcerers were now legalized to produce in a low scale. Receiving enlightenment after years of research from the Gate's phenomenon.
Using the knowledge of the monsters' genetic information on how they replicate cells and rebuild broken bones anew while not getting tired.
This kind of pill wasn't common in the noble society. Only available to the Emperor and his family, the Four Kings of Terraheim and their families, the Grand Dukes and top High-class nobles and high grade sorcerers.
The prices exceeded over a billion gold coins.
It was jackpot.
So Carolina didn't mind lowering herself to steal it from Griffen.
When he found out he would probably be mad at her. But the gain was worth more than the retribution.
Her heart ached severely as the revival pill she was dreaming of selling and gaining money that would last eight generations of hers was going to be wasted in her belly!!.
Carolina admitted the devil on her left shoulder was telling her to leave the hunters they would find their way and save the pill.
The angel reminding her the promises she made to herself to protect people not potential money.
Letting out a string of oafish curses that made the hunters surrounding her wince. She stuffed the revival pill in her mouth before she had a chance to refuse. Wincing as she felt the tasteless pill that would milk money for her, melted away on her tongue.
The immense energy that burst through her was unprepared for, almost throwing her off balance as well as reminding her of her loot gone.
Another set of crude, vulgar curses escaped her lips. If she was in the presence of other civil noblemen and ladies. She would be turned into an outcast. They had probably been too thrown off by the meaning, their sanity damaged beyond repair. As it came out from her seemingly innocent mouth.
Her essence overflowed and at that moment. Wasn't it just meant to rejuvenate her strength? Then why was she feeling added power?
Carolina thought she could destroy cities and conquer kingdoms.
This was undoubtedly a very high grade pill.
And it was official.
Griffen would murder her.
The particles in the air sizzled in her control and Carolina created something she never thought she was capable of doing in her life.
Gravity bended to her will.
An invisible, large dome then encased all the hunters. Even the ones that were a bit far away. It was so massive it encased where the dead bloody garden she and her friends were before.
She then heard her name.
"Carolina!"
She turned, seeing Griffen forcing his way through the confused hunters that kept staring at the gigantic Hurricane that destroyed anything on its path. The force alone almost tore through the dome.
What kind of monster could create this?
"Damn you,Carolina."
Griffen arrived next to her. Surprised, she was holding on to the dome. His big slender hands touched her dirty cheeks. Relief washing his expression.
He was worried? Carolina felt a bit guilty. She should have interacted and informed them of what she was going to do before sprinting off. Not that she knew what she would do at that time.
"Am sorry."
"Munchkin, if you ever want to run away like that again. Please do tell me."
Carolina nodded.
"Come to think of it weren't you not exhausted a while ago and barely could walk? Now you are sprinting off and even exceeding your capabilities. Or when can you now create a dome and am unaware of? How did you..... Ohhhhhh. No Carolina tell me it's not what am thinking of?!"
Griffen looked horrified.
Carolina grinned sheepishly. Praying for something to interrupt them.
"Carolina!!"
Allen called out her name, walking up to her.
'Thank you so much for the save, Allen. I will make sure to buy you an expensive drink on the way back.'
Carolina thanked her stars. As she praised Allen's appearance in her mind. She avoided looking at Griffen on his face.
" Your control of gravity has improved."
Allen complimented.
"Thanks. But am still surprised at what is going on."
Allen turned her gaze along with Griffen towards the hurricane infront of them. The dome was getting unstable. The gusty windforce was increasing. Carolina wasn't sure how long the dome would hold.
"Yes, you are right. There cannot be two Monster Gate Kings in a Gate. So this wind controlling monster isn't supposed to happen. A Tyrant conjuring this amount of chaos is quite scary. But we can kill it."
Allen looked convinced of their abilities even with her pale face from the high amount of essence she lost.
But, something wasn't right.
"Theo said something about it being part of the pieces. What did he mean?"
Carolina asked, very interested to know the answer. Allen instead looked at Griffen.
"We cannot talk important matters here. Though I don't know. Theodore would most likely answer in the Russex castle."
She answered curtly. It was clear she didn't trust Griffen as a friend, though she accepted him as hers which was understandable. Afterall, the Reigns' family had bad blood with the members of the Magic Tower.
"Okay. But where is Theodore and Cain by the way. Then the Duke?"
Carolina looked around. She couldn't sense their presence in the dome.
"The brothers are probably together. Scheming or trying to take down that nature menace... I personally don't care myself. In the end, I just got their back. But I do actually wonder whether Cain carried his booze along with him."
Allen licked her lips in the thought.
"The hunters have a barrel with them. They never go without it."
" No, they never have the good stuff. The expensive ones are much better to drink at times like this."
Carolina shook her head smiling at Allen's earnest, passionate reply.
"Am sorry that I can't join you to hold the dome because of the stunt I pulled. I will treat you to a feast, later."
"I will hold your word to it."
Allen waved her hand in acknowledgement.
Her blue locks tumbling from the wind that seeped into the dome.
Carolina felt Griffen give her a hard look before looking away. She didn't know why but she would ask him later.
The force of the wind was then drastically reducing.
Carolina turned. Hardening her look. Before raising her voice as high as she could.
The sound resonated, after reflecting from the surface of the dome.
"Listen to me. The barrier will drop after the hurricane disperses. If the monster attacks. Kill it on the spot!! Am I clear?"
"Yes Captain!"
The hunters of the First and Second Division Army below her position roared in response.
Her eyes spotted the government officers watching them as a hawk. There was fear and greed in the eyes of the two officers, she told Theodore about and she wondered what they were expecting from the Gate?
If her squad leaders says they keep it. She would make sure they bloody did.
Afterall, she had decided to stop running away.
As she was in her thoughts, something landed, shaking the ground. There were cracks that travelled towards them from the impact. The ground was on the verge of splitting apart.
Allen cracked her neck from beside her. Another bow and a couple of arrows came out of the spatial ring on her pinky finger.
It was a tier two, class one normal weapon. Crafted by a blacksmith. But it's aura was sharp and menacing.
She stacked the arrows in the strap at her back. Then toke out three of the arrows levelling them against the bow string ready to shoot.
Griffen lifted his hand, a wild fire bursted out from a red Mana circle, then morphing into a flaming rapier.
The hurricane forcibly dispersed. Leaving Scaroth into a chaotic mess.
In the midst of all of the debris was.....
A nine tailed fox.
In a disheveled state. No it was an understatement.
Filled with dried blood, all over and a foul smell. Her sheer dress was torn all over on the brink of collapse and had dried blood soaked every inch of it. Revealing an undeniably voluptuous figure. That could put hers to shame. Even when she was supposed to look so messy and disgusting. Her charms were all over the place, alluring and fascinating.
And when she opened her eyes, Her pink sapphire gem-like eyes. Carolina was entranced for a moment.
It didn't seem she was the only one. The killing intent surrounding the whole army of hunters suddenly vanished into thin air. Before they regained their senses.
She looked like a War goddess.
Carolina dropped the dome.
There were murmurings behind her. She then turned, seeing the hunters parting ways for the Devil.
The ninetailed fox pointed a spear at the approaching Devil, a weapon Carolina didn't notice until now.
Speaking a language she couldn't recognize.
