Chapter 42
I sit at my computer then all of the sudden Lola bursts through the doors in sweat pants and hair up in a messy bun.
"What was so important that you had to wake me up?" She growled
"Hey chill some people here don't know about us so I'd like it if we remained on the D.L." I say
She glared at me. I waved my hand at her telling her to come here. I pull up the Google page.
"Look Nathaniel Erwin and Dallas Parker helped Zachariah Ports." I say
"So?" She asked
"Okay I have a question for you, why where you sleeping at four in the afternoon?" I ask
"I was tired, what's so special about Nathaniel and Dallas?" Lola asks
"Their our family members and I think this might have to do something to do with my fathers disappearance." I say
"So they might not really be our family." Lola says
"I checked on ancestry.com and they are our family... Check this your family has not hospital records, neither does mine, nor do
The Ports." I say
"So? Why is that weird?" Lola asked
"Because I've been to the hospital plenty of times and all of its not on record." I say
"Maybe it's-"
"No, it's not I checked the Bade's and other families they all have records besides the supernatural ones." I say
"What do you mean?" Lola asked
"I'm suggesting our parents know more than they let on." I say
"I know you told me you mom said that." Lola said
"Lola I know but I think my dad knew about this kind of stuff and-"
"Dena... Chill." Lola says
"Penelope." I tease her
"Don't you dare!" She said
"Penelope! Penelope! Penelope!" I mock
"I thought we agreed on Lola." Lola pouts
"I know, you teased me with my nickname, so I used your full name." I say
"Please don't call me that name again please." Lola said
"Sorry Penelope." I say
She slapped my arm.
"Ow!" I say
She glared at me.
"I think you should chill on the conspiracy theories." Lola says
"You think I'm crazy don't you?" I ask
"No not at all, I just think this is stressing you out trying to come to terms with your dad being gone and your sisters death."
"Yeah you think I'm crazy." I say
"Dena I just think you need to chill." Lola says
"You don't believe me? Lola I thought-" she stopped me right there
"Dena I do, it just-"
"It's fine Lola I don't wanna keep you from your nap." I say
She sighed and walked out. Lola at least knew when to shut up. I sat at my computer.
Then Myles walked in. I didn't really pay attention to his features before. But honestly Myles was cute.
Myles has an accent of some sort and it suits him perfectly, he has green eyes, freckles, and brown wavy hair. He wears hoodies, jeans, and Nike shoes. He's pretty fit. You could see his muscles when ever he wore a short sleeved shirt.
"Hey, long time no see!" He smiled a big goofy grin
"How've you been?" I ask
"I've been good, How about you?" He asked
"I've been better." I say
"Yeah I heard you and Lola talking." He said
"How?" I ask
"I thought you would've figured it out by now." He smiled showing me his fangs and his eyes
His eyes where green.
"Your an omega?" I ask
"Yeah, I heard about an alpha in town, so I made my way here but obviously it didn't work out as planned hunters found me and that's how I ended up in the hospital, and then you left for that camp." Myles said
"So you want in?" I ask
"Yeah, I know your not just gonna up and admit me but I still wanna join your pack no matter how long." He says
"I will let you join my pack, after I see how you act within a pack environment." I say
"What does that mean?" He asked
"I want you to start hanging out with my pack." I say
"Meaning Lola, Jackson, and Julian?" He asked
"Exactly." I say
"My girlfriend Rylynn won't like that." He says
"Why?" I ask
"She gets very jealous, and her brother doesn't necessarily like me." He says
"Are they supernatural?" I ask
"Rylynn and Michael?" He asked
I nodded.
"Both witches, Michael prefers the title warlock." Myles answered
"Perfect, they can hang around Casey!" I smile
"Casey?" He asked
"She's the most powerful witch I know." I say
"Okay?" He said
"Meaning Michael and Rylynn can learn from her." I say
"Oh." Myles says
"Yeah, anyway you in?" I ask
"Yeah." He says
"I'll explain anything to your girlfriend and Michael." I say
"Please do, Michael doesn't listen to a word I say." Myles said
"Okay, I'll call Jackson over here and you can start today." I say
Myles nods. I get out my phone and call Jackson.
"Hey babe what's up?" He greets
"I have Myles here-" I say
"Myles who?" He asked
"Myles Amett, he was the boy who came to the hospital that one night." I say
"The one who was covered in blood and fell just as he walked in?" He asked
"Yes." I sigh
"Okay what about him?" He asked
"He's an omega without a pack and he wants to join ours so I thought before I jump to admitting him, I thought he'd hang out with you and you give me a report on his abilities." I say
"Okay, your both at the hospital right?" He asks
"Yeah." I say
"I'll be right there." He said
I hung up and put my phone in my pocket. Myles was on the phone with Rylynn.
"Rylynn do you not understand how important being part of a pack it to me?" He said
"Yes I do just not her pack, Myles I don't trust her." Rylynn said
"I do and if you don't like it then we're done." He said
"Myles I'm sorry, but you gotta understand that I don't-"
"We're done Rylynn, you and your brother can still train with Casey... But we're over." Myles hung up the phone
"You okay?" I ask
"Not really." He sighed
I have him a hug.
"Hey." Jackson said as he walked in
"Hey." I say
I let Myles go. Myles looked at me and sighed. Then he looked at Jackson. They both smiled but then it faded.
"You two have fun, Jackson can I have a second?" I ask
He walks with me, arms folded.
"Why?" He asked
"I just need you to help Myles." I say
"Adena, why was he hugging you?" He asked
"I hugged him-"
"Why?!?" He asked
Obviously Jackson was hurt by my "betrayal"
"Jackson, he just went through a break up and obviously needed a hug, I was just being kind." I say
"I gotta go, Myles is waiting." He says
Jackson walks out with Myles. I sigh.
"I just screwed up, didn't I?" I ask myself
"Kinda."
I turn around to see Delilah.
"How long where you here for?" I ask
"The whole thing, if it's any consolation I think Jackson will be okay in a bit." She says
"Delilah." I say
"Yeah?"
"I know you don't like to hang around people a lot but I'm always gonna be here for you and your brother... Whether you like it or not." I say
"Thank you." She says
She walked out the hospital and then she was gone in a flash. She teleported home, maybe.
