“I’m not sure. My job takes me here and there, but I’m thinking of finding a place to settle as a sort of home base to be able to go to during my down time. Somewhere other than Georgia maybe, where I currently have an apartment on my parents’ property.”

“And your job is?”

Before Hunter could answer, they were interrupted again by the waitress bringing their food. It smelled so good, he heard Van’s body decide to announce the fact. Hunter winked, and Van blushed.

“What were you thinking about right then?”

Startled, Van looked up with a silly grin on his face. “I was thinking about how nice it is being here with you. Every time I eat out with Matty, it turns into a circus. The guy can’t seem to sit still. He’s always chattering or trying to hook up with anything in a skirt.”

“So, this Matty, he’s your roommate?” Hunter asked, frowning.

“Yeah, he and I have been friends for a long time. He’s a great guy, just very high strung and perpetually horny,” Van answered, chuckling.
