12. Trick Tower.

Morning was approaching, we are already two days into the hunter exam.

Soon at time of 10 AM in the morning we were approaching the Trick Tower.

Seeing that humongous structure is a sight to behold.

The Trick Tower is already not tall enough that it is built on another piece of land that was raised into the sky. the land was cylindrical in shape and was really high in the sky.

We landed on the top of the trick tower. The view from the trick tower is giving me goosebumps. I might me already 5 to 10 thousand feet above the sea level in height.

" This place is called Trick Tower and to pass this phase of the exam you have to make it the base of the Trick Tower within 72 hours of time. good luck everyone " saying this Mr.Beans finished introducing us this phase of the exam and boarded the airship and took off into the sky.

Everybody soon got buzy thinking of a way down the tower. some even began to inspect the floor for any trap doors. some brilliant people wanted to climb down the tower and got eaten by some wierd flying beasts.

As I saw Gon calling us to show the hidden trap door I started to walk over and unknowingly stepped on a trap door and fell down.

I got up on my feet cursing my bad luck. I was thinking about passing this phase by following Gon and the others.

But I had to drop down before approaching them.

'I am already here might as well clear this phase' I thought as there is nothing I do about it that I alredy entered the passage.

I looked around, I was in a small room of

10 sq ft and infront of me is two paths leading to different direction one to the left and one to the right. There was a monitor there saying " You have arrived at Pick your Path puzzle" was written on it and a wrist watch with a countdown of 72 hrs.

"Welcome no. 405. I am Lippo, the warden of Trick Tower and also your proctor for this phase of the exam. And you have entered Pick your Path puzzle. To reach bottom of the Trick Tower you have pick a path and move forward and after you pick your path you can't move backwards" saying this Lippo finished his speech.

"I'm really terrible at picking one thing over the other" I sighed .

I took out a coin and tossed it in the air, while it's still in the air I said " Heads for right and Tails for the left" the coin soon dropped down with heads facing upwards.

"Right it is then" I mumbled and choosen the path and moved forward in the passage for an hour.

I reached another room with a fork saying

"Pick your Path, one of the two roots will lead you directly to last stage of Trick Tower and another route will lead to your next test"

I repeated the same coin toss this time and I got Tails this time and turned to left.

After five minutes of walking, I came across a room with a arena in the middle similar to what Gon and others got in the Trick Tower.

" Welcome, I am a prisoner in the Trick Tower and also your examiner for this test. To get past me you have to win a challange from me" the person in other side of the room says this.

"Ok" I replied.

"We are doing a cooking competition.

you see my job here is to waste your time and there is nothing better than cooking to waste time right" the prisoner tells me.

"Ok lets begin the challenge"I replied.

"In this challenge we have to cook a full course meal" the prisoner says.

He claps his hands twice and there is a row of ingredients appear from the ground.

~after 10 hrs later~

we both finished the cooking the full course meal to evaluate the cooked food a person appeared in the room.

"To make the evaluation fair I will be the one tasting the food" the person appeared was wearing a pair of glasses and Mohawk hairstyle.

"I am Lippo the proctor for the third phase of the exam" the person introduces himself as Lippo.

"Ok" both the prisoner and me replied

Lippo first tasted the food cooked by the prisoner and moved toward mine to taste test my food.

"You pass" he tells to me and a door opens on the other side of the room.

I moved towards the door after picking up my stuff. At the end of the road, the door is split into three. There was no special indication in the notice but only saying to pick a path.

This time the coin toss won't work and I put my trust in my choice and moved in the middle route. I encountered a spiraling staircase. I started to head down and I started regrating my choice, I am simply wasting my time here, there is no challange but simple boring traps to stall you for time.

After another 10 hrs of climbing down

I was faced with two ways and there is something written in it "Choose left for long and easy path and choose the right for short and difficult path".

I choose right and got this over with in five hours of time.

I soon appeared at the bottom of the Trick Tower and there was an announcement that

"Number 406 is tenth application to pass the trick tower"

I looked and saw some participants I am familiar with.

I looked at my wrist watch to check the time remaining. I timer was at 47 hrs.

So, I have two more days to spend here before moving on.

I sat in lotus position in the corner of the base of the tower, started to meditate to recover from a full day of walking and mental strain.

Time passed quickly while I meditated participants appeared one after another in the time gap of two days. I didn't spare no effort in memorizing their badge numbers.

In the final moments Gon and others appeared at the base of the tower.

Including me and the one died there are 26 participants passed the third phase of the exam.
