Chapter 26

Title: Azula's Thoughts...

….

As Karla whispered that, Sub jumped down from the ceiling too.

Boom!

He lands on the ground and walks towards Karla, petting her head as he is in front of her. 'Okay, now we must first interrogate these members of the mafia and see what the mafia's next plan of attack is.'

Azula just looks at Sub's back at how he jumps down… how his Nen moves and such. 

'Strong… he is getting too strong too fast.' Thinks Azula with a strange look in her eyes. The way that Sub explained Nen to her, she understood that as a Specialist her Nen ability is strange and that it doesn't really abide by the rules of the other categories.

But she knows that deep down her own obsession was what really created her Hatsu Ability. 'Sub… seven years old…'

-Azula POV-

He is seven years old but scarily observative. I can see the way he looks at Ogre, Karla, and especially me. I know that he keeps his eye on me, he knows that I only joined him because I wanted to learn Nen, he knows that I know it too. 

When he gave me the sin of Envy, I truly understood that I still instinctively underestimated him. As soon as he learned of my Hatsu, he had a rough understanding of my childhood.

I remember it like it was yesterday. The days where I would wander through Meteor City, with a hungry stomach, with only dirty rags on my body. I looked around me and there was always misery, the first time I saw an assassin… I was envious. He had good clothes and he didn't seem hungry at all. I was always Envious of other people, even as I was training to become an assassin, I already had food in my stomachs and clothes on my back. But the higher-ups had more clothes and better food… more money, they could purchase whatever they wanted. I also wanted that. 

The first time I saw Sub use Nen… I never understood it. To me it was what I wanted… and when I got it. For the first time, I was faced with the ultimate realization. Violence is the ultimate power… and I want as much of it as I can get. I don't really need that much power, but when someone else has it I want it. 

But having seven-year-old kids like Sub and Karla surpass her in every way. It makes me jealous and… extremely angry.

I see Sub and Karla, two young children talking with each other with smiles on their faces as they question the mafia members that Karla just put under her control.

They are both monstrous in their own way… honestly… I want to kill them both. But I know that I can't, Sub already knows what I am likely thinking. He always could tell what I was thinking and what I wanted to hear. Even back then when I was training him.

Still, though, Sub and Karla are as tight as they can be. They will most likely have some kind of relationship in the future, I know Karla is crazy for Sub… but he… well strangely I can't really read him. 

Anyway, I have thought of running away from this group countless times. But where would I even go?

These thoughts pledge my mind for the rest of the day, even as we try to discover some new unknown conditions on my ability. An ability that represents my envy for what others have, though I haven't told Sub I kind of instinctively know how and what the store has next. 

In the beginning, there is foodstuff. That is because the first thing that I ever wanted was food, as I became an assassin I wanted knives, then as my vision got worse I wanted eyes and even wanted some new organs in case I was injured when a bullet hit my stomach once in a mission. Then as I rose along the ranks of the Organization, I learned about boats, planes, tanks, and many other things. That is how the items in my Black Market Shop Hatsu are organized… as far as I could go I reached airship fighter jets, and if I am not wrong… after that will be the next thing in life that I wanted that someone else had. That was Nen… after the fighter plane jets should be something Nen related that I could buy.

I never told Sub about that possibility, it isn't that my Black Market Shop is endless… it's just that it extends the more things I see and want in life. 

I am brought out of my thoughts as Sub says. "Ok now, we will send in the next one."

He then brings another mafia goon under Karla's control and it enters the shop as I open the door for him. We are currently in an abandoned building in Meteor City. Thankfully we have figured seven conditions on my ability just by experimenting with it. Honestly, sometimes I wish that I got a more battle oriented ability.

But that is only sometimes…. 

I look at Sub as he has a concentrated look on his eyes as Karla wraps a bandage around her eyes. Meaning that she has activated her ability, Spy Bandage. It is an ability that allows her to change visions with one of her controlled targets.

Honestly, if my ability truly has things about Nen next. Then it definitely has some of the abilities that I Envy. That would be Karla's Bandages at least, a versatile ability like hers would be an amazing addition to my collection. Plus I have an 80% in Manipulation so that is also compatible with me.

Ogre's Hatsu Ability I wouldn't even be able to activate and Sub's Hatsu Ability is too hard to master. It might seem like a simple way of turning your Aura to have the properties of Rock and Dirt, but with his mastery over Nen and his unusually monstrous will power and drive. It has become something strong and in the future, it has the potential to become something terrifying, especially with Sub's creativity.

Anyway, as long as they keep sending mafia goons who are Controlled by Karla in there then none of them will be able to run past the ships because of their weak stamina and physical strength and speed. But if suddenly Karla was able to gain control over someone who is fast enough and has enough stamina… she definitely won't hide it from Sub and if I tried to bribe her she would kill me.

Hate to admit it but Karla is stronger than me, even though I am ten years her senior.

Hours pass and tests like this are conducted, Sub and Karla have a huge paper in front of them together with a book. They are drawing a map of the <Black Market Shop> and noting where everything is. So when they enter they don't need to waste time searching around for whatever they want. One person can only enter the <Black Market Shop> twice in their lifetime. I am an exception to that of course because I can enter three times a year, twice whenever I want and once more on my birthday.

In the end, we all go to sleep in the abandoned apartment building. Ogre chooses the room closest to which we leave the food and Karla chooses the room closest to Sub.

I will change rooms with Karla as I will be the first lookout tonight.

Twenty minutes later and as everyone goes to sleep, I am at the top of the building, I have put traps all around the building as I look at the stars, my sense of hearing is at full alertness. Also, Sub is using En as he sleeps, he has spread his Aura all over the building, sensing any movements happening on it. Honestly, that kid is a monster, he can keep an En of fifteen meters active even when sleeping. Meaning that his brain is in constant alertness, that is why I wouldn't be confident at all in an assassination against him. 

As I am thinking this...

Fwosh!

Suddenly out of nowhere I feel something wrap around my throat and start choking me.

W -What… an enemy attack?!??!!

AUTHOR NOTE:

As we can see, Azula doesn't really stay with Sub because of some sense of comradeship, even though they have spent a whole year together. She just simply has nowhere to go and she doubts that she will find someone more knowledgeable about Nen than Sub. She has no idea about the Hunters Association being Nen users and such. Also, we can see that even though she could have been the Sin of Greed, Sub made her the Sin of Envy, as it suits her more. She isn't someone who really wants power or something… she only wants something if someone else has it and she doesn't.

Also Karla's New Hatsu Ability:

<Spy Bandage>

Karla wraps her eyes with a bandage and then she can decide to see from the eyes of one of her victims which is under her control. 

(1) She must keep her real body still when she uses this ability.

P.S: Krala is crazy talented, so expect her to be pretty good with Nen in general.
