Chapter 56: I'll break your arm

Looking at the chart. It seems I'll have to fight either Gon or 294. After that, I'll have to fight number 53 if I don't win. But if I do win, I won't have to fight Killua. This is going to be a lot of problems. Gon is up first. He's up against number 294. 294 looks like a ninja. So, I'll call him ninja. Ninja speaks. Seems he knows the man in glasses?

"You were the one who was tailing me around during the 4th phase."

"You noticed that, did you…"

"Naturally, I assume each of the examiners were assigned an applicant to follow. Well, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who noticed."

Kurapika: "I noticed, but didn't think it was worth mentioning."

Leorio: "uh… yeah…"

Leorio definitely didn't noticed. So that was what I felt when I first arrived to the island. It was an examiner. Ninja guy speaks.

"I'm very grateful, you recognized my talent. And my rank improved as a result. But no surprise there really. Now, moving on. I have a question for you. We can only win if our opponent surrenders, correct? Knocking them unconscious doesn't count, no t-kos either?"

"Right, those are the rules."

Ninja guy stares at Gon, he understands that he is going to be a very stubborn one.

"Now, time to start."

They get ready by moving into battle stances.

"Begin!"

Gon quickly backs up as much as he can, Ninja guy closes the gap. He hits Gon's neck hard enough to make his brain shake. But not enough to make him faint. I clutch my hands, you better not kill him. Gon falls onto the floor, Ninja guy picks him up. He puts his knee on Gon's back and starts applying force. That looks painful.

He tells Gon to give up, Gon doesn't comply. He tilts Gon's head fast to shake his brain even faster. Gon can barely look straight. He's starting to have a stare like father…like father. I can feel rage building up inside me, but I'm holding back. Gon wants this, I can't help him. He tells Gon once again to give up, he doesn't comply. He tilts Gon's head again. How many times will he do that?!

Ninja guy gets up, Gon is struggling on the floor. Once he gets up, Ninja guy slams his fist into his stomach.

Leorio: "Gon! Don't push it! You still have other fights, so just-"

Kurapika: "Leorio! If you were in Gon's position, would you give up?"

Leorio: "No, I wouldn't. He thinks he's so tough."

Kurapika: "Gon feels the same."

Leorio: "Come on! I know that, but, it doesn't look like he has much of a choice."

Esther: "Just shut up, and watch. He isn't going to give up, he isn't like that. So no matter how painful it gets, don't try to stop him. This is Gon's battle, not yours."

They shut up, the battle continues. Gon is kicked on his stomach and falls onto the floor again. As he tries to get up again, Ninja guy slams his head from behind and makes him fall onto the floor again. Ninja guy keeps torturing him for 3 whole hours until he's bleeding. Gon vomited a few times as well. I really want to kill him… Leorio can't seem to take it anymore.

Leorio: "Enough already! I'm gonna kill ya you hear me?! Pick on someone your own size!"

"If you can't handle it, you better leave. It's only going to get worse."

Leorio: "What the hell did you say-"

Leorio is blocked by security. I told him, he can't intervene.

"There will be no interference in a one-on-one match. Stay back. If you try to help him in any way, Gon will be instantly disqualified."

Leorio looks very annoyed. I am too. Gon speaks as he tries to get up.

Gon: "It's okay…Leorio…this is…this is nothing…really...I can still fight him…"

Ninja guy trips Gon. He grabs Gon's arm.

"I'll break your arm."
