Creating a skill card was a lot more complicated than creating an item card though the principle behind them was the same, Jack's understanding of the skill or item he planned to create as a card.
Right now Jack was planning to forge the magical beast bipedal lizard's fast regeneration into a skill card. That way he would no longer have to bear the pain of the bullet wound on his chest as it would heal with his fast regeneration card.
To cast the bipedal lizard's presentation into a card, Jack would have to be very thorough about its anatomy and understand the principle behind its working. The more accurate Jack's understanding and description of the lizard's regeneration the greater the chances of him successfully creating a skill card.
After going through everything there was to go through about bipedal lizards' regeneration repeatedly, Jack summoned his grimoire and opened the card creation page preparing to start the card creation.
Then placing a bipedal lizard corpse ingredient card in it he initiated the card process by visualizing the anatomy of the magical bipedal beast. Then took the visualization one step further by imagining how the bipedal lizard's regeneration worked and how it responded to different wounds.
He recalled every minute detail about the bipedal lizard's regeneration he read and visualized it happening, giving life to the concept of the bipedal lizard's regeneration. Then finally his grimoire shone brightly while a radiating card floated out of it indicating that card creation was a success.
Jack excitedly grabbed the card and went through its card info,
[Card Name: Magical Lizard Beast Metabolism
Card Type: Skill Card (passive)
Card Effect: Your liver and pancreas have been reinforced and enhanced, increasing your metabolism speed.
Additional Effect: Stamina +2 / Recovery +2
Note: Same card's effect does not stack. Recovery stat here represents stamina recovery.]
Going through the card info Jack's enthusiasm decreased as this was not the skill card he wanted to create but the effect of the card was not bad. Not to mention he thought his first try to create a skill card would end up in failure. So the resulting card was satisfactory to him.
Equipping the magical lizard beast metabolism card in one of his three passive skill card slots Jack felt an unknown energy wash over his body and magically strengthen his muscles, liver, and pancreas. This feeling was just supernatural, Jack felt that it was satisfying and addictive. As increasing strength and feeling the progress was very addictive to any man.
[Nen: 690 >>> 640 aura units]
Jack also noticed that the creation of a single skill had expended 50 aura units of his Nen. This was a lot considering that the creation of an ingredient card took 10 aura units and the creation of an item card required 20 aura units. But considering the benefits of a passive skill card the aura units consumed in its creation seemed reasonable.
But what worried Jack was that if so many aura units were required for the creation of a such low-level skill card using the lowest-level magical beast as an ingredient then how many Nen would he require to create skill cards using strong magical beasts like the shape-shifting magical beast Kiriko or Zoldyck family's guard hound Mike or the chimera ants or other magical beasts from the dark continent as the ingredient.
These magical beasts have great strength and abilities, especially the beasts from the dark continent like the chimera ants that were capable of possessing high reserves of Nen and creating exceptional Nen abilities. They would make excellent ingredients for the creation of high-level item/skills cards.
However, the question was if Jack had enough power and Nen to turn them into ingredient cards and then use them to forge the desired item/skill cards. As of now, he didn't but with enough training and hard work he believed that those were not far away.
Putting those thoughts at the back of his head, Jack decided to proceed with his card creation practice and experimentation. This time while creating the card Jack decided to focus less on the bipedal lizard's anatomy and more on its regeneration capabilities and how they would fit human anatomy. How the lizard recreation would be applied to the human body and how it would benefit it.
With the goal clear in his mind, Jack placed a bipedal lizard corpse ingredient card on the card creation page and began to visualize how the fast regeneration of the bipedal lizard would apply, fit, and benefit human anatomy.
Once the picture was clear enough the diamond grimoire shone with a bright light and a shimmering card floated out of it, indicating the successful card creation. Jack then took the card and went through its card info with his fingers crossed,
[Card Name: Magical Lizard Beast Recovery
Card Type: Skill Card (Passive)
Card Effect: Your heart has been reinforced and strengthened to increase your endurance and stamina.
Additional Effect: Stamina +4
Note: Same card's effects do not stack.]
[Nen: 640 >>> 590 aura units]
"What am I doing wrong?" Jack asked himself, having read the card info of the skill card he just created. Clearly, he needed to experiment and practice with his Nen ability more to use it more proficiently.
Equipping the Magical Lizard Beast Recovery card into his diamond grimoire's second passive skill slot, Jack felt the strange energy wash over his body once again. This time it mostly focused on his muscles and heart. However, he could not get enough of this feeling. It was just too satisfying.
Jack wondered if he felt like equipping a low-level skill card then he would have an orgasm if he ever manages to equip a skill card created using a high-grade magical beast as an ingredient.
But then another thought came to Jack's mind, the reason he felt such satisfaction after equipping low-level skill cards might be because he was weak. By the time he becomes strong and capable enough to create high-level skill cards, maybe they would be just as satisfying, nothing more, nothing less.
