Introduction x Unusual x Dinner

"What the—" Spinner Clowe, a slim young woman with long magenta hair and teal-colored eyes carrying a camera, almost cussed seeing the corpse of the magical beast bipedal lizard vanish and be replaced with a card. 

She wasn't the only one the other members of her team were visibly shocked by this scene. Banana Kavaro who had regained her calm asked Jack in curiosity, "What did you just do?" 

Jack turned to look at Banana and with a gentle smile, he replied, "I turned the magical beast corpse into a card using my Nen ability, Diamond Grimoire." 

"By the way, I haven't introduced myself to everyone yet. I am Jack Daniels, nice to meet you all. Thank you for saving me and I will be in your care." 

"Hi Jack, I am Banana Kavaro," the girl with peach-color hair wearing overalls introduced herself first. Following her lead, the other teammates introduced themselves.

"My name is Spinner Crowe. You can call me Spin. Nice to meet you too." 

"I am Monta Yuras. Everyone calls me mon."

"I, I, I am Lin Koushi. H…H…Hi." 

"My name is Stick Dinner and I am in charge of Dinner. Do you know why? Because my last name is spelled as dinner! HAHAHAHAHA!" 

"My name is Podongo Lapoy." 

After everyone was done introducing Kite chimed in saying, "Your Nen ability reminds me of a fun game my master and his friends created." 

Then shaking his head Kite advised, "Jack, all though you used Nen to patch your chest wound. It will take time for your wound to heal. So I advise you to take some rest." 

Kite then turned to look at his team and ordered, "Let's dispose of the other bipedal lizard corpse and clean the camp so Stick can get back to cooking our dinner." 

"There are more corpses of bipedal lizards. If you guys don't mind, can I turn them into cards using my Nen ability?" Jack asked Kite and the team. 

"Sure, since we were going to burn the corpses anyway," Kite agreed and then asked, "What do you plan to do by turning them into cards?" 

"Create more cards that I can use," Jack answered vaguely without revealing more details. 

"Ok then, Jack will take care of the magical beast corpses and the rest of us will clean the camp," Kite instructed everyone about their task.

Following Kite and others Jack returned to the camp and found the corpses of bipedal lizards riddled with bullet holes spread across the camp. All the corpses had one thing in common: their head was blown off. 

Spin explained the gruesome scene saying, "Bipedal Lizards have fast regeneration. They do not go down until you put a bullet in their head." 

Soon Jack turned 16 more corpses of bipedal lizards into ingredient cards while Kite and the team cleaned and rearranged the camp. 

On his grimoire status page, Jack noticed that there have been changes to his Nen stats as he turned a total of 17 magical beast corpses into ingredient cards. 

[Nen: 1000 aura units >>> 831 aura units.] 

Jack had taken note that every time he turned a bipedal lizard corpse into an ingredient card his nen would decrease by 10 aura units. To create 17 ingredient cards he had expended 170 aura units but during this time he also recovered 1 aura unit.  

"Waoh, that was fast. Your Nen ability is handy, unlike someone else's Nen ability we know," Spin said, taking a shot at Kite's Nen ability. 

"Tell me about it," Kite agreed with Spin, not giving her the satisfaction. 

"By the way guys, is it common for magical beasts to attack you?" I asked the team as the original works did not explore this part. 

"This is the wilderness. Being attacked by wild and magical beasts here is fairly common. That is why we carry weapons on us. However, we try not to use them unless it is necessary."

"Nonetheless, it is not common for bipedal lizards to appear here. As their habitat and hunting grounds are 60 miles down south from here."

The team explained and pointed out that it was strange for a group of bipedal lizards to attack their camp. This incident sparked concern among the team. 

So Spin proposed to Kite, "Kite, we should check out what is causing the bipedal lizards to hunt so far from their usual hunting grounds." 

"Okay. Since we no longer need to make a detour to seek medical help for Jack let's set the course to the south," Kite readily agreed and declared that tomorrow they would be heading south to check the habitat of the bipedal lizards. 

Listening to Kite, everyone nodded in agreement. Then Stick informed that the dinner was ready, "Guys, dinner is ready, let's eat while it is hot and go to bed early. Since we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow."
