Chapter #3: #7 Base

[In the city outside the restaurant]

A female robot waiter glided gracefully to their table. "What will you guys be having?" she said with a warm smile.

"Hmm, I will have a cup of coffee and anything the boy wants," said Yuki, nodding towards Youta.

"I will have ice cream," Youta replied.

"Ok then, coming right up," the robot waiter said cheerfully.

"Why did we stop here?" Youta asked curiously.

"Because I wanted to teach you about this world," explained Yuki.

"Huh?"

"Do you see that big-ass building over there? The blue one?" Yuki pointed.

"Yeah, I noticed it on my way in," Youta replied.

"That's where the 10 Generals, also known as the 10 Paragons, and the Grand General reside. They oversee and give orders to the bases, each of which is led by a General. The chain of command works like this: The Grand General assigns missions to the 10 Generals, who then pass them on to the Lieutenant Generals, and so on until it reaches someone skilled enough to handle the task."

The waiter returned with their orders and placed them on the table. "Here's your tea, sir, and your ice cream, sweetie," she said politely.

"Thank you," they both replied in unison.

"No problem, I hope you enjoy," the robot waiter said before gliding away.

"We hunters work in groups of four, and luckily for you, there are three new guys at the base around your age," Yuki continued.

"That power I got six years ago, what is it, and what are WMC really?" Youta asked with curiosity.

"Oh, you mean your Ryoku? It's a type of power that utilizes one's ranking. Those who use this power are called Counters. As for your ranking and its color, I'll leave that for you to discover on your own. I won't reveal everything; learning from mistakes is essential. What I can say is that with your ranking, you're at the top of the food chain," Yuki teased.

"Huh?"

"Oh yeah, you wanted to know what WMC really are, right? All I can say is they're not from this place or time," Yuki replied mysteriously.

"What does that mean?"

"IDK. If you're done, let's go meet the team."

"Okay."

[The #7th base is the last and final base for the Hunter's State every year new members try and join the Hunter's State and is place in a base each base is around 1000,000 square meters which means the member has their own place to stay but every room has to have two person a man and a woman.] "Here we're welcome to #7th base of the Hunter's State."

TEP! TEP! Yuki opens the door and walks in with Youta behind him. 

"You're late," [Chloe, one of the #7th Base Captains]

"Easy there, Chloe. I was showing him around the city," Yuki replied.

"Right."

"Is the boss in?" Yuki asked.

"Yeah, he sure is," Chole answered.

"Can you call a meeting with only the new members and yourself?" Yuki requested.

"Sure, okay," Chole agreed.

Yuki and Youta both go upstairs KNOCK! KNOCK! Yuki knocks on the door.

"Come on in."

"Oh, it's you, Yuki, and you must be Youta," [Lieutenant General Saki of The #7th Base]

"Well, yeah."

"I'm Lieutenant General Saki. You caught me at a bad time; I was just heading out on a mission. When I'm back, we can sit down, have some juice, and talk, just you and me, Youta."

"Okay."

Saki left the room, leaving Youta and Yuki alone in his office.

"I thought you said the lower members below him go on missions," Youta said

"You see that's only for lower missions like E-C First Lieutenant and Second Lieutenant goes on B-A Captains goes on A Major General goes on A-S Lieutenant Generals goes on S and Generals goes on S-Z. You know what would be nice if the ranks below Captain level has a person who's captain level and can get the rank of acting Captain then the work load would be easy around here anyways come on let's go meet the rest I'm so excited to see you guys in the future YAAAAAAAAY." Yuki replied.

TEP! TEP! TEP! they both walk down the stairs heading to the meeting hall.

"Good, you're all here. First of all, I would like you all to meet Youtasuke Hikaru, our new member. Treat him nicely, like family. Youta, meet Drianna, Freyja, and Brooks; they are all privates like you and your teammates. Captain Chloe, whom you met earlier, will be the head of your team. You'll report to her, and she'll assign missions for you to do."

"Okay," Youta replied.

"Brooks." said Yuki.

"Yes, sir," [Brooks, a private of The #7th Base] 

"Give Youta a tour and show him his room. Thank you."

"No, thank you, sir," Brooks said loudly.

"Hmm, okay," Yuki said, with a weird look on his face.
