Chapter 27

Cato’s eyes trace the curves of Boudicca’s body as she stood basking in the moonlight. This has to be a dream, Cato thought to himself as he became entranced by the water droplets sparkling on her skin.

“If this was a dream,” Skoll interrupted, “You know what would happen next.”

Boudicca looked up at Cato and flashed him a coy, luring smile. He felt his heart leap into his throat. At that moment he became aware of his own nakedness. His hands dropped to cover himself.

Confusion swept through Cato. She wanted him to see her. To see all of her. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, Cato thought.

“Now we’re getting somewhere,” Skoll howled in the back of Cato’s mind. Seriously, there were times when Cato wanted to muzzle the voice in his head.
