Chapter 6: The Mysterious Green Mist

Around twenty minutes had passed, and Chen Lingxue, who had been waiting at the entrance of the house, caught sight of a familiar figure through the gap in the door. It was indeed Ji Chang, Huang Mang, and Ji Chang's ant.

Upon seeing this, Chen Lingxue's anxiously held breath was finally released. Without hesitation, she hurriedly made her way towards the two figures.

"Squad Leader? Why did you come out? It's dangerous outside!!" Chen Lingxue exclaimed as she reached Ji Chang.

"I came to meet you. I've found a relatively safe place and made preparations. I'll guide you there!" Chen Lingxue said, simultaneously pulling leaves to assist.

"Uh, Squad... Squad Leader, would you like some water first?" Huang Mang asked, noticing Chen Lingxue's slightly cracked lips, taking a deep breath.

After the locust incident, they hadn't rested for a moment and had dashed all the way here. Now, Huang Mang felt completely drained, and his awareness was starting to blur slightly. As for his once solid concrete arms, they were reduced to a few cement fingers desperately holding on.

Compared to Huang Mang's state, Ji Chang was slightly better. However, guiding the ants, changing direction, and traversing trenches all the way back had consumed a lot of his energy. He was now pushing through with sheer determination.

"What's going on?" Huang Mang's abrupt stop made Ji Chang, who was holding the tip of the leaf behind them, raise an eyebrow.

"Ji... Ji Ge, something strange happened!" Huang Mang looked astonished, turned his head slowly, and pondered with a bewildered expression.

At the same time, Chen Lingxue, feeling somewhat at a loss, looked at Ji Chang behind her, her voice tinged with a sob as she explained, "Ji Chang, I accidentally... released a bit of green mist from my palm. A hint of joy also appeared on Ji Chang's face. After the 'baptism' of the green mist, he felt the energy he had lost returning to its peak state.

Ji Chang had previously speculated about Chen Lingxue's ability to spray the green mist. Perhaps it had the power to corrode objects? Or maybe it could serve as a catalyst to stimulate plant growth?
